Fall is in the air

Fall has long been my favorite season of the year.  I love the rich colors of the turning trees, the cool morning air and of course that smell that comes with all of that.  So today I decided it was time to create some fall inspired cards.  Here is how this one was made…

I started with a card base that was cut from Cajun Craze cardstock to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and ran it through the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder (I have used this embossing folder for a ton of cards and projects).  I then sponged on Crumb Cake ink (being sure to just hit the tops of the leaves to give them some added depth.

I then added a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock that measured 1 ½ x 4” about 1” up from the bottom of the embossed Very Vanilla.  I then wrapped a piece of the ¼” copper trim (you pull it apart to get this awesome affect) around the Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla layer and attached to the back (here I used Tear & Tape because it just holds better when you have embossed layers).  I then mounted that whole layer onto the card base.

Next I cut three leaves out using the Seasonal Layers die, one each in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and of course one out of that beautiful Copper Foil.  I then stamped the sentiment using Crushed Curry ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out using the Layered Circles die.  I also cut out a scalloped circle from the Cajun Craze cardstock that was just a bit bigger than the sentiments circle.  I love these dies; they are super versatile.

I popped the sentiment onto the center of the Crushed Curry and Ribbon area using dimensionals and just stuck my leaves on using a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue and tucked them down behind the sentiment.

I added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” to the inside and simply stamped the small leave in the corner using Cajun Craze ink.  Here is what that looks like…

This card is a perfect fall inspired card.  I hope you enjoy this project, I will list all the supplies I used below, all of them along with lots of other crafting goodies can be found on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.

Merry Christmas Plaid Tree Card

So I am still playing playing with some of the new Stampin Up Holiday products (these will be available for purchase on September 4th so don’t miss out).  I just love how the Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce and the Gold work so well together on my last card so I used that same color combination again.

So here is how I made this card (it is actually a pretty simple card and another one that could easily be made in bulk).

I cut a piece of the Shaded Spruce cardstock to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼” to make my card base.  Then I cut a piece of the Cherry Cobbler cardstock to 5 ¼ x 4” for the first layer and mounted it onto the card base.   Next I cut a piece of the new Wrapped in Plaid DSP (yes I love it and you are going to be seeing a lot more of this in my projects) to 2 x 5 ¼”.  I cut a piece of the Shaded Spruce to 2 1/8 x 5 ¼ and mounted the DSP onto it.  I then mounted that layer onto the Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler layers about mounted that onto my card base about 1 3/8” from the top.

I then stamped some of the cute little plaid Christmas trees onto Whisper White cardstock using the Shaded Spruce ink and punched them out with the coordinating tree punch.  Next I stamped the sentiment “Merry Christmas” onto a scrap of the Shaded Spruce cardstock using VersaMark ink and used gold embossing powder to make my sentiment really pop.  I used the Timeless label punch and punched it out.  I also punched a second label out of the Gold Foil paper.  I simply cut it in half and adhered the pieces to the back of the sentiment allowing a little of the gold to show on each side.  I then placed it in the upper left corner at an angle using dimensions.  I added a tree on either side of the card and then added the third to the middle and a little higher than the other two using dimensions again.

For the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” using the Shaded Spruce Ink and added the tree from the stamp set stamped in Shaded Spruce and the trunk stamped in soft suede.  Here is what that looks like:

Like the last card this card was very easy to create and went together quickly.  I will certainly be making more of these.  You will find all the supplies I used listed below and they along with lots more new products will be available on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking on the shopping cart at the top of this blog beginning on September 4th.

Season's Greetings

Looking for a quick and easy card for Christmas this year?  Well this just might be the perfect choice, easy, fast but elegant looking...

Today I got to play with some of the new Stampin Up Holiday products (these will be available for purchase on September 4th so don’t miss out).  I just love how the Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce and the Gold work so well together.

So here is how I made this card (it is actually a pretty simple card and could easily be made in bulk).

