Painted Poppies Fun Fold

I hold monthly workshops and the ladies always love to create a card using a new fun fold so I am constantly on the lookout for something we have not done before.  I found a card that inspired this one on Pinterest.  That card had the focal point on the little strip that comes across the card but I thought it would be more fun to pop it up with dimensionals and use it as a place to tuck in my little closure.  I am pretty happy with how it came out.

The card base is Poppy Parade cardstock cut to 4 ¼ x 8 ¾” and scored at 5 ½”.  To that I added a piece of the new Poppy Parade Designer Series paper (I chose the nice big poppy paper) that measures 3 x 4”.   Then I cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock that measured 1 ¼ x 5” and s scored at 3 ¼” (this will become our little flap that holds the card closed).  Next I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped my sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set on the top right side using Poppy Parade ink.  I attached my small piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to this by placing the smaller end of the scored piece behind the Whisper White and attaching them together, I then attached the entire thing to the inside of the card.  To finish the base of the card I added a piece of Designer Series Paper (I chose the green and white striped paper for this) that measured 1 x 3” to the little flap.

To decorate (and make a closure for the card) I cut out the Poppy and Leaf from the Peaceful Poppies bundle.  I used a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock (about a 3 x 3”) for the base, next I cut the next layer out of Calypso Coral cardstock (about 3 x 3”) and then cut the center of the flower out of a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock.  For the leaves I cut the first layer out of Old Olive cardstock (about 1 x 2 ½”) and the top layer out of Mossy Meadow (also about 1 x 2 ½”).  I mounted the flower onto the card using dimensionals.  I used care to place the dimensionals only on the left side so my little flap could slide under it.  Then I added the leaf.

I hope you are enjoying seeing all these cards that are being created using the new Peaceful Poppies Suite as much as I am enjoying creating them.  I will list the supplies I used below and you can find the supplies for this card and many more on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.

Happy Crafting!!!
