Art Gallery Thank You

I am back to work using the Art Gallery Bundle.  I just love how well the stamps and dies work together.  They make it easy to make a fast and simple card that is for sure.  I also love how much interest the Painted Textures 3D Embossing Folder adds.  I always tell people that embossing folders are one of those things that don’t cost much but sure make your projects pop, especially these new 3D folders.

Here is todays card…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  The second layer is a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock that was cut to 4 x 5 ¼” and embossed using the Painted Textures 3D Embossing Folder.  Once it was embossed, I wrapped a piece of the Fine Art Ribbon around it and attached it to the back.  I then adhered my second layer to my card base.  I then die cut the oval using the Largest of the Layering Oval Dies (I am sorry to say these are retiring so get them while you can because they are so versatile) out of Basic White cardstock and stamped the sentiment “thank you” from the bundle onto it using Mango Melody ink.

Now it was time to work on my flower and the foliage.  As I said previously this flower is a multi-layered stamp which makes it super fun to use.  I stamped the largest image onto Basic White cardstock using Flirty Flamingo ink.  I then stamped the second largest flower image onto that using Melon Mambo ink.  For my final addition I stamped the small center area on using VersaMark ink.  I then added Heat and Stick powder to that and heated it using my Heat Tool (heat it just until it melts and is sticky, over heating it will cause it to dry and it won’t work).  Once that was done, I added some Gilded Leafing flakes to it and pressed them down in the heat and stick using my fingers.  Once everything was covered, I then used a stiff paint brush to remove the excess.  Then onto my leaves and stem (all one piece), I stamped them onto a piece of Basic White cardstock.  I simply die cut both the flower and the foliage using the coordinating dies.  I popped them up onto my oval using Dimensionals.  For my finally little embellishment I added three of the Gilded Gems.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Thinking of You Card

I have been creating some using the Fine Arts Floral Suite this week.  While the Art Gallery Bundle is not retiring in June the Fine Arts Floral Designer Series Paper is so I wanted to show you some projects having some fun with it so that you could consider if you wish to purchase some of the paper before it does retire.

Here is the first card I will be showing…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of the Fine Arts Floral Designer Series Paper that measures 4 x 5 ¼” on top of the base.  I then die cut the next layer from the Ornate Layers dies (I love using these to layer because there is so much detail in them) out of Mango Melody cardstock.

Then using the Art Gallery bundle I stamped my flower onto Basic White cardstock, using So Saffron on the fullest stamp and then Mango Melody on the highlight stamp (remember this is a multipiece stamp set that layers).  Once those were stamped, I took the smallest center stamp and stamped it using VersaMark ink.  I then added Heat and Stick Powder to the VersaMark ink and heat embossed it (be sure not to overheat).  Once my Heat and Stick was melted and sticky, I added my Gilded Leafing (I just pressed it onto the heat and stick and once it was well covered I brushed the excess off with a stiff paint brush).  For my stem and leaves I simply stamped them onto a piece of Basic White cardstock with Pear Pizzazz ink.  I then die cut both the flower and the foliage using the coordinating dies.  I cut a piece of the Basic White cardstock to 3/8 x 2 3/8” and stamped my sentiment “I’m thinking of you” (also in the bundle) onto it using Mango Melody ink.  I used Dimensionals to pop up my flower, the foliage and the sentiment.  For my final embellishment I added one Gilded Gem.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  It really is a pretty fast and simple card and would be an excellent one to use to make multiples.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Simple Masculine Card

I always seem to struggle more with cards for men than cards for women.  Maybe it is because I am drawn to things like florals more so than those bold masculine papers.  Well, I did purchase the Well Suited Designer Series Paper and promised myself to work on some cards for men.  I decided to start with something that was super simple and used very few materials so that it might be something great for a beginner or even the avid crafter who is in a time crunch.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of the Well Suited Designer Series Paper (love this plaid) to 3 ¾ x 5” and I mounted that onto a piece of Pacific Point cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  Before adhering this layer to my card base, I wrapped a piece of the wrapped a piece of the white twine from the Snail Mail Twine package around this layer and tied a bow over on the right side.

I simply adhered this layer right onto the card base but you could also use Dimensionals and pop up the whole layer.  Next, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set (this set is retiring so I recommend you consider it while it is still available because it has some great basic sentiments that can be used over and over again) onto a piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock with Night of Navy Ink.  I then punched that out using the Tailored Tag Punch.  I also punched out one of the Tailored Tags from Pacific Point cardstock (tip:  punch it out from the layer under the DSP before you glue them together, just stay away from the edge, this saves paper and no one but you will ever know).  I layered my two tags together a little off set from one another and popped them up on the card using Dimensionals.

Like I said this card was a very fast and simple card, from start to finish it took longer to gather the supplies than it did to make the card.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Slide and Lock Peony Card

As I previously told you I have this awesome upline named Karen with Stampin’ Up! who shares creations with us on a regular basis.  This card was one she shared with us a couple weeks ago.  I really thought it was a cute fun fold so I wanted to share it here.  It could be made using several different shapes or stamp sets.  I really love the Prized Peony bundle and have wanted to design a card for my card club using the 3D Peony die for a while so I thought this was a perfect opportunity to do that.

Here is what I came up with…

So now let me share how I made this card.  The card base is Petal Pink and is 5 ½ x 8 ½”and is scored at 2 1/8” and 6 3/8” (this creates a gatefold card).  I added two strips of the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper that measured 1 7/8 x 5 ¼” each to each side of the gate fold.  Then I moved on to the inside of the card.  I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped my sentiment and image from the stamp set in the Prized Peony Bundle as shown below using Basic Gray ink.

Once I was done with the inside it was time to move onto my slider.  This is the mechanism that keeps my card closed but also allows it to open.  I cut 4 each Basic White cardstock to 2 ½ x 2 ½”, I left two whole and the other two I scored right down the middle at 1 ¼” and folded them down.  I adhered the two folded pieces to one of the unfolded pieces with the folds in the center as shown below.

Once they were securely adhered, I then added the fourth piece of the cardstock directly onto the other side of the two folded pieces.  This becomes a little sliding piece that can slide up and down the center of the gatefold card.  To finish off my card I die cut one of the 3D layered Peony flowers from the dies in the bundle.  I cut it out of Petal Pink cardstock and to give it more interest I used a sponge dauber and Petal Pink ink to ink the edges of the flower before I assembled it.

The assembly looks complicated but it is not.  You simply start with your largest piece and slide the next smallest piece inside the slit on the larger one.  At the bottom there is a little curve (this is on all of the pieces) use it to line up your pieces and everything will work out fine.  Do this with all the remaining pieces working from the largest to the smallest.  I also die cut my pistil or the center of the flower out of Daffodil Delight cardstock and using the dauber I inked it with Daffodil Delight ink.  This is the last piece of the flower and tucks right down in the center.  To give my Peony a more realistic look I did shape it some with my bonefolder and I also added a few little Mini Dimensionals between the three largest layers.

Now cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 x 3” and add a piece of the Peony Garden DSP that measures 2 ¾ x 2 ¾”.  Adhere the peony onto this and then add this onto your slider.  Now just slide this down between the openings on your card and voila you have a slide and lock card!

I hope you enjoy this card while it was something pretty unique for me I was really happy with how it turned out.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
