THE ADVENTURE

Today’s card features the new Sunset Coast Bundle and the totally gorgeous new Scenic Coast 6 x 6” Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I sure wish the photos would do this paper justice but they just don’t.  The paper has an iridescent feature in the water that is amazing in person.  I have been having some fun with this set and I happened across a post by Patty Bennett where she used the book binding layout to make the paper go farther so I decided to give it my own twist and here is what I came up with…

The card base is Strawberry Slush cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼ and 5 ¼”.  I cut my Designer Series Paper to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped my sentiment “The Adventure Continues” and a sailboat from the stamp set in the bundle onto it using Secret Sea Ink.  Once all my stamping was done, I adhered that to the right side of the card base.  Next, I cut a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock to ¾ x 5 ¼” and wrapped it with a piece of Secret Sea Bordered Open Weave Ribbon and added that to the left side of the card between the two score lines.  Once that was adhered, I cut another smaller piece of the ribbon and tied it in a square knot making a bow. 

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 x 5 ¼” and stamped the bottom with the wave stamps from the bundle in Balmy Blue and added the sailboat to that stamped in Secret Sea.  The final step was to glue down the 1” area on the left making this card into a book binding layout.
