Easel Sympathy Card

Today’s card was created using one of the new bundle called Countryside Corners, the new Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and it features one of the new In Colors – Boho Blue.  No one likes that we need them but having some nice sympathy cards on hand is always a good idea so that is what I decided to create.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Boho Blue cardstock cut to 8 ½ x 11”, scored at 2 1/8”, and 4 ¼”.  Fold like a normal card at the 4 ¼” scoreline and then mountain fold at the 2 1/8” scoreline.  I added pieces of the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper (3 each cut to 2 x 5 3/8”) two to the two sections on the front of the card and one to the bottom of the inside of the card.  I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 2 x 5 3/8” and added that to the top of the inside of the card for a place to write your note.

I took Basic White cardstock about a 3 ¾” x 5 ½” piece and stamped the Countryside Corners stamp onto it using Boho Blue Ink.  I die cut out the two smaller sections from the middle and attached the larger of the two to the center bottom of the inside of my card.  I stamped the sentiment “Thinking of You” from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set onto the smaller one using Night of Navy Ink and attached it to the center of the other one using Dimensionals.  That finished up the inside.

To create the front of the card which stands up to make the easel I used the largest of the Countryside Corners dies from the bundle and cut it out of a piece of Night of Navy cardstock that measured 3 ¾ x 5 ½”.  Then I took the second largest and third largest die and cut out that section of the stamped image (this leaves some other pieces but that is fine because you can use them on other projects) and added it to the Night of Navy piece.  Next, I took a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 3 x 4 ½” and the third largest die from the bundle and die cut it.  I stamped the sentiment “With Deepest Sympathy” onto the bottom right using Night of Navy Ink.  Then I stamped one of the flowers from the Two Tone Flora Stamp Set onto this piece using Boho Blue and Night of Navy Ink to the left.  I attached this stamped piece inside the other two pieces and then I attached it to the card front using Dimensionals and only adhered the bottom half so it would pop up when the easel was opened.   To finish off the card I added a bow made from Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon which was attached to the card with a Mini Glue Dot.  I added three of the Boho Blue Dots from the 2023 – 2025 In Color Dots.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

A Little Irresistible

Today’s card features the Irresistible Blooms Bundle and Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper that are new features in the Stampin’ Up! Online Exclusives.  These are products that are available to purchase either online or through a demonstrator but that are not being featured in any of the current catalogs.  I am in love with this suite, I especially love that I can die cut the flowers and leaves out of the coordinating Designer Series Paper an have a card in minutes.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock to 2 1/8 x 5 3/8” and to this a added a piece of the beautiful Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper that measures 2 x 5 ¼”.  I attached this to the left of the card about 1/8” from the left side.  Next, I cut out two of the Taylor Made Tags dies (one in Basic White and one in Flirty Flamingo).  I stamped my sentiment (from the bundle) “hello” on the bottom of the white tag using Flirty Flamingo ink.  I used one of the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders and I embossed the entire Flirty Flamingo tag and for the white one I embossed just to the top of the sentiment.  I attached these to my card front and added a white bow (this ribbon is retired but you can use any ribbon you have that coordinates).  I then grabbed my Designer Series Paper and selected two flowers and two leaves from it and die cut them using the dies in the bundle.  I added these to the front of my card using Dimensionals.  For my final embellishment I added three of the Loose Frosted Dots that coordinate with this suite.  For my envelope and the inside of the card I simply stamped one of the floral images using Flirty Flamingo Ink.

Because you use the Designer Series Paper to die cut your focal point on this card it comes together really quickly.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Simple Layout

Today’s card features the new Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and the new Countryside Corners Dies along with the Something Fancy and the Hope and Prayer stamp sets.  It is a very simple yet effective card layout that can be used over and over just by switching out the DSP and or sentiments.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 ¼ x 4 5/8” and to that I added four pieces of the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper that measured 1 x 3” (so as you can see you can make a bunch of cards out of a pack of 12 x 12” paper).  When I had my DSP attached to the Basic White Layer I just centered that on the card base.  I stamped my sentiment “with deepest sympathy” onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and die cut it using one of the dies from the Countryside Corners Dies.  I then die cut a piece of Night of Navy scrap using the next largest die from the set.  I adhered the white to the navy and then popped the whole sentiment up right on the center of the card using Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I choose to use the sentiment “You are in my Prayers” from the Hope & Prayer stamp set.  I stamped it onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” using Night of Navy Ink.  Then for my envelope I chose to use the cross from the set and stamped it onto the envelope again using Night of Navy Ink.

