RED, WHITE AND BLACK

Today’s card features two new online exclusive bundles, Friendly Foliage and Banner Sayings along with a new embossing folder called Lovely Stripes which is also an oline exclusive.  I always love how dramatic red, white and black look together so I paired them today.  I used the Botanical Textures Designer Series paper which is all about black and white with some touches of gray.  The best part is this paper is in the last chance products and is on sale for just $7.50 a pack.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic Black cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” with the Lovely Stripes Embossing Folder (Available in January)  and added that to my card base.  Next, I cut a piece of the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper to 1 ½ x 5 ¼” and mounted it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that measured 2 x 5 ¼”.  I added that to the left side of the card over about ½” from the edge of the white cardstock layer.

Then I stamped my large foliage piece from the bundle onto Basic White cardstock with Cherry Cobbler Ink.  Once that was done, I cut it out using the coordinating dies.  There is a die that cuts just the outline and another you can add to cut out the inside.  I then used that solid die to cut a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock to place under my stamped and die cut image.  I added that to the center of my card using Dimensionals.

I then stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the Banners Sayings Bundle and used the coordinating punch to punch it out.  There are three different banners you can punch out with this single punch.  I also punched out one from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut it in half.  I then attached those two pieces to the back of either end of my sentiment for additional interest.  I added that to the front of my card adhering the left side with adhesive onto the foliage piece and the right side I popped up with a Dimensional.  To finish off the front of the card I added three black dots from the Neutral Matte Dots (now retired, but we all have lots of embellishments we can use).

For the inside of my card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped a line of the little leaf chain from the bundle up the side in Cherry Cobbler.  I did this same thing for my envelope.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
