Today’s card is all about featuring
the new All About Autumn 6 x 6” paper and making the best use of the scenes on
the papers. I could not wait to play
with this paper and here is what I came up with…
OPEN
CLOSED
The card base is Early Espresso cardstock cut
to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 1 ½” and 4 ¼”.The card base is folded in half at 4 ¼” and then the 1 ½” score is
folded back onto the front of the base.Next, I prepared my Designer Series Paper.First, I cut it to 5 ¼” tall and then
starting on the left I cut it at 2 ¾”, 1 1/8” and that left a piece that is 2
1/8”.
To assemble the card, I cut a piece of Cajun
Craze cardstock to 2 x 5 ¼” and embossed it with one of the Basics 3D Embossing
folders.I attached this to the left
side of the front of my card (yes some of it does go under the fold) leaving an
even reveal on the top, bottom and left side.
Now to start adding the DSP.I began with that first piece that measured 2
¾” and I adhered it to the scored piece that folds back onto the front of the
card (be sure to only add adhesive where it will be attached to the mossy
meadow cardstock).To do this I
positioned it with my card laying flat and closed and made sure to keep that
same even reveal on the top, bottom and right side. Then I opened my card and added my 1 1/8”
piece of DSP and then my 2 1/8” piece (remember to keep those even
reveals).
To finish off the card I added a piece of Very
Vanilla cardstock that measured 1 ¾ x 5 ¼” to the right side of the inside of
the card.I stamped a little acorn from
the Fruitful Blessings Stamp Set on the bottom right using Tuxedo Black Memento
Ink and the colored it in with Pecan Pie and Copper Clay Stampin’ Blends.Next, from that same stamp set I stamped the
sentiment “Grateful for You” onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock using Early
Espresso Ink.Once that was stamped, I
used the dies from the Nested Essentials Dies to die cut it out.I also cut the next largest of the dies out
of Early Espresso cardstock and layered the two before attaching it to the
front of my card using Dimensionals (remember not to attach the left side past
the DSP or it won’t open. For the final
addition I added three of the dots from the Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems.
I hope you enjoy this card I certainly
enjoyed making it. As always you can

Welcome
to the NC Demos Blog Hop! We are so glad you are here! You might have already
stopped by Tracie Evans Langley, the Sassy Stamper's post and know this month’s theme, but if you are just popping in this month’s themeis a little something.I love this
idea because with the holiday’s fast approaching it is the perfect time for
creating hostess gifts.So, I thought a
nice little box of cards would be just right.
Here is what I
came up with…
I
focused on the Masterfully Made 12 x 12” Designer Series Paper which I featured
on the box cover and on all five of my cards.I love how eclectic this paper is but one of the things I really wanted
to showcase was how it could be used with different stamps and dies.I used a different stamp set and dies on each
of the five cards to show just what you could do with the paper and the stamps
and dies you already have.I hope you
enjoy this set as much as I enjoyed making it.Thank you for letting me share my project. Please stop by
and see Laurie Meier's post. I know it will be great!
To
create my box, I started with the base.I cut my cardstock to 8 ½ x 9 7/8” and was scored at 1 and 2” on all
four sides, I used Lost Lagoon.I reenforced
all my score lines with my bone folder and cut away the excess as shown in the
photo below.
Once
that was done, I just had to assemble it.Here is a video that shows how to do that.
Now
for the top of the box I cut Lost Lagoon cardstock to 7 3/16 x 8 7/16” and
scored it on all four sides at 5/8 x 1 ¼”.Again, I reenforced all my score lines with my bone folder and cut away
the excess as shown above.Before
assembling the box, I went ahead and added my layers to the top.I started with a layer of Lemon Lime Twist
that measured 4 3/8 x 5 5/8”.Next came
a layer of Pretty Peacock that measured 4 1/8 x 5 3/8”.For my final layer I added a piece of the
Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper that measured 3 7/8 x 5 1/8”.Now assemble just like the bottom of the
box.
Now
for the cards…
CARD #1
I
started with a piece of Blueberry Bushell cardstock that measured 5 ½ x 8 ½”
scored at 4 ¼”. To that I added a layer
of the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper that measured 4 x 5 ¼”. Then I cut two pieces of the Soft Shimmer 12 x
12” Specialty Paper to 2 x 2” (I used pieces of the blueberry bushel and pretty
peacock colors) and I tore one end (remember to tear towards yourself for the
best affect). I also cut another piece
of the DSP to 2 ½ x 4” and tore it along the top. I added those shimmer papers to the back of
the DSP and then adhered them to the card front. I die cut two of the leaf stems from the
Artistic Dies one out of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and the other out of Vellum
cardstock and adhered them as well. I
stamped my sentiment from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set onto a piece of
Basic White cardstock that measured ½ x 3” with Blueberry Bushel ink. I adhered that to a piece of Berry Burst
cardstock that measured ¾ x 3” and popped the whole thing up with Dimensionals. For a final touch I added a triple bow made
from the Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon attached with a Mini Glue Dot and five
of the Tinsel Gems (they are part of a four pack of colors). For the inside (Basic White layer cut to 4 x
5 ¼”) and the envelope I stamped the rosette from the Artistically Inked Stamp
Set in Berry Burst Ink.
