Fall is in the air

Fall has long been my favorite season of the year.  I love the rich colors of the turning trees, the cool morning air and of course that smell that comes with all of that.  So today I decided it was time to create some fall inspired cards.  Here is how this one was made…

I started with a card base that was cut from Cajun Craze cardstock to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and ran it through the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder (I have used this embossing folder for a ton of cards and projects).  I then sponged on Crumb Cake ink (being sure to just hit the tops of the leaves to give them some added depth.

I then added a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock that measured 1 ½ x 4” about 1” up from the bottom of the embossed Very Vanilla.  I then wrapped a piece of the ¼” copper trim (you pull it apart to get this awesome affect) around the Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla layer and attached to the back (here I used Tear & Tape because it just holds better when you have embossed layers).  I then mounted that whole layer onto the card base.

Next I cut three leaves out using the Seasonal Layers die, one each in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and of course one out of that beautiful Copper Foil.  I then stamped the sentiment using Crushed Curry ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out using the Layered Circles die.  I also cut out a scalloped circle from the Cajun Craze cardstock that was just a bit bigger than the sentiments circle.  I love these dies; they are super versatile.

I popped the sentiment onto the center of the Crushed Curry and Ribbon area using dimensionals and just stuck my leaves on using a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue and tucked them down behind the sentiment.

I added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” to the inside and simply stamped the small leave in the corner using Cajun Craze ink.  Here is what that looks like…

This card is a perfect fall inspired card.  I hope you enjoy this project, I will list all the supplies I used below, all of them along with lots of other crafting goodies can be found on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.
