Today’s card features three of this years new In-Colors, Timid Tiger, Cloud Cover and Secret Sea along with the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper. I am seeing more and more cards being created with ripped cardstock so I decided to give it a whirl, here is what I came up with…
The card base is Timid Tiger cardstock cut
to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. I cut
a piece of Secret Sea cardstock to 4 x 5 ½” and then I tore it vertically. There is a trick to tearing, if you want to
see more of the tear then tear towards you.
I added this to my card base.
Next, I cut a piece of Cloud Cover cardstock to 2 ¾ x 5 ½” and added
that to the Secret Sea. For my Designer
Series Paper I started by cutting the 6 x 6” paper down to a piece that was 2 ½”
wide and then cut three pieces from that at 1 ¾” (keep them in order and your
design will be fluid on your card) and added them by placing the first and third
pieces right to the top and bottom edge while keeping the sides equally
spaced. With that all done it was easy
to place the center piece evenly.
Finally, I cut a scrap of the Cloud Cover cardstock to 5/8 x 2 1/8” and
stamped it with the sentiment “dear friend” from the Spotlight on Nature stamp
set (remember what I always say, if you don't have this set you can use a sentiment from any set you own and love just change the size of the sentiment layering accordingly) in Secret Sea Ink and added it to the front of my card popping it up with
Dimensionals.
