TECHNIQUE TUESDAY - ALCOHOL BLENDING

Today’s card features a technique that uses 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and Stampin’ Blends Markers on Vellum to create a beautiful affect.  I also used some of the Gilded Leafing onto the vellum for a really nice affect.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Pretty Peacock cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Vellum cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and started the technique which I walk through on the video.

The card base is Pretty Peacock cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Vellum cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and started the technique which I walk through on the video.  When completed I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and sponged a thin layer on the same side that I applied the ink and glued that down to a piece of Basic White cardstock that also measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  I mounted this onto my card base using Dimensionals.  I added the branch of leaves from the Artistic Dies that I had die cut out of Gold Foil paper (I used that same sponge and glue method here) and adhered it to the front of the card.  I stamped my sentiment “hello” in Pretty Peacock to a scrap of Basic White cardstock and die cut it using one of the dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered that as well.  A full list of the products I used is listed below.

I hope you enjoy this technique and card I certainly enjoyed sharing it with you.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:

AUTUMN LEAVES

Today’s card features the ever popular All About Autumn Designer Series Paper.  I paired that with the Aspin Tree Dies and the Pearched in a Tree Stamp Set.  I love the fall and the colors of fall especially in cardmaking.  I wanted to pair this beautiful paper with something that I have had around for awhile so I chose to use some items from the Annual Catalog as well as the current mini catalog.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Cajun Craze cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper that was cut to 4 x 5 ¼”.  Then I die cut the two aspen leaves from the Aspen Tree Dies out of scraps of Cajun Craze Cardstock (one large and one small).  I die cut the third from the smallest of the dies from the Countryside Corners Dies out of Cajun Craze for my sentiment.  I stamped my sentiment “NO MATTER THE SEASON I am here for you” using VersaMark Ink and then added Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it.

To put the card together I took a piece of the linen ribbon from the Copper and Natural Ribbon about 4” long and cut it down the center to make two pieces of ribbon.  I tied the ribbon in a knot at the center and began shredding it (I show this on a YouTube Video at:

I added that across the center of my card and then added my sentiment piece over the top of it using Dimensionals.  I put Dimensionals under each of the leaves and then tucked them up under the sentiment.  My final addition was one of the Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:

GREATFUL HEART

Today’s card features the new Autumn Leaves Bundle and the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper.  This paper has been very popular and has sold out a number of times since it ways introduced but it is back in stock.  I love the way the Pretty Peacock works with the Pumpkin Pie so I wanted to showcase both in this card.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Pretty Peacock cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut pieces of the All About Autumn DSP to 1 1.4 x 3 5/8” (x2) (this is the peacock and copper side) and one to 2 ¼ X 3 5/8” (this is the pumpkin side).  I then cut my Distressed Gold Specialty paper to 1 3/8 x 3 ¾” (x2) and one at 2 3/8 x 3 ¾” and mounted my DSP onto them.  I popped these up on the card base using Dimensionals.  For my sentiment I chose the “with a grateful heart” from the bundle and stamped it in Pretty Peacock onto a scrap of Pumpkin Pie cardstock that I then die cut using one of the dies from the bundle (I love these little label dies that are included in the bundle) and attached it to the left side of the card centered on where the bottom two layers of the DSP meet.  I cut two leaves from scraps of the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and one from the Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper.  I added the two gold ones at the top of the card and put on a triple Linen Thread bow with a Mini Glue Dot.  The Soft Shimmer one was cut from the Pretty Peacock shimmer paper and it was mounted on a Dimensional and tucked up under my sentiment.  I am loving how these colors play off each other.

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY - MAKING A MASK

Technique Tuesday – Making a Mask (11- 7-2023)

Today’s card features the Translucent Florals Bundle and the use of Window Sheets to create your own masks.  I really like this bundle and the leaf die is perfect for this technique.  I tried to use some bright colors with a nice subtle background.  Here is what I came up with…

Instructions:

Smokey Slate cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.

Use Whisper White Ink and a Sponge Dauber to color in the mask you create using the Window Sheet.

Randomly stamp the little stems from the bundle all over the card front using Smoky Slate Ink.

On Basic White cardstock stamp two of the leaf stem from the bundle in Parakeet Party Ink and then die cut and popped up on the card with Dimensionals.

Stamp Happy Birthday sentiment from the bundle onto Basic White cardstock using Bubble Bath ink and then die cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies.  Cut Bubble Bath Ribbon from the Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack cut approximately 3” long and add to the back of the sentiment label and popped up on the card with Dimensionals.

Add three white dots from the Classic Matte Dots.

Basic White cardstock cut to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped with the little stem in Smokey Ink for the inside of the card.

HORSE & SLEIGH BRIDGE CARD

Today’s card features two great online exclusive products the Horse & Sleigh Bundle and the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.  These new products have been a delight to work with.  They coordinate so well with one another it is like the cards make themselves.  Today I wanted to make a bridge card here is what I came up with…

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock cut to 4 ¼ x 8” scored at 1 ¼ and 2 ½” from each of the two sides.  Then it is folded in a mountain, valley, valley, mountain fold (this allows it to stand up nice for presentation).  To this I added my Designer Series Paper that is from the One Horse Open Sleigh paper pack.  I used two pieces of the DSP that were the same but you could simply use some embossed cardstock for the two inside panels.  I started by cutting my 6 x 6” piece down to 4” tall (save one of these pieces for the bridge).  Then I cut a 1 x 4”, 1 x 4”, 2 ¾ x 4” from paper 1 and then two additional 1 x 4” from paper 2.  I adhered those to my card base.

For my bridge I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock that was 1 ¼” x 5 ½”.  I adhered this even with each end of my card (the card should stand open as shown and fold flat for mailing).  I took some of that leftover DSP from the previous cuts (I had cut it off the bottom of the DSP so it was primarily snow) and cut it down to 1 1/8 x 5 3/8” and adhered that to my bridge.  So that is the base for the card.

Next, I stamped my horse and sleigh from the bundle onto Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut it out using the coordinating die from the bundle.  I colored it using the Stampin’ Blends listed below (note: I did not use the Bronze just the ivory from that set) and added it to my bridge using Dimensionals.  For the back of my card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 2 ¾ x 4” and I stamped the sentiments “WISHING YOU A Season of Cheer” and “AND A happy new year” onto it using Night of Navy ink.  This gave me a place to sign my card as there is no where to do that on the front.
