I am back today with another of my swap cards that I
prepared for the Stampin Up On-Stage event being held in Atlanta, Georgia. I am getting so excited to see all the new
products being revealed. But this card
uses a really cute stamp set from the Stampin Up Annual Catalog called Back On
Your Feet. I love the adorable little
animals in this stamp and the get-well sentiments are just perfect.
Isn’t this little turtle
too cute? Ok so for the card. I started with a basic card base that was
created from Whisper White cardstock that measured 5 ½ x 8 ½” and was scored at
4 ¼”. I then added a layer of Granny Apple
Green cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” (TIP:
cut your Granny Apple Green mat for your turtle and sentiment from this
layer before adhering it to the card base.
No one can see where you cut it and it is a great way to save some
paper). Next I cut a layer of Crumb Cake
cardstock to 3 ¾ x 5” and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing
folder. I use a sponge and added a
little Crumb Cake ink across this layer to make the embossing show up even
more.
Next, I stamped my little
turtle from the Back On Your Feet stamp set on to a piece of Whisper White
cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I then cut that out using the 4th largest Square from the
Layering Squares dies (I have to say these squares, the ovals and the circles
from the Layering dies are some of my most used tools). I then colored him in using the Stampin’
Blend Alcohol markers (I used the following combos: Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green)
these markers make shading and blending a breeze. I then layered this onto the Granny Apple
Green mat that I cut out of the first layer using the 4th largest of
the scalloped squares (also from that Layering Squares dies).
Now for the sentiment, I
stamped this cute sentiment (also from the Back On Your Feet set) onto a piece
of Whisper White cardstock using Granny Apple Green ink and cut it out using
the 2nd smallest oval from the Layering Ovals dies. I then matted that onto the scalloped oval
that I cut from that second layer of Granny Apple Green cardstock using the 2nd
smallest of the scalloped dies (also from the Layering Ovals dies).
To finish off the card I
simply added the turtle and sentiment to the front as shown in the photo (I
wanted my turtle to be a little tipped) using dimensionals for height and
interest. There you have it, a simple get-well card that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
As always you can find
all of the products used to make this card and many more projects on my website
at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net
or by clicking the shopping cart at the top of this blog or the photo of the
product below. I hope you enjoyed this
card.
Happy Crafting!!!