As you can see this is a pretty fast and simple card but quite effective.  I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

2 4 6 8 Fun Fold Card

Today’s card is a fun fold card that is really cute, it is called the 2 4 6 8 fold and you will understand that name very soon.  I used the new Circles Sayings Bundle to create this card.  This set is really cute and makes some great cards.  I did use some retired Designer Series Paper because this card is a great example of a way to use up some of that older Designer Series Paper you have laying around.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Balmy Blue cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  Next, I cut my Designer Series Paper to 5 ¼ x 12” and scored it at (you guessed it) 2”, 4”, 6” and 8”.  I started my folding at the left side, I made a mountain fold, a valley fold, a mountain fold and then another valley fold.  Once these were all burnished with my bonefolder I adhered the 4 x 5 ¼” end to my card base.  I then simply adhered each of the mountain folds to the back of the valley fold.

To decorate the card, I started with the inside and cut a piece of Basic White cardstock using the Scalloped Contours Dies and stamped it with the sentiment “Wishing you a little extra happiness just because you’re you” from the Pansy Patch stamp set using Blackberry Bliss Ink.

Now onto the circles, I die cut two pieces of Balmy Blue cardstock using the second largest of the stitched circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I then punched out two Basic White circles using the 2 3/8” circle punch from the Circle Sayings Bundle.  I used the coordinating stamps from the bundle for my stamping.  I started with “Celebrate” done in a circle and stamped it with Blackberry Bliss ink.  I then added the cupcake and stamped it using Balmy Blue ink (I did add Wink of Stella to the icing).  I attached this to one of the Balmy Blue circles and attached it to the first flap of my card.  I then took the second circle and stamped the flowers from the set (twice, once on the top of the circle and once on the bottom) in Balmy Blue ink.  I added the sentiment from the set “Happy Birthday” using Daffodil Delight ink.  Once that was done I attached it to the second Balmy Blue circle and attached that to the second flap of my card.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Cute Gift Bag/Box

I had a friend ask me if I knew how to make the bag/box featured on page 62 of the new 2023 – 2024 Annual Catalog.  Well, I didn’t know but I thought I could figure it out so that is just what I did.  I liked the result so much I made to hold my thank you gifts for my catalog kick off open house.  Here is the result of my efforts…

Creating them was much easier than I thought.  I started with a piece of cardstock that measured 6 ¼” x 11”.  I scored at 1” on the 6 ¼” side (this becomes the bottom).  I scored the 11” side at 1”, 5”, 6” and 10”.  (see diagram below)

Once I had all the scoring done, I removed the parts that I didn’t need.  (see the X’s on the diagram below) removing this debulks the bag so it closes up nicely.  Next, I punched holes in (two in each of the 4” areas) down ½” from the top and over 1 1/8” from the score lines (this will allow for the addition of ribbon handles).  I also added score tape as shown in the diagram.  Now just fold the two 1” ends together leaving the one with the tab on top and secure.  Flip the bag/box upside down and tuck in the smaller tabs, then the tab that has the smaller slits cut into it and then cover all of that with the tab that is cut square.

Now all that remained was to decorate.  I added two pieces of ribbon to each side (10” long) and tied a knot on the inside so they would not pull back through to make my handles.  I then took a piece of cardstock that measured 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” and embossed it using the Countryside Blossoms Embossing folder and attached it to the front of my bag/box using Dimensionals.  For my final decorations I used the Circles Sayings Bundle.  I punch out a 2 3/8” circle from Basic White cardstock and stamped it using the Thank You and flower stamps from the set using the same color ink I used for the bag.  I made mine all different using all different colors of cardstock and ink.  The one shown in the photo at the top was made using Blueberry Bushel.

Below is a list of products I used to create this project but know that you could use any color cardstock and ink as well as any embossing folder.  Don't be afraid to try this it is much easier than it appears.  I hope you enjoy this project I sure had fun figuring out how to make it.  Happy Crafting!!!
