Today’s card features the Florals In Bloom Designer Series Paper and the Blooming Phrases stamp set. Are you like me? Do you love a sale? Well I decided to create a card using some of the products that are currently on sale. So I used the Florals In Bloom DSP which is on sale for just $10.63 a pack during the month of August as well as two hits from the Last Chance list, Petunia Pop Ribbon and Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins. So that means I saved on three of my products which is always great.
Here is what I came up
with…
The card base is Petunia Pop cardstock cut
to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. I also
cut a piece of the Petunia Pop to 1 x 5 ¼ and embossed it with the Timeworn 3D
Embossing Folder (this folder is retired but there are lots of them in the
catalog that would work great, plus most of us have some favorites in our
stashes) and one to ¾ x 3 ½” to mount my sentiment on. I then cut my Florals In Bloom Designer
Series Paper. I cut one piece of 2 7/8 x
5 ¼” for the front of the card, one to ½ x 5 ¼” for the inside of my card and
one to 2 ¼ x 5 ¾” for my envelope flap (on the one for the flap remember to
keep in mind the direction of the design).
I also cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” for the inside
and one to ½ x 3 ¼” for my sentiment.
To assemble the card, attach the embossed
piece to the left side of the card base and the Designer Series Paper to the
right side of the card base leaving equal borders around each piece. Stamp the sentiment “hello there” from the
Blooming Phrases Stamp Set onto the small piece of Basic White cardstock with
Petunia Pop Ink (the tail of the word there will go off the paper and that is
fine). Mount that piece onto the piece
of ¾ x 3 ½” Petunia Pop cardstock. I
fashioned a bow without a knot for the back of the sentiment and adhered it
with tape then I added Dimensionals and popped the sentiment up about 3/4 of
the way down the card. I added three of
the Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins and that finished the front.
For the inside I simply added the ½ x 5 ¼”
strip of the DSP to the Basic White 4 x 5 ¼” insert and added it to the inside
of the card. For the envelope I adhered
my 2 ¼ x 5 ¾’ DSP to the envelope and trimmed around the envelope to make it
fit.
I hope you enjoy this card I certainly
