Today’s card features the Perfectly Pairs Bundle and the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper. I saw a post where Susan Campfield created several of these Horizontal Quadruple Z Fold cards and I knew I wanted to learn how to make one. It was not as hard as I initially thought it would be and I had a lot of fun figuring it out.
Here is what I came up
with…
The card base is Mossy Meadow cardstock
that measures 4,1’4 x 9”, scored at 1 ¾ and 3 ½”. I also cut 4 strips of Mossy Meadow cardstock
to 9 x ¾” and scored them at 1 ¾ and 3 ½”.
I folded the card base into a mountain fold at the 1 ¾” score line and
into a valley fold at the 3 ½” score line.
The strips are valley folded at the 1 ¾” score line and mountain folded
at the 3 ½” score line. Attach the
strips with the longest portion attached to the left flap of the base card and
then the smallest portion attached to the right of the card base. Each is attached equidistant from the other
(I found that if I used just a little seal, I could line them up and move them
around until they were right and then glue them permanently into place). Start with adding the strips for the top and
bottom aligning evenly with the base and then work the other two strips in
until they are all evenly spaced. This
finishes the base for the card.
To decorate the card, I cut my Painterly
Pears Designer Series Paper. I cut the
first piece of DSP to 1 ½ x 4” (be sure to watch the direction of the design). This attaches to the far-left side. Then I cut a piece of the DSP to 3 ½ x 2”
(again be sure your design in running up and down on the 2” side) and then cut
that piece into 4 pieces that measured ½ x 3 ½”. I attached these pieces to my strips making
sure to keep them in order so the design was consistent (this is not absolutely
necessary it is just how I prefer to do this part). For the right side of the card, I cut 4
pieces of Darling Duckling cardstock to ½ x 1 ½” and one piece to 1 ¼ x 4”, I
used the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder to emboss all five of these pieces
before adhering them. I added the one
large piece to the far right of the card and then the 4 small pieces to the strips
on that end.
To finish off the card I stamped the cute
little pears from the Perfectly Pairs bundle onto Basic White cardstock with Tuxedo
Black Memento Ink and then stamped the inside of the pears with Darling
Duckling Ink. For the stems and leaves I
used Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to color them in. Once I had my little pears all colored, I die
cut them with the coordinating die from the bundle. Then I cut the third largest of the stitched
circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies out of Darling Duckling. I added the circle to the front of my card
using Dimensionals and then added the little pears I stamped and die cut to it
again with Dimensionals. I stamped the
sentiment “Hello” also from the bundle onto a scrap of Basic White with Mossy
Meadow Ink and die cut it with one of the dies from the bundle. I added it to my circle again with Dimensionals. To finish off the card I added three of the Low-Profile
Sparkle Dots.
For the back of the card, I also cut a
piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped and colored the same small
pear image I used on the front of the card to the corner of it for the back of
my card so I could write my message there.
