A Birthday Wish

I have been having some fun with the Elegantly Said bundle.  I have shared a few different cards using this suite of products.  Today I want to share a quick and simple birthday card.  Here it is…

The card base is Basic Black cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I stamped the scrolls from the stamp set in the Elegantly Said Bundle onto the right side of the card base using VersaMark ink and the Copper embossing powder from the Metallics collection of Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Once it was inked and the powder was applied, I heat set the images using my Heat Tool.  I added 2 x 5 ½” strip of the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper to the left side of the card and a strip of Copper Foil Sheet that measured 3/8 x 5 ½” right over the right side of the DSP (this hides the seam).  I then punched out one of the Elegant Tags in Copper Foil using the punch from the bundle.  I stamped my sentiment “Wishing you a wonderful Birthday” onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using VersaMark Ink and then embossed it using the copper embossing powder.  I then punched it out using the Elegant Tags punch.

Like my previous card I cut the foil punch in half and added it to the back of the sentiment tag leaving just a little reveal at the top and bottom of the white tag.  I also added a piece of the Gray Granite ¼” Shimmer Ribbon (this looks great since the DSP has both the copper and silver in it).  I then attached the sentiment to the front of the card as shown.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Elegant Sympathy

I have already shared the stamp set from the Elegantly Said bundle with you but today I want to share the punch as well.  Sympathy cards can be extremely difficult to create but unfortunately they are one of those cards we really need to have around.  So today I decided to create something that I thought was elegant but not to over the top.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is one of the new in colors, Pale Papaya cardstock that is cut 4 ¼ x 11”, scored at 5 ½” (it opens from the bottom up).  I cut a layer of Vellum cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and I stamped both the scroll work and the flowers from the Elegantly Said bundle stamp set onto it using VersaMark Ink.  I then added White embossing powder from the Basics Stampin’ Emboss Powders and heat set it using my Heat Tool.  I adhered this to the base of the card using adhesive which I placed behind the embossed images so it would not show.

Using the punch from the bundle I punched one of the elegant tags out of Gold Foil.  I stamped my sentiment “Life has changed for you, but my love & support never will” onto a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock using VersaMark ink and then added the white embossing powder and heat set it.  Once that was done, I used the elegant tags punch I punched it out.  I then took the gold tag I had punched out and cut it in half diagonally.  I adhered it to the back of the pale papaya tag leaving a little showing on the top and bottom.  I then added this to the center of the card using Dimensionals.

To add just a little more to the card I cut two small butterflies from the new Shimmery Vellum (I wish you could see how much it shimmers, I used the Pale Papaya piece) using the Brilliant Wings dies and added them using Mini Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoy this card I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Simply Elegant

What a perfect name for this suite of products.  I think this may well be one of the most elegant sets of paper I have ever owned and I have been having some fun with it.  Today’s share is a very quick and simple card that uses heat embossing to make it pop.

The card base is Basic Gray cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I started this card by stamping my sentiment “Wishing you a wonderful Birthday” from the Elegantly Said stamp set, right onto the far-right bottom of my card using VersaMark ink.  I then added gold stampin’ emboss powder from the Metallics collection and heat set it using my Heat Tool (I love the beautiful raised affect you get from embossing).  Once that was done, I added a piece of the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper (don’t you love those beautiful golden arches), that measured 3 x 5 ½” butting it right up against the top of the card.  I then added a piece of Gold Foil that measured ½ x 5 ½” (this does a great job of hiding the seam from the DSP and you could also use ribbon for this if you wanted).

Next, I stamped the pretty flowers onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock using VersaMark ink and again used the gold stampin’ emboss powder and the heat tool to emboss it.  Once it was done, I simply fussy cut them out.  I added some of the gold twine that is called Simply Elegant Trim looping it a couple times behind the flowers.  I popped this up on my card using Dimensionals.

As I promised this really is a simple card.  You could also stamp those same flowers on the inside of the card perhaps using basic gray ink so it coordinated really well.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Sorry I have been missing in action

I had to head to Wisconsin for a few weeks to check on my Dad who is pretty ill.  I had planned all kinds of posts to do while I was away.  However, as often happens I got there and life got in the way.  Well I am home now and have been busy creating and I promise you some fun new projects and posts will be coming your way.  Thanks for understanding.

