The card I featured in today’s Technique Tuesday uses the very large Berry Harvest Stamp. I wanted to show the spotlighting technique while also providing a tip on how to handle these large oversized stamps. Please be sure to click on the video for additional information.
Here is what I came up with…
The card base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock
cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. I
then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 ¾ x 5” and stamped it using the
Berry Harvest stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I then selected an area of the piece I would
like to spotlight (remember to move it away from the edge of the piece so your
frame doesn’t extend too far) and I die cut it out using the third largest of
the stitched circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I mounted my large stamped image (minus the
circle) onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock that measured 3 7/8 x 5 1/8” and
adhered that to the card base. On to the
circle, I colored it with the Stampin’ Blends listed below (I show some of this
in the video as well). After it was colored,
I die cut the second largest of the stitched circles from the Stylish Shapes
Dies out of a scrap of Basic Black cardstock and adhered them together. I added Dimensionals to the back of the card
and popped it up on the card lining it back up from where it was originally cut
out. Here is the link the YouTube Video:
For my final embellishments to the card, I die cut out one each Basic White cardstock and Cherry Cobbler cardstock using one of the flagged labels from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I stamped my sentiment “Thank You” onto the center of the white one with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I cut the Cherry Cobbler piece in half and attached the pieces to the back of the white piece leaving the same reveal on each end. I popped this up on the bottom right corner of the card. I also added three rhinestones, to get them the color I wanted I used the Rhinestone Basic Jewels and colored them Cherry Cobbler using my dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend Marker.
I hope you enjoy this card I certainly
