Happy Valentine’s Day

I wanted to create a Valentine’s Day card and I have always loved the way Petal Pink and Gray Granite look together so I decided why not work with those colors.  I also wanted to try using my embossing folders in some new ways, so I thought ok why not punch out hearts and emboss them.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Petal Pink cardstock that is cut 4 ¼ x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.  I then took two small pieces of Gray Granite cardstock that measured ¾ x 5 ½” and die cut them using the border die from the Peony Garden die set (set these aside).  Next I cut a piece of the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper to 2 ¼ x 5 ½”.  I attached one of the borders to each side of this strip of Designer Series Paper and then centered that onto my cardbase.

Next, I punched out 3 of the scalloped hearts from the Heartfelt Bundle (it includes a stamp set and two heart punches) from Gray Granite cardstock and two of the regular hearts from the punch set out of Petal Pink.  I stamped my sentiment from the Heartfelt bundle onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Gray Granite ink and I punched it out as well.  I placed my two Petal Pink hearts into my Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder and embossed them.  I then layered my hearts together and added them to the front of my card.  I placed the pink and grey hearts directly onto the card and punched the sentiment heart up using Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Happy Thoughts

Today I wanted to showcase a new stamp set that was inspired by Million Sales Achiever Jackie Bolhuis, it is called Happy Thoughts.  I love the wonderful sentiments Jackie chose for this set.  It is a perfect sentiment set to go with any of your favorite image sets.  Additionally, it has sentiments for both the outside and inside of your cards.  The outside sentiments actually coordinate with several of the Stampin’ Up! punches including, the Everyday Label, Tailored Tag, Timeless Label and Story Label punches making is super flexible to use in cardmaking.

Here is what that stamp set looks like…

I decided to pair this stamp set up with some one of the Sale-A-Bration freebie’s which is the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper (free with a qualifying $50 purchase) and I am very happy with the result.  Here is the card I created…

The card base is Basic Black cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut my Designer Series Paper to 3 /4 x 5 ½” (2 each) and 2 ¼ x 5 ½” and attached them to the front of my card.  I stamped my sentiment “Happy Birthday” onto a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and I punched it out using the Tailored Tags Punch.  I took a little piece of the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon and made a little flag that I attached to the back of my punched sentiment and then I popped it up on the front of my card using dimensionals.  I added a couple of the small pearls that I colored using Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.

For the inside of my card, I chose another of Jackie’s sentiments from the set “Today is great because it’s all about you – The great person you are The great things that you do”.  I stamped this sentiment onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Sand & Sea Suite Continues

I have been highlighting different products from the Sand & Sea Suite in the new January – June Mini catalog.  This card was created using the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle, the Seashells 3 D Embossing Folder, the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper and the Pearlescent Specialty Paper.  So here is what I created using those products…

I started with a Seaside Spray card base that measured 8 ½ x 5 ½” and was scored at      4 ¼”.  I added a layer of the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper (DSP) that measured 4 x 5 ¼”, I chose one that is a blue marbled look.  I then die cut the large image from the die in the bundle out of the new Pearlescent Specialty Paper (I just love that pearl shine).  I then stamped each of the shells using the coordinating stamps in So Saffron, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride ink.  After I had the shells all stamped, I colored in my seaweed with my Light Granny Apple Green and Dark Soft Seafoam Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.  Once everything was stamped, I allowed the marker and ink to dry for a bit (it takes a little bit on this pearlized paper).

Once everything was good and dry, I put the die cut into the Seashell 3D Embossing Folder and embossed it.  I adhered the die cut to the Designer Series Paper and then I wrapped a piece of the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon around the whole layer and tied a nice square knot.  I used Dimensionals and popped this whole layer up onto my card base.  I die stamped my sentiment “love you to the beach & back” onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock using Seaside Spray ink.  I used those Tasteful Labels dies I so often use to die cut the little stitched flag out and I popped it up on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

I love that this card was actually pretty easy to make but is pretty dramatic looking.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the products listed below.

Berry Blessings

One of the fabulous free items you can earn during Sale-A-Bration is the Berry Blessings Stamp Set and Berry Delight Designer Series Paper (free with a $100 qualifying order).  So today I wanted to show you a card that you can create using these free items (actually, I think you could create a set of amazing cards with the bundle, maybe that is in my future).

Here is what that free set looks like...

And here is the card I made using it…

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Pacific Point cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” and a layer of the Designer Series Paper that measures 3 ¾ x 5”.  Next, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock using the Nature’s Thoughts Die.

In the upper left corner of this basic white layer, I stamped my background image for the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink and then stamped over it with the detail stamp and Old Olive ink (this is called a two-step stamp process).  I then lined up my berry background stamp and stamped it using Pacific Point in and then stamped over it with the detailed stamp and Night of Navy ink (do you see the definition in the berries, that is because this is a distinctive stamp and it automatically does that shading for you, how great is that).  I then stamped my sentiment “wishing you the berry best” in the bottom right-hand corner using Pacific Point ink.  For my final touch I popped this white layer up on Dimensionals.

This was a fast and easy card and would be great as part of a set of “berry” themed cards.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