I cut a piece of the Cherry Cobbler cardstock to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼” to make my card base.  Next I cut a piece of the new Wrapped in Plaid DSP (yes I love it and you are going to be seeing a lot more of this in my projects) to1 x 5 ½”.  I cut a piece of the Shaded Spruce (the fact that all these colors coordinate so perfectly is what I love about Stampin Up) to 1 ¼ x 5 ½”.  I mounted the DSP onto the Shaded Spruce and mounted that onto my card base about ¾” from the top.

I then die cut some beautiful pine boughs and added a little Shimmery Chrystal Effects and some Ice Stampin’ Glitter to mimic snow on the boughs.   I stamped the ornaments onto scraps of the Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce cardstock using VersaMark ink and used gold embossing powder to give my ornaments a real wow effect and punched them out using the coordinating punch.  Finally, I stamped the greeting in the bottom right corner using VersaMark ink and gold embossing powder and heat embossed it.

I assembled the card as shown in the photo, I did pop the red ornament up using dimensionals, I am really happy with the affect.  For the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” using the Shaded Spruce Ink.  Here is what that looks like:

This card was actually very easy to create and went together quickly.  I will certainly be making more of these.  You will find all the supplies I used listed below and they along with lots more new products will be available on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking on the shopping cart at the top of this blog beginning on September 4th.

Bridge Fold Card

The bridge fold card is actually a pretty simple card to make and it folds down to fit nicely in a standard A-2 envelope.  So lets get started.

Cut a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock to 4 ¼ x 8” and score the 8” side at 1 ¼, 2 ½, 5 ½ and 6 ¾".  Cut two pieces of Designer Series paper (I used the Come Sail Away suite for this card) 1 x 4”.  The center of the card was cut from a piece of Seaside Spray cardstock (one of the new in colors that is just beautiful) that measures 2 ¾ x 4” (there is also a piece of whisper white cut to the same size that was mounted on the back to write your message (I did stamp the compass from the Sailing Home stamp set in the corner for some visual interest, see photo below).  The final pieces art the bridge, cut a piece of Bluberry bushel cardstock cut to 1 x 5 ½” and a piece of whisper white cut to ¾ x 5 ¼”.

So to get this card assembled you need to stamp the ocean onto the seaside spray panel, I used Pacific Point ink and a stamp from the High Tide stamp set to create this.  I also added the three seagulls at the top corner which are the Sailing Home stamp set using memento black ink.  I attached this panel as well as the two side pieces of DSP and the back whisper white panel at this point.

I used some scraps of whisper white to stamp two sail boats (one small and one large) using memento black ink and then used the coordinating die set to cut them out, to add some visual interest I did color in the hulls of the ships using my dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin Blend marker.  I stamped the sentiment using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut it out using one of the Layering Circle dies (I used these all the time).  I selected the next largest circle in the die set and cut out a mat from a scrap of Cherry Cobbler cardstock (this is why I keep all these little scraps, LOL).  I then cut the rope and ships wheel out of Soft Suede cardstock again using dies from the coordinating set (this set has a lot of pieces and is very versitle.

So to finalize the card simply glue the bridge to the two sides of the card.  Glue the rope across the center of the bridge and add the ships wheel (I did use a little metallic pearl for the center of the wheel).  Finally, using dimensionals add your sentiment.  And there you have it.

I hope you enjoy this card and as always you can find all the products to make this card and so much more on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this post.

Sailing Home Shadowbox Card

I have posted this card design on here before but I really love it with this stamp and die set.  So here is how it is made.

Cut two pieces of cardstock (one whisper white and one balmy blue) that measure 6 1/4" wide by 5 1/2" high, each is scored at 1/2", 1", 5 1/4" and 5 3/4"on the 6 1/2" side.  On the whisper white folded the first score, 1/2" into a valley fold and the second score at 1" into a mountain fold, the 5 1/2" score was a valley fold and the 5 3/4" was a mountain fold.  The balmy blue was folded the same way.
Stamp the whisper white with a water stamp from the stamp set High Tide in balmy blue ink to make the ocean and then stamp the birds (also from the High Tide set) using memento black ink.  Cut the center of the night of navy using one of the stitched rectangles dies.

Begin to make the pieces.  Stamp the lighthouse and both one large and one small ship as well as the sentiment with night of navy ink onto scraps of whisper white cardstock.  Using the Smooth Sailing Dies cut out all those pieces.  Also cut three pieces of seaweed using the die from the set, one in soft seafoam, one in pear pizzazz and one in old olive.

