Ever Eden 6 x 12” Double One Sheet Wonder

I have not done a post for a few days because I wanted to show case this project and it took me a bit to get it all pulled together.  This beautiful Ever Eden 12 x 12” Designer Series Paper is currently on sale in the clearance for just $6.00 a pack (down from $15) and I decided to show how you could take a simple Double One Sheet Wonder sketch and create 11 cards with just ½ of two of the sheets of DSP measuring 6 x 12”.

I have done this project before (see my May 29, 2020 blog post) and it is a great way to create some fast, fun and cute cards.  I was determined to show you how to get the most out of this beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The paper I used come in 12 x 12” sheets (I love this paper and at this price using it this way is a no brainer) so I was able to create a total of 11 cards from two ½ sheets of coordinating paper.  I will say it works best if you like both sides of your paper and the coordinate well (thankfully that is a strong spot at Stampin’ Up! since they design their papers to be super good at coordinating).  Now just think about this, the paper pack has 12 sheets of 12 x 12” DSP so that is a total of 24 (6 x 12”) pieces.  Now cut those up using the template below and you will be able to add some stamp, inks, cardstock and create a total of 132 cards from one pack of DSP, that’s right 132 cards from one pack of paper.  The thing I want you to remember is I am just using stamps, dies, ink and paper I have on hand, you do not need all of these supplies to create these cards, use what you have and love!

Let’s start by cutting our paper, here is the template I created to help you figure out the cutting…

The first thing you should do is cut the pieces at 4 ½”, then again at 4” and that will make your three main pieces.  For cards 1 -4 you will take your 4 ½” x 6” piece and cut it into 12 pieces (remember you are doing this cutting on both pieces of the DSP you selected (to save time I usually cut mine together) that measure 1 ½ x 3”.  Select the three pieces you want to display on each of the four cards.  Select a background piece (I used Soft Succulent for these) and cut it to 5 x 3 ¼” and mount your DSP on that.  You can then mount those onto a standard card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”.  Add sentiments, embellishments, ribbon, anything you want to create your cards.

For the second group of cards you will take your 4 x 6” piece of DSP and cut off 4 x 3 ¾” from the bottom (save this for cards 9 & 10).  Cut the remaining 4 x 5 ¼” piece into 8 pieces that measure 1 x 5 ¼” (remember that is 4 from each of the papers).   Cut your card bases to 5 ½ x 8 ½ and score at 1 ¼ and 4 ¼” (fold the 1 ¼” piece back onto the card front to create this card).  Add you DSP strips, sentiments, embellishments, do your stamping anything you want to create these cards.  Hint:  If you adhere that 1 ¼” piece to the front of the card it will lay much flatter.

For your next cutting take your final pieces that measure 3 ½ x 6” and cut across to create 4 pieces that measure 3 ½ x 2 ¼” and you will have one final cut to make to create 4 pieces that measure 1 ¾ x 1 ½” (set these aside for card 11).  For cards 9 & 10 you will be using the four pieces that measure 3 ½ x 2 ¼” and the two pieces that measure 4 x ¾”.  I mounted two of the pieces that are 3 ½ x 2 ¼” onto a layer that measured 3 ¾ x 5” and then mounted that onto a standard card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”.  (I used Soft Succulent for the mat and Evening Evergreen for the base).  I then added the strips that measured ¾ x 4” (one I mounted on another piece of cardstock and one I stamped directly onto).  Add Sentiments, embellishments, ribbons anything you want.

For my final card I used the 4 little pieces that measured 1 ½ x 1 ¾”.  I used a corner rounder and rounded two of the corners on each card (you could leave them square or round all 4 corners it is all up to you).  I mounted them onto a mat (I used Soft Suede cardstock that I had die cut with my stitched greenery die (leaves little stitched leaves in the paper) and I mounted it onto a standard card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼” (here I used Evening Evergreen).  Add your sentiment, embellishments, anything you want.

I hope you enjoy these cards and find this double one sheet wonder to be a great starting point for many more cards.  I love using these sketches and really enjoyed using them to create these cards.  I will list the supplies I used below and you can find the supplies for this card and many more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.  Just remember for these cards you can use any stamps, punches, dies, etc. you have on hand it is really just about using this template to make some fast, fun and cute cards!

Happy Crafting!!!
