A Simple Happy Anniversary

Sometimes we just need a fast and simple card.  Today I created one that was for an Anniversary.  However, this card could be adapted to pretty much anything.  I used the Elegantly Said Bundle to create it as well as the coordinating Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper.  Here it is…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I used the stamp set from the Elegantly Said Bundle and stamped the beautiful scroll work along the bottom of the card using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink (just cover about the bottom 1/3rd of the card).  Next I added a piece of the coordinating Simply Elegant DSP that measured 2 ½ x 5 ½” to the top of the card (I selected the paper that had the same scroll work as the stamp but in gold).  Next I added a small strip of Basic Black cardstock that measured ¾ x 5 ½” (this just covers the seam left from the DSP and adds a little interest as well).  I then stamped the sentiment “HAPPY Anniversary” from the same stamp set onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using VersaMark ink.  I added gold embossing powder from the Metallics Stampin’ Emboss Powder collection and heat set it with my Heat Tool (this makes for a very elegant sentiment).  I punched that out using the coordinating punch from the Elegantly Said Bundle.  I then punched a second piece out this time from Gold Foil which I used behind the sentiment.  To get this affect simply cut the gold foil piece in half and adhere it to the top and bottom of the sentiment punch allowing just a little to show.  I wrapped just a little of the gold twine from the Simply Elegant Trim (this is a twine that coordinates with this bundle that comes in a package with gold and silver) around the back of the sentiment punch just making two little circles on each side.  I then attached the whole thing to the front of the card using Dimensionals.

As you can see this is a super easy card to create and would be awesome with any number of sentiments.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Dragonfly Diamond Flip Card

Dragonfly Diamond Flip Card

I learned how to make this card from my awesome upline Karen.  I have been wanting to share the design with my customers for some time.  The great thing about this fun fold is that it can be used with tons of different papers, stamps, embellishments, etc.  I decided I wanted to use it with the have been having some fun with the Dragonfly Garden Bundle (which has carried over into the new annual catalog) and the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper (which is retiring at the end of June).

Here is what it looks like completed…

The card is not hard but explaining it can be so I am going to use some visual instructions this time and I hope they help.  So here is how the card base is created…

Now once you have that you can start on the other elements of the card.  I have photos with dimensions below for the main pieces.

You will also need a piece of Basic White cardstock that measures 3 x 4” for the inside of the card.  The triangle piece shown is created by cutting a 2 7/8” square and then cutting it in half from corner to corner (you will have a piece left for another card).  I stamped my sentiment “HELLO” which is from the Forever Fern stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Calypso Coral ink.  I also stamped on of the baby Dragonflies from the bundle onto the Basic White piece we are using for the inside of the card and colored them with Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends (this shade has retired but any coordinating color would work great) and added Wink of Stella (I did the same thing on the front left bottom corner of my envelope).  I stamped the Large Dragonfly from the bundle onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then I punched it out with the coordinating punch from the bundle.  I colored it using the Rich Razzleberry and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend markers.  I did add a little Wink of Stella to make it shimmer.  Both of these are added to the front of the card when assembly is completed.

To assemble the card, I adhered the larger piece of cardstock and DSP to the front of the card as shown in the picture of the completed card.  The second square we created gets adhered (only half is glued down) right onto the little triangle we created when we cut the card base.  (see the photos above).  I added my inside piece of Basic White and my triangle of Designer Series Paper.  The final touch was to add my Dragonfly with Mini Dimensionals (I used my bonefolder to make him look like his wings were in motion).  I also added my sentiment to the front using Mini Dimensionals and I wrapped a piece of the Mossy Meadow 3/16” trim (also retiring at the end of this month) around the card and tied a square knot.

I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope you enjoy it as well, let me know what you think.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

A Little Hello

I was super excited to find that the dies from the Pansy Patch bundle cut out flowers and leaves from the coordinating Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.  How cool is that, perfect flowers and leaves without even having to stamp.  I could not wait to try it out so I choose to recreate

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Soft Succulent cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  I die cut two of the Pansies and three of the Leaves from the Pansy Petals DSP using the dies from the Pansy Patch bundle and set them aside.  Next, I cut two strips of the DSP (one a Fresh Freesia gingham and the other a striped piece of different shade of green).  The gingham piece measured ½ x 3 ½”, the green strip measured ¾ x 3 ¾” and then I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured ½ x 3 ½” and I stamped my sentiment “A LITTLE hello FROM me TO you” onto it using the new Fresh Freesia ink.

To build my card I started by adding one of the Square Vellum Doilies directly onto the left side of the card.  I then layer my strips of DSP and my sentiment and pop them up using Dimensionals.  I add my two Pansies and three Leaves again using Dimensionals.  The final accessory is the adorable Bumblebee Trinkets (I just love these) which I attach using a rolled-up Glue Dot.

Because you can cut the flowers and leaves out of the DSP this card is a quick and easy one to assemble.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Whiskey Business

So many of us struggle to create masculine cards but I have found this Whiskey Business stamp set works great for them.  I created a birthday card and Father’s Day card using the set and some of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (love this paper, such a great neutral background for cards especially masculine ones).

Here is the Birthday Card first…

And here is the Father’s Day Card (I am looking forward to being with my Dad in Wisconsin this Father's Day and being able to give him this card)…

The cards are basically the same with a few little tweaks including some different sentiments.  The card base is Early Espresso cardstock that is cut 4 ¼ x 11” and scored at 5 ½” (so the card opens from the bottom to the top.  The wood grained layer is from the In Good Taste DSP and measures 4 x 5 ¼”.  I stamped the decanter and glass from the Whiskey Business stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it in using Stampin’ Blends which I will list below.  These two pieces will need to be fussy cut as there are no dies for this set.

I stamped the main sentiment for each card (Happy Birthday and Being a Dad is Whiskey Business) onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then punched it out using the Tailored Tag punch.  I also punched out one of the Tailored Tags from a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock which I cut in half the long ways.  I adhered that to the back of the Crumb Cake piece leaving a small reveal at the top and bottom.  I adhered my sentiments, decanter and glass to the from of my card using Dimensionals.

For the inside of both cards, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  For the Birthday card I stamped the sentiment “Sending you an Old-Fashioned Birthday Card” and for the Father’s Day card I stamped the sentiment “Straight Up You’re the Best” using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  For the Birthday Card I added a twist on the bottom and for the Father’s Day Card I added a glass and colored each.  I also made coordinating envelopes using the twist and the glass. (photo below)

My final addition was some Wink of Stella (doesn’t show up in photos) to the liquids in the decanters and glasses to make them shine like they are wet.  I am really happy with both cards I hope you enjoy them as well.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
