Today’s card is again featuring some of the products from the Splendid Day collection and it is also a fun fold card. I love fun folds and I thought this copper colored foil paper from the Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper was perfect for this card.
Here is what I came up
with…
The card base is Basic White cardstock that
is cut to 4 ¼ x 11” and scored at 2 ¾ and 5 ½”, from the left side fold up to a
mountain fold on 2 ¾” score line and down to a valley fold at the 5 ½” score
line. Cut a second piece of Basic White
cardstock to 3 ¾ x 9” and score at 3 ½ and 6 ¼”. Fold up to mountain fold at 3 ½” score line
and down to valley fold at 6 ¼” score line.
Set aside.
Now let’s start cutting the remainder of
our pieces.
Cut Copper Foil: 2 5/8 x 4 1/8” (cut 2), 3
3/8 x 3 5/8”, 4 ½ x 5 3/8” and 2 5/8 x 3 3/8” (cut 2).
Cut Designer Series Paper: 2 3/8 x 3 5/8,
3 1/8 x 3 3/8, 2 3/8 x 3 3/8” and 5/8 x 2 3/8”.
Cut Basic White cardstock to 2 3/8 x 3 3/8”.
Begin by adhering Copper Foil to card base
and second basic white piece. Then add
Designer Series Paper on top of the copper as shown in the photo below. Add Basic White layer to the final panel of
the smaller piece and add the small strip of Designer Series Paper at the
bottom of that one.
Now that these pieces are all layered up
you can adhere the smaller panel to the larger card base. This is done by adhering just the left edge
of the smaller piece to the front fold of the card base and the entire right
side to the inside of the card base. (NOTE: The easiest way to line this up is to fold
the smaller piece up and slide it into the larger card base until it is aligned
properly and then add adhesive to the right-side panel. Once that is adhered you can open up the card
and lay the smaller layer down to determine where to add the adhesive for the
left side. The two pieces should lay
flat when opened). There is another set
of instructions that I posted for a card just like this back on May 4, 2020 if
you want to check them out as well.
The final thing is to simply embellish our
card. I die cut several of the foliage
pieces from Basic White cardstock using the dies from the Splendid Stems dies. I stamped my sentiment “HAPPY
Birthday” from the Pansy Patch stamp set onto a piece of Basic White cardstock
using Versamark ink and added Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with
my Heat Tool. I die cut the sentiment
and a stitched Copper Foil circle out using the Stylish Shapes Dies. I adhered them together and popped them up on
the front of the card with Dimensionals.
I tucked those basic white foliage pieces I cut back behind the sentiment
and added a Open Leaf Trinket as well using a Mini Glue dot.
I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it. As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
