In My Thoughts

Today I decided to play with the Simply Marbelous Designer Series Paper and the In the Moment Stamp set.  Stampin’ Up! never disappoints when it comes to fun fresh new products and that is certainly true of both of these.  The Simply Marbelous Designer Series Paper is a package of 48 papers that are 6 x 6 and two sided in 6 different designs and the best thing they are free during Sale-a-bration (through February 28th) with a qualifying $50 purchase.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Highland Heather cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  The first mat is 4 x 5 ¼” and was cut from Gorgeous Grape cardstock and the second mat is the Designer Series Paper Cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8”.  Attach the first and second mats together and wrap some of the white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack around them three times and tie in a square knot on the right side of the layers.  This can now be attached to the base.

To decorate the card, I stamped my image from In the Moment onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measures 2 ½ x 2 ½” using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I then colored it in using the Stampin’ Blends listed below.  I attached this to a square I die cut using the retired Layering Squares dies (if you don’t have them, it is fine just cut a square to 2 ¾ x 2 ¾”) to cut out a piece of Gorgeous Grape and attached my stamped image to it.  I then popped it up on the center of the card using Dimesionals.  Next, I stamped my sentiment “YOU’RE IN MY THOUGHTS” onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Highland Heather ink and die cut it using one of the dies from the Pretty Pillowbox dies (again you could simply cut a rectangle if you don’t have the die) and I popped it up on the bottom right using Dimensionals.  For my final embellishment I added three of the Pastel Pearls to the card.

For the inside I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and added a strip of the Designer Series Paper that measures ¾ x4” (one of the scraps from the piece I cut earlier) to the bottom of it.  For the envelope I made my own marble by stamping the envelope flap with Gorgeous Grape ink using one of the stamps from the Artistically Inked stamp set.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Symbols of Fortune Gatefold Card

Today I am creating with the new Symbols of Fortune Suite from Stampin’ Up!  When I first saw the Designer Series Paper in the new January – June mini catalog I just knew I wanted it but then when it arrived it was even prettier than it looked in the book.  My number one issue with Designer Series Paper that is beautiful is I hate to cut it but cut it I did. I found inspiration for this card from one that Denise Cox had created and I just started to cut.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Evening Evergreen cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 2 1/8” and 6 3/8”.  This makes the base for your gatefold card.  Then I cut the Symbols of Fortune Designer Series paper to 1 7/8 x 5 ¼” (x2) and added them onto my card base.  I cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock to 3 ¼ x 4 ½” (set aside).  I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 x 4 ¼” and I added the stitched leaves by using the Stitched Greenery Die.  Once it was die cut (well the stitching was) I used a dauber and added some Calypso Coral ink to the center where I was going to add my focal point.  I attached this to the Calypso Coral cardstock and added it to the card base being sure to only adhere one side so the card could be opened.

For my focal point I grabbed another piece of the Designer Series Paper and the die from the Crane of Fortune bundle that coordinated with it and I cut out my flowers (yes you read that right the die cuts the flowers out of the paper, no fussy cutting needed).  I then stamped my sentiment from the stamp set in the Crane of Fortune Bundle that reads “Sending a thousand well-wishes on your special day” onto a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 1 1/8 x 2 ¼” using Evening Evergreen ink.  I stamped that same sentiment onto a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock that was 3 ¼” long using Versamark ink and then added White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool.  I cut the words “A THOUSAND WELL-WISHES” out using my snips and flagged the right side and attached it over the white sentiment I stamped previously creating a two-tone sentiment.  Now to put it all together.  Add the die cut flower to the center of the card using Dimensionals, attach the sentiment over that.  To finish off the front of the card I added one Opal Round and two Brushed Brass Butterflies.

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped the flower from the Crane of Fortune bundle onto the corner using Calypso Coral Ink.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Polished Pink Calming Camellia

The beautiful Calming Camellia Host reward set from Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration is an amazing Distinctive Ink set and I have been having some fun with it.  I made a card the other day using the Whisper White ink on Misty Moonlight but today I wanted to make one using Polished Pink cardstock and Melon Mambo ink.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Polished Pink cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and I used the forth largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies and cut it out of the Polished Pink.  I stamped the camellia from the set once on the small piece and several times on the larger piece using Melon Mambo ink.  I then pressed one of my small clear blocks into my Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad and picked up some of the white ink onto the block (you may have to do this more than once to color everything in).  I used my blender pen to pick up that white ink and paint in different areas of the camellia’s.  Then I wrapped some of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon around the first layer and attached it to the Whisper White card base.  I die cut a scalloped circle (the third largest die from the scalloped circles in the Layering Circles Dies) out of Basic White and added the Polished Pink circle to that.  I added this over my ribbon using Dimensionals.

For my sentiment I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to ¾ x 3” and stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the Calming Camellia stamp set using Melon Mambo ink.  I added this to the bottom right of my card using Dimensionals.  For my final touch I added three of the Brushed Brass Butterflies around the card (each is a different size).  So I made a few little changes from the previous card but with different colors comes different looks.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Stay Wonderful

I created this card based on the request of a very special friend (Ina) who wanted to see this Hive 3D Embossing Folder used on yellow cardstock and of course the Bumble Bee cardstock proved to be perfect.  So here is how I made the card, hope you love it Ina.

The card base is Bumble Bee cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Heart and Home Designer Series Paper (I thought the green was perfect with the yellow) that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  I cut a piece of the Bumble Bee cardstock to 1 ¾ x 5” and embossed it using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder and added it to the left side of my card base.  Next, I cut a piece of Garden Green cardstock that measured 1 ¾ x 4 ¼” and I added another piece of the Heart and Home Designer Series Paper to that that measured 1 ½ x 4” and I added that across my card about 2/3rds of the way down.  I took one of the Heart & Home Doilies and flipped it over to the white side, using my Blending Brush I added a light layer of Garden Green ink to it to create a custom color for my card.  I die cut a circle from Basic White cardstock using the Layering Circles Dies that would fit right in the middle and I stamped the flowers from the Heart and Home Bundle using So Saffron Ink and then my sentiment “stay wonderful” over top of that using Garden Green Ink.  Before I adhered my sentiment to the doily, I die cut some of the flowers and grasses from the dies in the bundle from Bumble Bee and Garden Green cardstock and tucked them between those two layers.  This was attached to the card using Dimensionals.  For my final addition I added three of the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Ina and all my followers I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
