MORE FUN WITH THE FLORALS IN BLOOM DSP

Today’s card features the Florals In Bloom Designr Series Paper and the Scalloped Wishes Stamp Set.  I kept seeing posts using strips of DSP and I liked them so I decided to give it a try.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Secret Sea cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut 5 strips of the Florals In Bloom DSP to ¾ x 5 ½” (keep them in order so your design looks smooth on your finished card.  To get my layout I began by adding the outside strips on the far right and left first and butted them right up to the edge of the card.  Then I fit in my other three without adhesive until I got them all evenly spaced and then I adhered them with liquid adhesive (so I could slide them around a little to be sure my spacing was correct). 

I cut another piece of the DSP to ½ x 3 ¾” and mounted that onto a piece of Secret Sea cardstock that measured ¾ x 4” and then mounted that onto a piece of Peach Pie cardstock that measures 1 x 4 ¼”.  I adhered that to the card about 1 ¼” from the bottom.   I stamped my sentiment “With Sincere Thanks” onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and punched it out with a 1 ½” Circle Punch (this punch is retired but the Stylish Shapes Dies would work great or you could simply make it a square).  I adhered that to a circle of Secret Sea cardstock that I punched out using the 1 ¾” Circle Punch.  I added the sentiment with Dimensionals.  I was really happy with how the card turned out and it was really quite simple to create.
