WHETHER TO LAYER OR NOT

Today I challenged myself to make two cards, one with just one layer and another with an additional layer.  These cards feature the Luxe Foliage Specialty Designer Series Paper that is a Product of the Month.  Products of the Month are available while supplies last for just $5 with a qualifying $75 purchase.  Here is what I came up with…

CARD #1                                                                   CARD #2

The card base for both cards is Pecan Pie cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.

For Card #1, I added a layer of Gold Foil Sheets that measured 4 x 5 ¼” and then added a layer of Pecan Pie cardstock that measured 3 ¾ x 5” that I embossed using the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.

For Card #2, I cut a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and embossed it using the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder.

This is where the difference in the two cards ends.  Next, I cut a piece of the Luxe Foliage Specialty Designer Series Paper to 1 ¼ x 3 ¾” and adhered it to a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that measured 1 ½ x 4”.   I added this to the right center of my card about 5/8” from the right side.  I die cut two of the leaf sets from the Boutique Blooms Dies out of Gold Foil (note: you can cut these out of the gold layer you cut for under the DSP before attaching those pieces together to save paper).  I cut a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock to 1 x 2” and stamped my sentiment “Have a fabulous day” onto it using Early Espresso Ink.  I mounted that onto a piece of Gold Foil that measured 1 1/8 x 2 1/8” and added that to my card using a Dimensional on the left side and adhering the right side directly to my DSP layer.  I tucked my little leaves under the sentiment and attached them to finish off the cards.

This shows you how the addition of something like a simple layer of gold foil can elevate a card or how you can keep it simple and easy.  The choice I yours and the style you chose reflects you so don’t be afraid to play with a design and make it your own.

I hope you enjoy these cards I certainly enjoyed making them.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