To assemble started by cutting a piece of night of navy cardstock 4 x 5 1/4" which also has the center cut out of it using the stitched rectangle die (a size down from the one used on the balmy blue).  This served several purposes; it gave added stability as well as the opportunity to tuck the light house and seaweed in.

Add small sailboat to the back of the whisper white cardstock and floated the larger sailboat (attached on a piece of window sheet and stuck in the folds of the card so it floated in the middle).  Stamp the sentiment on a piece of whisper white cardstock and used one of the dies from the Smooth Sailing set to cut it and popped it onto the upper left corner.  For final assembly glue the two outer flaps together (the ones at 1/2" and 5 3/4" (remembering to float that sailboat in there).   To create a place to write your message add the piece of balmy blue that was left over when you used the stitched die to cut out the center of the front of the card (see photo).

The card folds into itself so it fits in a standard A2 envelope but I would certainly be sure to have it hand canceled if sending through the mail.  This fun fold card could be adapted to many of the sets sold by Stampin’ Up.  I have listed the supplies used to make this card below and the supplies for this card and many others can be found on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking on the shopping cart at the top of this blog.

Double Flap Fun Fold Card

To start this card cut the card base from night of navy cardstock at 4 ¼” x 9 ¾” (scored at 4 ¼”).  Then begin to build the top layer by adding a 4 x 4” piece of whisper white cardstock, and a piece of 3 ¾ x 3 ¾” Come Sail Away DSP.  For the inside panel cut a piece of balmy blue cardstock 5 ¼ x 4” and a piece of whisper white 5 x 3 ¾”.  For the belly band cut a piece of night of navy cardstock 10 ½ x 1 ½” (scored at 5 ¼) and a piece of Come Sail Away DSP 1 ¼ x 5”.

Stamp the image from the stamp set A Good Man onto a piece of whisper white cardstock and then die cut using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  This image was colored using the stampin’ blends, these things make anyone look like a pro.  Cut an oval from night of navy cardstock using the Layering Ovals Dies.  Sentiments can be stamped under both the belly band and on the inside of the card (these can be anything you choose to use).  Here is what I did…

To assembly card, center the belly band on the inside panel and glue to the back of the panel.  Adhere that panel to the inside of the night of navy card base.  Attach top panel onto the top of the card base and attach the ovals using dimensionals (be sure to only add them where the ovals will attach to the belly band.  And there you have it.  A fun, simple, fun fold card that can be adapted to many of the Stampin’ Up stamp sets.

I hope you enjoyed this card and as always all the supplies to make this card and many others are available on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.  As always, Happy Crafting!!!

Double Front Fold Card

This fun fold card was inspired by a fellow Stampin Up Demonstrator, Lisa Curcio from Lisas Stamp Studio.  I really love Lisa’s designs and often look to her for inspiration as she is very talented.  So this card has some unique qualities in it that include several different areas that you can stamp either images or sentiments.  So here is how it is made.

I began by cutting a piece of soft suede cardstock to 5 ½ x 6 ¼” and scoring it at 2” to create my cardbase, to this I added a piece of Designer Series paper 1 ¾ x 5 ¼”.  Next I cut a piece of whisper white cardstock to 5 ¼ x 8” and scored it at 4” (this makes the insert) which was adhered to the inside center of the cardbase.  Cut two pieces of whisper white cardstock to 2 ½ x 3” and two pieces of night of navy cardstock to 2 ¾ x 3 ¼”.

I stamped the larger of the sailboats onto a scrap of whisper white cardstock using night of navy ink and cut it out with the coordinating die.  On the first piece of the 2 ½ x 3” whisper white cardstock I stamped the birds using memento black ink and the sentiment using soft suede (being sure to leave room for my sailboat).  I then attached the sailboat using dimensionals.  This piece was then layered onto one of the night of navy pieces.  This was added to the front center of the card using dimensionals (be sure to keep them all to the left side so the right side remains open.

