PRAIRIE GRASS SYMPATHY

Today’s card features the new Prairie Grass stamp set and the Textured Notes Dies.  I also used some Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper, the Peace On Earth Stamps and the Sheperd’s Care Stamp Set.  Sympathy cards are one of those cards everyone needs to have on hand and yet we tend not to.  I always struggle with what to make so I am very happy with the simplicity of this card and the message it sends.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Garden Green cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Basic Beige that starts out about 4 ¼ x 5 ½” and is then die cut using the largest of the Textured Notes Dies (cut two, one for the front and one for the inside).  I then cut a piece of the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper to 3 ½ x 5” and die cut it using the second largest of the Textured Notes Dies.  Once it was die cut, I stamped the largest of the images from the Prairie Grass Stamp onto it using Mossy Meadow Ink (I did stamp it off a little from the bottom and left side).  Next, I stamped the sentiment “With Deepest Sympathy” from the Peace on Earth Stamp set onto the front also with Mossy Meadow Ink.

For the inside I used that second piece of Basic Beige cardstock I die cut and I stamped the sentiment “He heels the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalms 147:3)” onto it also with Mossy Meadow Ink.  For the envelope I stamped the little grass image from the Prairie Grass Stamp Set onto it with Mossy Meadow Ink.  There you have it a simple yet meaningful Sympathy card.