CARD #2
I began
with a piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock which I cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at
4 ¼”.I added a piece of the Masterfully
Made Designer Series Paper that measured 4 x 5 ¼” (don’t you love now the paper
looks all layered?).For this card I
decided to use the Timeless Arrangements Bundle from the Annual Catalog.I die cut the smaller of the stitched
rectangles from the dies in the bundle out of Bubble Bath cardstock and stamped
“thank you” in Berry Burst Ink.I cut
two of the larger leaf branches and the medium stitched rectangle out of the
Soft Shimmer 12 x 12” Specialty Paper (I used the berry burst color this time).I adhered the leaf branches to the back of
the rectangle and adhered that to the center of my card front.I used Dimensionals and popped up my sentiment. To finish off the front I added 7 for the
Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins.For the
inside of the card I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and
stamped the sentiment “YOUR KINDNESS MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME” in Berry Burst Ink.I added the little leaf branch stamp from the
bundle in Berry Burst Ink to the inside and the envelope and then just brushed
them while still damp with Wink of Stella to add some color and sparkle.
CARD 3
For
this card I started with Real Red cardstock that measured 8 ½ x 5 ½” scored at
4 ¼”.I then cut a layer of Lost Lagoon
cardstock to 3 ¾ x 5” and embossed it with one of the Basics 3D Embossing
Folder (note: when I adhered the piece to my card front, I put the debossed
side up for extra interest).Next, I cut
another piece of Real Red cardstock this time to 2 ½ x 4 ¾” and I embossed it
with that same embossing folder and centered it on the card. For my next layer I added a piece of Parakeet
Party cardstock that measured 2 ¼ x 4 ½” (again embossed with that same folder,
I am telling you this folder is very versatile and one of my go to favorites).Once that was all done, I cut a piece of the
Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper to 3 x 3” and mounted it onto a piece of
Real Red cardstock that measured 3 ¼ x 3 ¼” and popped that up onto the left
side of my card with Dimensionals. For
my final addition I die cut the second from the smallest of the circles from
the Stylish Shapes Dies out of Lost Lagoon and stamped the sentiment “HELLO
friend” from the Fruitful Blessings Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.For the inside I cut a piece of Basic White
cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped the little leave stem from the stamp set in
Parakeet Party Ink and added a little Wink of Stella to it (the envelope has
the same stamp).
CARD 4
The
card base for this card is Berry Burst cardstock cut to 4 ¼ x 11” and scored at
5 ½” (it opens from the bottom up).I
added a piece of the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper that measured 2 ½ x
3 ½” to the card base about ¼” from the right side.Next, I used the Nested Essentials Dies and I
die cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock out of the largest of the dies and
a piece of the Designer Series Paper out of the 2nd largest of the
dies and adhered them together.I popped
this up on the center of the card front about ¼” from the left side using Dimensionals.I cut a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock to ½
x 1 ½” and stamped my sentiment “just a NOTE” from the Inked & Tiles Stamp Set
in Berry Burst Ink and then I cut a little piece of the Designer Series Paper
to ½ x 2” and adhered it behind the sentiment.I added that to the card using Dimensionals. For a final addition I added three of the
Tinsel Gems. For the inside of the card,
I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped it with one of
the flowers from the stamp set.I also
stamped the flower onto the envelope. To
get the flower in two colors I used the Berry Burst and Pretty Peacock Stampin’
Write Markers from the 2023 New Core Color Collection and colored directly onto
the stamp and then exhaled onto it and stamped.
CARD 5
For my
final card I wanted to have some fun so I used several techniques.I started with a piece of Berry Burst
cardstock that measured 5 ½ x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”.Then I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock
to 3 ½ x 5”.I cut strips of several of
the pieces of the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (this is a great
technique to use up scraps) to ½”.I
started in the center and added the strips diagonally until my whole white
layer was covered (just let the excess hang off the edges).Once it was completely covered, I turned it
over and trimmed off the excess. Then I
took that layer and embossed it again using my trusty Basics 3D Embossing Folder
to give it even more texture (plus it makes the seams between the strips just
disappear).I adhered that to the center
of my card. Then I cut a piece of Basic
White cardstock to 2 ½ x 2 ½” and stamped it with an image from the In The
Moment Stamp Set.I water colored the
image using the 2023 New Core Colors Collection of Stampin’ Write Markers (see
my blog post from August 8th for information and a link to a video
that shows just how to do this). When I
was finished with the coloring, I adhered this to a piece of Pretty Peacock
cardstock that measured 2 ¾ x 2 ¾” and I popped it up on the center of the card
using Dimensionals.I cut a piece of
Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped the sentiment “SOMETIMES THE MOST
PRODUCTIVE THING YOU CAN DO IS RELAX” in Berry Burst Ink.I also added a strip of the Designer Series
Paper to the bottom of the inside that is also ½”.For the envelope I simply added Designer
Series Paper to the flap.
So
that is it, five cards with a coordinating gift box.The perfect hostess gift for the
holidays.I will also be creating
several sets of these to give to the amazing staff who take care of my Mother-In-Law
at her assisted living facility.