For the next layer I stamped the compass into the center of the second piece of 2 ½ x 3” whisper white using the night of navy ink (be sure to check the direction of the stamp to get north facing to the top.  I then cut one of the compass needles out of soft suede using the coordinating dies and placed it in the center of the compass and added a little rhinestone jewel to it.  This was also mounted onto a piece of night of navy and then it was lined up directly under the whisper white and night of navy layer on the front of the card.

For the final layer I simply stamped the rope in soft suede and added the congrats sentiment stamped in night of navy.  Here is that final layer…

So as you see this card is pretty basic and can be adapted to many of the Stampin’ Up stamp sets.  I hope you enjoy this fun fold.  All the products to make this card and many more projects can be found on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of my blog.

Daisy Lane Gift Cards and Box

I just love little gifts to give to special people in my life and this is such a simple yet adorable project that is perfect for just that.

So lets get started creating this box and card set.

Cut the following pieces from Garden Lane DSP:  3 ¼ x 3 ¼” for the top of the box and four pieces 7/8 x 3 3/8” for the sides

Cut the following Cardstock pieces: Two pieces of Grapefruit Grove 3 x 3”, two pieces of Mint Macaroon 3 x 3” and four pieces of Whisper White cut 2 ¾ c 5 ½” and scored at 2 ¾”

Stamp five of the medium daisies using Grapefruit Grove ink onto whisper white cardstock and punch out using the medium daisy punch.

Stamp three of the large daisies using Grapefruit Grove ink onto whisper white cardstock and punch out using the larger daisy punch.

Stamp one of the large daisies using Daffodil Delight and punch the center out using the ½” circle punch.

Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Grapefruit Grove cardstock using Mint Macaroon ink and punch out using the Timeless Label punch for the top of the box.

Assemble mini pizza box and attach DSP to top and sides.  Add sentiment using dimensionals.  Stack the three large daisies to make the daisy for the top and add the center that was stamped in Daffodil Delight using a dimensional.

Now let’s assemble the mini cards.

On the first card stamp the sentiment “Smile” on the bottom left corner using Grapefruit Grove ink and one of the small daisies from the stamp set in the upper middle of the folded card also using Grapefruit Grove.  Add the stem stamped in Mint Macaroon starting at the base of the daisy and going down to the bottom right.  I added a little bow made from the Mint Macaroon ribbon.

On the second card stamp the sentiment “The best moments in my life happen with you” on the bottom right using Mint Macaroon ink.  Ink up the bottom portion only of the fern stamp in Mint Macaroon and stamp from the center top.  Stack two of the medium daisies and shape and add to the card at the base of the fern.  I also added a few of the rhinestone basic jewels to this card.

On the third card stamp the sentiment “Friend” on the bottom left using Grapefruit Grove ink.  I then stamped two of the ferns coming from each side and stacked two of the medium daisies and popped them up with a dimensional.  Here I also added a touch of Daffodil Delight ink to the center of the flower with my aqua painter and wrapped a piece of linen thread around the card.

Mini Grove ink.  Stamp a fern from the right side of the card pointing toward the top of the card using Mint Macaroon.  Stamp one medium daisy using Grapefruit Grove and add one of the ones previously stamped and punched to the top with a dimensional.

Stamp the tip of the fern in Mint Macaroon on the bottom right corners of two of the envelopes and the small daisy in Grapefruit Grove on the bottom left corners of two of the envelopes.

Now the final step.  Adhere the mini cards to their colored cardstock bases as shown in the photo (of course you can use any color combination you want).

I hope you enjoy this project, it makes a great little hostess gift, teacher gift or neighbor gift and can be made using any of the DSP or stamps (I am already thinking about Christmas).   The supplies used are listed below and can be found on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this post.

Tri-Fold Triangular Card

Today I am going to give you a sneak peek at some of the beautiful new products Stampin Up has in it's upcoming holiday catalog (as a demonstrator I can pre-order but as customers this catalog goes live to you on September 4th)

I just love fancy fold cards and this one is certainly beautiful.  So lets see how it was made.  First, we will start by cutting our paper, I used the beautiful Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper from the new Stampin Up Holiday Catalog.

