AN OLD OLIVE SHEPHERD

Today’s card features the Shepherd’s Care Stamp Set and the Seasons of Elegance 12 x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I focused on a simple stamped image and only colored the Shepherd’s head scarf to show that simple can be very effective.  I have to tell you this card taught me a trick I will be using again.  If you use Wink of Stella on an image and then color over it with your Stampin’ Blends Markers the sparkle is way more intense than doing it the other way around.  Unfortunately, no matter what I try I just can’t capture that sparkle in a picture.   

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Old Olive cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut a piece of the Seasons of Elegance 12 x 12” Specialty DSP and added it to the base.  I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 2 ¼ x 3 ¾” and stamped my Shepherd onto it using Old Olive Ink.  I let the ink dry for just a minute and then I brushed Wink of Stella on just the head scarf and let that dry for a few minutes.  Then I colored the head scarf going right over top of the Wink of Stella with my light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend Marker (I so wish you could see the affect it just shimmers).  I added this to a piece of Old Olive cardstock that I cut to 2 ½ x 4” and then mounted them onto the center of the card base using Dimensionals.  I stamped my sentiment (also from the set) “Peace ON Earth” onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Old Olive Ink and cut it out using a die from the Something Fancy Dies.  I added my sentiment using a Dimensional on the left where it was off the focal image and then just used adhesive where it was laying over the already popped image.

For the inside I selected one of the sentiments in the set (you can mix and match sets all you like) and stamped it onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” using Old Olive Ink.  There you have it, one super easy, super fast, yet elegant looking Christmas card done.
