Happiness Abounds When It’s Your Birthday

Today’s card once again features the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  Today I simply cut strips, that’s right simple strips of the right designer series paper can make a beautiful card.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut two strips of the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, the first was the floral and it was cut to 2 x 5 ¼” and the second was this beautiful ombre paper that is the back side of one of the floral pieces, it was cut to 1 x 5 ¼”.  I adhered the two strips to the card base as shown.  I then used the dies from the bundle to die cut three flowers and three sets of leaves from the paper (how easy is that, no stamping but quick beautiful images) of course if you are like one of my friends you might prefer to fussy cut out all the flowers.  I sat these aside while I prepared my sentiment.  I stamped my sentiment “ happy birthday” from the stamp set in the bundle onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Gorgeous Grape Ink and then die cut it using one of the dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I added Dimensionals to my sentiment and all my flowers and leaves and simply moved things around until I got the look I wanted and then I attached everything.  For my final embellishment I added three of the Pastel Pearls.  As you can see this is a quick and simple card with minimal stamping required.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

More Fun With Strips of Designer Series Paper

Today’s card features some more of the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  The last couple cards were well received so I wanted to show one more.  This card uses an additional strip of the ombre colored DSP and I am really liking the affect.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut my Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper into strips, the first one I cut was the ombre and I chose to use the end that was mainly pinks and yellows to go with the floral piece I picked for the center.  I cut two ombre pieces to 1 x 5 ¼” and one of the floral pieces to 1 7/8 x 5 ¼”.  I attached each to the card placing the floral in the center and attaching it first.  I then just added the other two equidistant for one another.  I stamped my sentiment from the stamp in the Happiness Abounds Bundle “friend” onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured ¾ x 3 1/8” using Melon Mambo Ink.  I then attached that piece to a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock that measured 1 x 3 1/8” and I cut the right side at an angle for added interest.  I attached this to my card using Dimensionals.  I then used the dies from the Happiness Abounds Bundle to cut out one flower and two sets of leaves and attached them using Dimensionals.  For my final addition I added three of the Pastel Pearls.  Another simple yet classy card to send of to a friend.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Triple Time

Today I decided to play around a little more with the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  I created three different cards by simply changing up the color of the card base and what layer I used.  I hope this will show how you can use the same paper and layout and get a totally different look on a card.  Here is what I came up with…

Card 1 – Melon Mambo

The card base is Melon Mambo cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.   I then cut a layer of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 1/3” and used the Stitched Greenery Die to add stitched leaves over the entire piece.  Next, I cut a piece of my Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to 3 x 4” and mounted that onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock that measured 3 ¼ x 4 ¼” and added that to the center of the card using Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment “You are wonderful in everyway” from the stamp set in the Happiness Abounds Bundle onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Melon Mambo ink and die cut it using one of the tag dies from the Designer Tags Dies.  I tied a bow around the die cut using the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon and added the tag to the center of the card using Dimensionals.  For my final addition to this card I die cut one of the flowers from the Designer Series Paper and added it to my card (it is really awesome that three of the dies cut flowers from the paper and two cut leaves).

Card 2 – Daffodil Delight

The card base is Daffodil Delight cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.   I then cut a layer of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 1/3” and used the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder to emboss it.  Next, I cut a piece of my Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to 3 x 4” and mounted that onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock that measured 3 ¼ x 4 ¼” and added that to the center of the card using Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the stamp set in the Happiness Abounds Bundle onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Daffodil Delight ink and die cut it using one of the dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I die cut one of the flowers from the Designer Series Paper and added it to my card and then I tied a bow using the Starry Sky Metallic Ribbon and added it to the card using a Mini Glue Dot.

Card 3 – Balmy Blue

The card base is Balmy Blue cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.   I then cut a layer of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 1/3” and used the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder to emboss it.  Next, I cut a piece of my Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to 3 x 4” and mounted that onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock that measured 3 ¼ x 4 ¼” and added that to the center of the card using Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment “Wishing you all the happiness you can imagine” from the stamp set in the Happiness Abounds Bundle onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Balmy Blue ink and die cut it using one of the dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I die cut one of the flowers from the Designer Series Paper and added it to my card and then I tied a bow using the Balmy Blue/White Variegated Ribbon and added it to the card using a Mini Glue Dot.

I would love to know which one you like the best.  I hope you enjoy these cards as much as I enjoyed making them.  As always you can find the supplies to create these cards and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Happiness Abounds

Today’s card features the beautiful Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  This paper is great because many of the flowers and leaves can be cut directly out of it using the dies from the Bundle.  This makes for some quick and easy cards.  I wanted to really showcase how beautiful the paper is and here is what I came up with…

The card base is Gorgeous Grape cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut two pieces of the Designer Series Paper.  One was cut from the floral sheet and it was cut to 3 x 4” and the second was cut from the paper that has a rainbow affect on it and it is 3 x 5”.  Each of these were mounted onto Basic Black cardstock, one cut to 3 ¼ x 4 ¼” and the second cut to 3 ¼ x 5 ¼”.  I mounted the rainbow-colored cardstock first, over on the right side of the card and I adhered it directly to the card base.  Next, I added the floral piece to the left center of the card using Dimensionals.  I stamped my sentiment “friend” (from the stamp set in the Happiness Abounds Bundle) onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured ¾ x 2 ½” using Melon Mambo Ink and added that to a piece of Basic Black cardstock that measured 1 x 2 ¾”.  I added a Pastel Pearl to the sentiment and then added it to the front of the card.

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped the sentiment “Wishing you all the happiness you can imagine” (also from the stamp set in the bundle) with Melon Mambo ink.  I die cut one of the flowers from the Designer Series Paper using the dies from the bundle and attached it inside my card.

For my envelope I stamped one of the flowers from the stamp set again using Melon Mambo Ink and using my Wink of Stella I picked up some of the color and colored in the flower.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