Here are the cutting instructions:

Card Base: 10 1/4" x 4" you need to cut two of these (I used night of navy) score at 5 ½” and do a diagonal score on the shorter of the two sides of the base piece at 4” down to the bottom.  This will make your triangle folds.  Now flip one of the base pieces and adhere the larger area in the center and  the diagonal score lines out.  This creates the card base.
.
Bronze Glimmer Paper square: 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" (cut diagonally, this is the base for the star DSP) these get adhered to the triangle areas on the card base.

DSP: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (cut diagonally to make your triangles, I used the Star pattern from the Brightly Gleaming DSP, these pieces get adhered to the Bronze Glimmer Paper areas.

Pattern Paper front: 3 3/4" x 4 1/4" you need to cut two of these (I used the back side of the star patterned DSP paper, I just love how the Stampin Up DSP’s coordinate and all of them have two sides to choose from.  Lay this piece down on the underside of the front of the card and make a pencil mark placed at the top and bottom and then cut between the two, being sure to leave the same amount of border showing around each of them.

Base for stamped images:  3 x 2 ¾” (I used night of navy).   So, to decorate I decorated the top of my card I using several items and techniques.  I stamped two ornaments and just the top of one onto Bronze Shimmer paper using VersaMark ink and Bronze embossing powder and heat set them using the heat tool.  I then used the coordinating punch and punched them out.  I also punched one of the ornaments out of a small piece of the Brightly Gleaming DSP and attached the top of the ornament that I had stamped and embossed on bronze glimmer paper (I think it makes it look more realistic.  I mounted the two that were done on the bronze glimmer paper to the center of the 3 x 2 ¾” night of navy cardstock and added the third one using dimensionals. This piece is then centered on the front of the card and adhered (only to the left side so the card can open).

For the inside of the card I simply stamped this beautiful sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set using Night of Navy ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that measured 3 3/4" x 5 1/4".

I am very pleased with how my card turned out, what do you think?  I will list all the products used to create this card below and they can all be found on my website beginning September 4th at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping cart at the top of this blog.

New Wonders

Isn't she just adorable?  I love her with the Perennial Essence DSP and my stampin blend markers made coloring her a breeze.

When I saw this stamp set for the first time I just fell in love and knew it was the perfect choice to use to create a card for a group swap that I participate in (this quarters challenge was a child's card but I don't think you need to be a kid to love this one).  What a cute set and how whimsical and fun.  The best part is that it is a hostess set so I got it and a little more for free when my party hit $150.00 in sales, now who doesn’t love free stuff, LOL.  It is perfect with the pretty peacock and rich razzleberry layers.  So here is how it was created.

I made the card base out of a half a sheet of the new pretty peacock cardstock (cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at  4 1/4”).  The next layer which was cut from rich razzleberry is just 4 7/8 x 3 5/8”, which is a little smaller than my typical first layer but I really wanted that pretty peacock to show and I just wanted a hint of the rich razzleberry to show.  I then cut a piece of whisper white cardstock that measured 3 ½ x 4 ¾” and stamped the adorable fairy to the right-side using memento ink (because I wanted to color with alcohol markers).  I added a strip of the Perennial Essence DSP that was 1 ¼ x 3 ½” on the left.  I finished it off by wrapping a piece of the pretty peacock scalloped linen ribbon (about 4 ¾” long) around the top layer just to cover the seam.

I colored the fairy in using several of the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers (I will list which ones below) and then added a little wink of stella (can’t really see it in the picture) to the wings and a few of the rhinestone basic jewels.  I did pop this layer onto the center of the card base using dimensionals (I like the look of that higher layer).

For the sentiment I simply cut a scrap of whisper white using the smallest of the Stitched Nested Label dies and stamped it using rich razzleberry ink and again used dimensionals to pop it over the ribbon at an angle on the front of the card.  For the inside of the card I cut a piece of whisper white card stock 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped the center of it with the Happy Birthday sentiment from the stamp set.

I hope you like this card, it was created especially for a great group of ladies that I crafted with when I lived in California and who I still participate in card swaps with.  It makes me think of the fun we always had crafting together.  I will list all the supplies used below and of course they can all be found on my website at www.craftingwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping cart at the top of my blog.

As always, Happy Crafting!!!
