FRAMING A VIOLET

Today’s card features tge bew Framed Violets Bundle and the Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper.  Both these products are new Online Exclusives.  One of the big advantages of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is the ability to get these new products and begin playing with them over a month before the public.  I fell in love with this suite of products so you will be seeing lots of projects using it in the future.  For today’s card I was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest so I used some elements from that and added some of my own.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I stamped an image of script writing onto the center using Hydrangea Hue Ink.  The stamp set I used is the Elements of Text which is now retired.  However, you could use a piece of cardstock that was embossed, a piece of DSP or stamp some other background, the sky is the limit with this kind of project.

Next, I cut a piece of the Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper to 4 x 5 ¼” and cut the center out using the oval die from the Framed Violets Bundle.  I also used that same oval and the larger scalloped oval die to create a frame by cutting it out of a piece of Hydrangea Hue cardstock (I saved the center hydrangea hue oval because I am sure I can use it on another project).  I popped this up onto the center of my card base using Dimensionals.

I then die cut three of the flowers and two of the different ferns out of Basic White cardstock.  I also stamped the violets onto some of that white cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink (Stampin’ Up! no longer carries this ink but it is still my go to for any coloring and it can be found in lots of places).  I added my three flowers to the top of the oval using Dimensionals.  I added my two white ferns to either side of the bottom of my oval.

I colored my violets using the Hydrangea Hue and Peaceful Pines Stampin’ Blend Markers (both are new in colors) and added it onto of my ferns at the bottom of the oval, tucking it into the center bottom.  To finish off my card I added five of the Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels, two to the violets and three to my die cut flowers.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