Art Gallery Bundle Thinking of You

I wanted to share this card before it was too late.  While the stamps and dies are carrying over into the new Annual Catalog the Fine Arts Floral Designer Series Paper and the Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate are not so you only have a limited time to order them if you would like to work with them.  Also, the Acetate is on sale for 50% off so it is just $4.50, some of these sheets lay directly over the patterns on the DSP for a real wow affect.  So, here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Blushing Bride cardstock that measures 4 x 5 ¼” and that was embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.  I then added a piece of the Golden Garden Designer Specialty paper that measures 3 x 4 ½”.  I also added a strip of the Fine Arts Floral Designer Series Paper that measures 2 x 5 ¼”.

I then grabbed some scraps of Basic White cardstock and stamped the floral image from the stamp set in the Art Gallery Bundle in Blushing Bride ink.  I also stamped the leaves onto scrap cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink.  I stamped my sentiment “I’m thinking of you” onto another scrap of the Basic White cardstock also with Mossy Meadow ink.

To add the Gilded Leafing Embellishment, I used the coordinating floral stamp from the stamp set and stamped it over the flower with VersaMark ink.  I then added Heat & Stick Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool (NOTE:  Do not over heat the heat & stick or you will dry it and the gold leafing will not stick) once it was melted, I added some of the Gilded Leafing Embellishment to it just rubbing it on with my fingers and then working the excess of with a stiff stencil brush.  I love the golden affect it adds to the card.  I die cut the flower, the stem and leaves and the sentiment all with dies from the bundle.  I added my stem and leaves and flower with Dimensionals.  For my sentiment I found Mini Dimensionals worked great.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Sweet Ice Cream Trifold Accordining Card

My customers are always excited when we create any fun fold card and this one was no exception.  There is just something really fun about creating with the Sweet Ice Cream bundle.  It just makes everyone smile.  While the stamp set and punch have carried over into the new annual catalog it will no longer be offered at the bundle price (a savings of 10%) so order yours now if you love it.  Also, the Ice Cream Corner DSP and Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles I used on this project will be retiring at the end of the month so hurry and order yours now before they are gone for good.

So, todays card is what is called a Trifold According Card and it is really easy and fun to make.

The card base is Bermuda Bay cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 11” and scored at 4 ¼”, 7” and 9 ¾”.  The card also has a belly band which is also cut from Bermuda Bay and it measures 1 ½ x 9 ½” and is scored at 3” and 7 3/8”.

Once you have your card base created and folded (see photo below for folds) you can start adding on your Designer Series Paper.  I chose three different designs for mine.  I used the ice cream cone paper for the largest part of the card in the far right it measures 4 x 5 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock that measures 2 ½ x 5 ¼” and I stamped the sentiment “happy birthday” from the Timeless Tulips stamp set (you could use any sentiment you have on hand) onto it using Bermuda Bay ink and attached it next to the first piece I had added.  I then added a striped piece that also measures 2 ½ x 5 ¼” to the left of the Basic White one.  The final piece for the opened card is a piece of DSP that measures 1 x 5 ¼”.  Here is what it looks like at that point…

Now that the inside is all done, close up the card and add a piece of DSP (I used the DSP with sprinkles) that measures 1 x 5 ¼” to the front of the card (note the top photo, you should now have DSP on all your folds).  So, it is now time to make our bellyband which will hold are card all together in place.  You simply fold the band on the score lines and attach the two ends.  I then cut out two ovals (these dies have retired but any shape will do the trick) one from Bermuda Bay cardstock and one just a little larger from Highland Heather cardstock.  I attached them to one another and then across the seam on my bellyband.  I used the coordinating punch from the Sweet Ice Cream bundle and punched a cone and an ice cream scoop out of the DSP and attached them to one another.  I did sponge a little Soft Suede ink on the cone and a little of the Polished Pink onto the scoop using a Sponge Dauber.  I added the cone to the ovals using Dimensionals.  My final touch was to adhere some of the cute Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles to the cone.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
