SHEPHERD’S FUN FOLD IN PRETTY PEACOCK

Today’s card features the Shepherd’s Care Stamp Set along with the Seasons of Elegance 12 x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I knew as soon as I saw this stamp set I wanted it, I think the sentiments are perfect for not only Christmas but a sympathy card as well (I have already used it to make both).  Likewise when I saw the Seasons of Elegance Specialty DSP I fell in love with it, I had no plan on how I would use it but I knew I would figure it out so I ordered it the minute it was available to order.  This fun fold was inspired by a card I saw that Terri Gaines had created and I knew I wanted to check out, I see lots more of these cards in my future.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Pretty Peacock cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 1 ½” and 4 ¼”.  I folded the 4 ¼” score just like you would any card but then I folded the 1 ½” score line back across the top of the card toward the left.  Next, I cut a piece of the Seasons of Elegance 12 x 12” Specialty DSP to 4 x 5 ¼” (this paper has 2 sheets each of 6 different colors and designs but all are beautiful, my favorites are cherry cobbler, old olive and pretty peacock).  I attached this to the center front of my card adhering it only to the 1 ½” folded over piece of cardstock so it an swing open.  Then I took a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 2 ½ x 4” and stamped the Shepherd image onto it using Pretty Peacock Ink and cut it out using the 3rd largest of the Countryside Corners Dies.  I cut a piece of Pretty Peacock with the 2nd largest of the Countryside Corners Dies and layered my stamped white piece on top of it.  I added it to my DSP centering it and popping it up with Dimensionals.  For the final addition on the front of the card I stamped the sentiment “Peace ON Earth” from the stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Pretty Peacock Ink and die cut it out using one of the Stylish Shapes Dies and added it with Dimensionals.

NOTE:  I want to say this again, if you don’t have the dies that I list then use ones you do have, or just cut the images and sentiments out making them rectangles using your paper trimmer.  You don’t have to have every product to create beautiful cards.  The idea is to find inspiration.

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼”.  I stamped the sentiment “Praying THAT YOU WILL FEEL THE Good Shepherd’s CARE IN THIS Season AND THROUGHOUT THE Coming Year” from the stamp set using Pretty Peacock.  I also added the stamp that looks like a little village to the bottom right corner stamping it in Pretty Peacock as well.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
