Hello Blooms and Boughs

Today’s card features the Layering Leaves stamp set and coordinating Bough Punch, the Irresistible Booms Bundle and some Vellum.  Well, this card is a pretty busy little thing and it used several products and several techniques so I hope you enjoy it.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Azure Afternoon cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼” (this is one of the new colors that Stampin’ Up! introduced in the new Annual Catalog and one that I love).  To add some interest to this layer I grabbed my Azure Afternoon Ink and my Layering Leaves Stamp Set and went to work.  I stamped one of the leaves in the top right corner and one in the bottom left corner and then added the little dots all over the rest of the card base.  This tone on tone is a nice look and makes a great background.

I then cut a piece of Vellum cardstock to 2 ½ x 3 ½” and embossed it using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders.  I attached this to the center of my card base being mindful to put the adhesive where it would be covered by my focal point.  While I had that vellum cardstock out, I grabbed my Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend marker and colored the back side of some scraps that I then punched out using the Bough Punch (it is so awesome that you can use these markers to make any coordinating-colored vellum you want).  I stamped the same leaves as I had on the base onto a couple scraps of Granny Apple Green cardstock using Granny Apple Green Ink and again punched them out using the Bough Punch.

Now, to move onto the flowers.  I stamped one large and two small flowers from the Irresistible Blooms Bundle (an online exclusive product) onto Petal Pink cardstock using VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed it with White Stampin Emboss Powder.  Once that was done, I die cut them using the dies in the bundle.  I love this set because the stamp does all the work for you.  I added those flowers to the center of the vellum layer using Dimensionals and began working my leaves in around it at the top left and bottom right.  These were adhered just at the base and tucked up under the flowers.

For my final additions I stamped the word “hello” from the Layering Leaves stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using the Azure Afternoon Ink.  I fussy cut around the word and adhered it to the center of my flowers.  I added three of the little Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels and my card was complete.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Technique Tuesday Background with Stampin’ Write Markers 8-29-23

Today’s card was created featuring the use of Stampin’ Write Markers, a clear block, and a Spritzer to create a one of a kind background for a card.  The video I published today on my YouTube video walks you through how the technique is done.

Here is what the card looks like…

Cardstock cutting directions:

Bay Window Fun Fold with Hello Irresistible

Today’s card is a fun fold that is featuring the Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper and the Irresistible Dies, both of these are part of Online Exclusive Products offered by Stampin’ Up!  I am always looking for a new fun fold and when I saw a card done using this fold I knew I wanted to figure it out.

Here is what I came up with…

Here is what it looks like when you are looking down on it (thought this perspective would show the bay window better…

The card base is Basic White cardstock cut to 4 ¼ x 11”, scored at ¼, 1 ½, 3 ¼, 4 ½ and 5 ½”.  Once I had my base complete, I folded my card, with fun fold cards it is really important to reinforce those folds with a Bone Folder.  Starting with the fold for the center at 5 ½” I folded a mountain fold, then at the next score line a valley fold, then at the next two score lines two mountain folds and finally at the ¼” score line I folded a valley fold.  Once I had all my folding done holding the card so that the ¼” flap was at the right I adhered the 1” piece to the back of the card so it stayed in place.  (See photos below) By the way this is how I work out my fun folds, before actually using good paper I grab old stuff and work out the fold and write the measurements on it so I can just grab it as a template later.  I cut another piece of Basic White cardstock to 1 x 4 ¼” and add it to the inside of my card on the right side with Dimensionals (this is going to be what holds our Bay Window open so put those dimensionals back enough so the 1/4” piece from the front can tuck in behind it.

Here is what my templates looks like:

Next, I started adding Designer Serie Paper.  I chose three different patterns from the paper.  I cut two pieces of the same pattern to ¾ x 4”, these get added to the panel on the far left of the card and to the panel we created on the inside of the card.  I cut one piece of DSP (this will be the background for my focal piece to 1 ½ x 4” and added it to the center panel on the front of the card.  Then I cut two pieces of the same pattern to 1 x 4” and adhered them to either side of the center piece.  (There is no need to add DSP to the ¼” flap as it will be tucked in during display.)

For the focal point of my card, I grabbed the amazing Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper and using the Irresistible Blooms Dies I cut the flowers and leaves that coordinate with the dies right out of the paper.  That is right there is no stamping on this card!  I cut three flowers and two sets of leaves as well as die cutting two leaves from scraps of the DSP.  I added two more die cut leaves that I cut from scraps of Lost Lagoon cardstock.  I popped the flowers and the leaf clusters up with Dimensionals and then just tucked the other four leaves in where I thought they looked good.

For my final embellishment I added a triple bow made from the White Bakers Twine Essential Pack and attached it with a Mini Glue Dot.  Then with the Loose Frosted Dots I added one to the center of each of the flowers and four others randomly around my card.  I was very happy with the way this card turned out.  This Designer Series Paper is so great, I have made tons of cards using the die cut pieces from it and still have ½ a pack to work with.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Masking

Today’s card features a background that I created for one of my Technique Tuesday YouTube Videos using the Foursquare Decorative Masks.  I wanted to make this masked layer into a card that had no stamping on it.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Bubble Bath cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Boho Blue cardstock that measure 3 7/8 x 5 1/8” (But, first I die cut the shadow for my sentiment “Feel Better Soon” from the Wanted to Say Dies and my branch of leaves from the Dainty Delights Dies out of the center of this layer.  I was careful to stay away from the edges of my cardstock and since it was going to be covered with my masked layer and no one was going to see it made it a perfect little way to save on cardstock).  Once that was done I added my masked layer.  It is a piece of Basic White cardstock cut to 3 ¾ x 5” that I colored using one of the Foursquare Decorative Masks, Bubble Bath ink and a Blending Brush.  (video below shows how to do this).

Once I had my two layers added to my card base, I die cut the “Feel Better Soon” out of a scrap of Lemon Lolly cardstock and adhered it to the base that I had already cut out of the Boho Blue.  I adhered my leaves and then popped my sentiment up on the card using Mini Dimensionals.  And there you have it, a card without stamping!

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
