Paper Easter Baskets

I wanted to create some little Easter Baskets for my customers as well as for the shut-in's from the church that I provide cards and other treats for on holidays.  So I got on YouTube and looked for some inspiration and low and behold there was a video my wonderful upline Karen Titus had done a long time ago.  I decided what size I wanted my finished baskets to be and got started.

Here are a couple pics of the basket (one from each side) when it is finished.

I started the process by picking out my paper (for these I decided to use some retired gingham paper that I had in my stash) any one you want to use will work great.  For the size of basket I wanted I decided to work with 6 x 6" Designer Series Paper.  You score the paper at 2" and 4" and rotate 90 degrees and score at 2" and 4" (now here is the key if you were working with larger paper you would still want to score it into thirds, so 9 x 9" would be scored at 3 and 6" and 12 x 12" would be scored at 4 and 8").  Once you have it scored cut along the score lines on the two opposing sides (see below).

Next we are going to get our basket going.  Bring the outer edge of the two outside flaps together and adhere (see below).

With this done we can now attach our handle (that way it is hidden).  So cut a piece of coordinating cardstock (I used Daffodil Delight) to 3/4 x 8 1/2" and curve the center just a little with your bone folder.  Attach on both sides under where the final flap will be adhered.  (see below)

Once your handle is attached just adhere your final flap up and start decorating.

For the decorations on my baskets I stamped the sentiment "Easter Blessings" from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock in Daffodil Delight ink and then punched it out using the Double Oval Punch.  I punched out the larger oval using that same punch from Daffodil Delight cardstock and layered the two.  I then used my Medium Daisy punch and punched out two daisies from Basic White cardstock.  I shaped the petals a little with my bone folder and adhered the two together.  I added a little Daffodil Delight ink in the center using a Dauber and added a gem from my stash.

These cute little baskets would make anyone smile.  I hope you try them out they would make great little table settings on an Easter table.   I will list a couple of the tools that helped me create these baskets below but remember the paper and colors are all up to you.  You can find the supplies for these and more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the photos below or the shopping cart above.
