Flowing Flowers

I am using the Flowing Flowers stamp set today.  I wanted to feature a card that showed a technique I have not posted about before.  I saw a card like this on Pinterest and I decided it was a great old technique that had kind of been forgotten but should be shared.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Soft Succulent cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped my sentiment “JUST A NOTE” from the stamp set onto it using Mango Melody ink.  Now for the technique, I flipped my card over onto my Simply Scored Scoring Tool and began to score every ¼” until I had added 10 score lines.  When you flip the card back over you have a really awesome affect.  I cut three squares of Basic White cardstock each 1 5/8 x 1 5/8” and stamped the flower from the stamp set onto each of them using Mango Melody, Soft Succulent and Mellow Mambo inks.  I popped these three squares up on my card using Dimensionals and added three of the Genial Gems.  This card was quick and easy and required little product to complete.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Shaded Summer

Today I wanted to feature a stamp set that is carrying over from the 2021 – 2022 catalog to the new 2022 – 2023 catalog.  The best part however is that the new catalog will also feature a coordinating die set.  This die set was previously available as a Sale-A-Bration reward sometime back but had since retired.  I am so happy to see it back because with it and the stamp set there are so many beautiful possibilities.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut to 4 ¼ x 11” and scored at 5 1/2” (I wanted to do something a little different so even though I have the card arranged as a landscape card I have it opening from the right to the left instead of the regular bottom to top).  I added a layer of Hand-Penned Designer Series paper that measures 4 x 5 ¼”.

I cut a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock to 3 ½ x 4” and stamped it all over using the Floral image from the stamp set and Gray Granite ink (NOTE:  I did stamp off twice on scrap paper before adding the image to my cardstock so it would be a light look).  I mounted this onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock that measured 3 ¾ x 4” and then attached that to the front of my layers slightly to the left of center.  I then stamped two of the smaller floral images onto Basic White cardstock using Gray Granite ink and die cut them with the coordinating dies.  I stamped the sentiment Love You, Friend onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured ½ x 3 1/3” using Blushing Bride ink.  I die cut three sets of bottom layers of the leaves from Basic Gray cardstock.  From the Basic White cardstock, I cut one of the solid layers of leaves, the bottom layer of the largest flower and the top layer of the smaller flower.  I cut the first layer of the larger flower, the bottom layer of the smaller flower and the single layer flower all from Blushing Bride cardstock.

To assemble the card, start by snipping one end of your sentiment off at an angle (this creates interest).  Assemble your layered flowers.  Now add the two bunches of flowers that you stamped and die cut onto the front of the card using Dimensionals.  Tuck the basic gray leaves and the basic white leaves in under the flowers and adhere them directly to the card base.  Next add your two layered flowers using Dimensionals.  Tuck the single flower under the layered flower and on top of the stamped flowers and adhere.  Add your sentiment using Dimensionals.

For the final step add Pearl Basic Jewels and Simply Elegant trim.  Stamp the smallest floral image on the inside and front of your envelope using Gray Granite ink.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Dahlia Days

Today I wanted to feature another bundle from the January – July 2022 mini catalog called Dahlia Days.  This bundle is really cute and has lots of different components that can be used to create a bunch of different looks.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Misty Moonlight cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Just Jade cardstock that measures 4 x 5 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 ¾ x 5” and embossed it using the Gingham Embossing Folder.  Next, I went to work on the other components of the card.  I stamped two of the Dahlia’s onto Basic White cardstock, one with Misty Moonlight ink and the other with Magenta Madness ink.  I also stamped two sets of the leaves onto Basic White cardstock using Shaded Spruce ink.  I then die cut the flowers and leaves using the coordinating dies from the bundle.

I added the flowers using Dimensionals and tucked the leaves up under them and adhered them directly to the card.  I stamped the sentiment “You made my day” onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured ¾ x 3” using Magenta Madness ink.  I did cut one end using the Lovely Labels Punch for added interest.  I also cut a piece of the 2020 – 2022 In Color Designer Series Paper (I chose to use the Misty Moonlight piece) to ½ x 3 ¼”.  I attached my sentiment at the top of the DSP and then using Dimensionals tucked them in under the Dahlias.  For my final additions I added a little Bumblebee Trinket and I stamped the Dahlia in Magenta Madness on the inside of the card and on the envelope.

Just a quick reminder that several of these products are retiring either at the end of the current annual catalog on May 3rd or at the end of the January – June Mini on July 1st so if you see something you would really like to have be sure to grab it before supplies are gone.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Relax

Today I wanted to feature another card created using the On the Horizon Bundle and the New Horizons Designer Series Paper.  I wanted something that was simple and could be used just to say hello.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Misty Moonlight cardstock (remember this cardstock is retiring so if you love it order it now) that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Gorgeous Grape over that that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  Next, I added a layer of the New Horizon DSP that measured 3 ¾ x 5”.

To decorate the card, I stamped the birds from the set in the top left corner using Tuxedo Black Mememento Ink.  I took a piece of Crumbcake cardstock that was about 1 ¾ x 3 ½” and I stamped the wood planks from the bundle onto it.  I used Crumbcake ink to do that stamping and then I added the sentiment from the bundle “Relax & Enjoy Your Day! using Early Espresso ink.  I cut it out using the coordinating die from the bundle.  Using the dies in the bundle I cut out the mountain base using Misty Moonlight cardstock, the overlay of the mountains in Basic White cardstock and the grass in Evening Evergreen cardstock.

I attached my mountain layers to one another and then using Dimensionals I added them to my card.  I adhered my grass to the bottom left of the card and then again using Dimensionals I added my sentiment to the car.  I created a triple bow from the Linen Thread and adhered it to the sentiment with a glue dot.  For the inside of the card and the envelope I added the grass from the stamp set using Soft Suede ink.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
