CONSIDER YOURSELF HUGGED

Today’s card features the pretty new Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Banner Sayings Bundle.  I love fun fold cards and specialty DSP is always fun to use on one.  Today’s fold is all about the diamond.  I saw one of these cards on Pinterest and I knew I had to figure out how to make it.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Golden Glow cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 2 1/8” and 4 ¼”.   Fold the card as you normally would and then fold the 2 1/8” piece back onto the card front.  This is the base for the fun fold and you can use this fold with lots of other shapes as well.  I then added may first layers which were cut from Basic White cardstock that measured 1 7/8 x 5 ¼” (cut 2) these are for the two 2 1/8” sections.  Then cut one at 4 x 5 ¼” for the inside of the card.  Next, add the DSP to these layers, those are cut at 1 5/8 x 5” (cut 2) these are again for the 2 1/8” sections.  Cut one 2 x 5” for the inside right of the card. 

Now we are going to move onto the diamonds.  Cut Basic White cardstock to 2 1/8” x 2 1/8” (cut 2) and one at 2 ½ x 2 ½”.  Cut Gold Foil to 1 7/8 x 1 7/8” (cut 2) and emboss with any embossing folder you have and love (mine is a retired one) or you could choose to use DSP here as well, either is a great choice, then add these to the 2 1/8” white layers.  Cut a piece of the DSP to 2 3/8 x 2 3/8” and add that to the white diamond that is 2 ½”. 

Start by adhering the top and bottom diamonds first.  You want the top point of the diamonds to be directly on the top and bottom and centered right on the fold.  Make sure you only put adhesive on the left side so you card can open.  Once that is done, center the large diamond over the other two diamonds.  Stamp the sentiment “Consider Yourself Hugged” from the Banner Sayings Bundle using VersaMark Ink and add gold Metallic Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set.  Use the coordinating punch from the bundle to punch out your sentiment.  Add sentiment to the center of the large diamond with Dimensionals and you are done.
