Painting with Ink

Today I once again wanted to showcase the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper before it retires at the end of June.  I just love all the papers in this collection and I will certainly miss having it to play with.  I wanted today’s card to be a simple yet elegant looking card and share a technique I love.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut another piece of Night of Navy cardstock that measured 2 ¼ x3 ¾”.  I cut a piece of the Heart & Home DSP (love this blue and white image) that measured 2 ¾ x 5 ½” and adhered it to the top of my card (I left about ¼” uncovered at the top).  I stamped my image from the Blessings of Home stamp set onto this piece of cardstock using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Once that was done, I took one of my small blocks and pressed it down into my Whisper White ink.  I used a Blender Pen to pick up the ink and paint in my flowers.  You can go as light or dark as you want with the white (I recommend doing the whole thing once and allowing it to dry and adding more if you desire then as it dries darker).  Once that was dry, I attached it to a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 2 3/8 x 3 7/8.  I adhered this to the left side of my card using Dimensionals.  I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to ½ x 4” and stamped my sentiment “HAVE A PERFECT BIRTHDAY” from the stamp set onto it using Night of Navy ink.  I added this to my card again using Dimensionals.  For my final touch I added three of the Pearl Basic Jewels.

For the inside of my card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and added a little strip of the DSP to the bottom of it that measured ¼ x 5 ¼”.  For the envelope I simply stamped that same floral image (slightly off the envelope) using Night of Navy ink.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
