Twist Easel Card

I am still having some fun playing with the Forever Greenery Suite.  Today’s card is another fun fold, it is a twist Easel Card and here is what it looks like all closed up and ready for the envelope…

And here is what it looks like twisted and opened up for display...

The card base is Pretty Peacock card stock that is cut 4 ¼ x 9 ¾” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then took the bottom right corner of the 4 ¼” side and folded it up to meet the top left corner making a triangle (be sure to burnish this well with your bone folder for good solid creases.  Set this aside for assembly later.

Now let’s create the front of the card.  I cut a piece of Pretty Peacock that measured 4 ¼ x 5 ½”.  To this I added two strips of the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper that measured 1 x 5 ½” (one to the top and one to the bottom.  I then used the Forever Flourishing dies to cut two large ferns (one from Soft Seafoam and one from Pretty Peacock card stock).  I also cut the little piece for the front of the sentiment out of Pretty Peacock using that same die set.  For my Gold Foil accents I used one of the dies from the Sunflower Dies and cut it twice.  I attached these to the center of my card front.

For the sentiment I used the Happy Birthday stamp from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and stamped it onto Whisper White card stock using Pretty Peacock ink.  I then die cut it using the second largest circle from the Stitched Shapes dies.  To this I added one of the beautiful Gold Hoops Embellishments from the suite (I glued it on using the Fine Tip Glue Pen).  I added my little Pretty Peacock greenery and a little gold bow made from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack using a Mini Glue Dot.  I then placed this on the center of the card front using dimensionals.

Once my entire card front was completed, I adhered it to my base just on the triangle that was exposed so my card could open and twist.  For the final touch on the front I added three little Champaign Rhinestones.  For the inside of the card I added a piece of Whisper White card stock that measured 4 x 4 3/8” and another strip of Designer Series Paper that measured ¾ x 4”.  To keep my card twisted and open I added one of the largest of the Champaign Rhinestones to hold it in place (I centered it on the far right of the Whisper White).

I am really happy with the final results and I hope you enjoy this card.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Water Colored Prized Peony

I really enjoy water coloring using my re-inkers, I think I find the coloring soothing and since you have lines made from the embossing powder that the ink doesn’t run out of it makes it easy to color within the lines, LOL.   Today I decided to do some water coloring using the Prized Peony bundle which is just beautiful.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Whisper White cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  For the second layer I cut a piece of Soft Seafoam cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and embossed it using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

For my flowers I stamped the largest of the Peony images from the Prized Peony Bundle onto Shimmery White cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed it using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my trusty Heat Tool.  I then stamped two of the single flowers and several of the leaves onto Shimmery White cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed them using the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Once everything was stamped, I started to color my flowers.  For this I used the following re-inkers (you could also use your stamp pad by simply pushing an acrylic block into it or squeezing the lid of the ink down into the pad to create a puddle of ink):  Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Daffodil Delight.  I just added a little water into my ink and started to paint my flowers using my Water Painters.  I love the affect, and if you want a little more intense color just let it dry and once it is just adding a little more color.  Once everything was colored and dried, I cut it out using the coordinating dies from the bundle.

I attached my flowers and leaves to my card base using Dimensionals.  For my final embellishments I stamped the work “Hello” from the Forever Fern stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Soft Seafoam ink and cut it out using one of the dies from the Tasteful Labels dies. Three little Rhinestone Basic Jewels are the final touch.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Stamp, Ink and Paper

Today I wanted to show that a card can be created using minimal supplies.   So, the card I created used a stamp set, I chose to use the Rooted In Nature set, some ink and some cardstock.  Here is what I created...

The card base is Basic Black cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”.  To create my card front I cut 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock.  One was 4 x 5 ¼” and the second was 4 x 2 ½”.  I placed my smaller piece of Whisper White onto my larger piece and tacked it in place using temporary adhesive.  I stamped the large tree from the Rooted in Nature stamp set onto them (letting my stamp hang off the smaller of the two pieces) using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Once my image was stamped, I separated the two pieces of Whisper White cardstock and started my coloring process.  I used Stamping Sponges (I cut mine into 6 – 8 wedges) to get my colors onto my image.  First, I started with Daffodil Delight and began adding color to the right side of my piece.  Then I moved to Cajun Craze and added it to the center (I did overlap the Daffodil Delight to get another color) and then I finished with Cherry Cobbler (I again overlapped the colors to get yet another tone).  Once I was happy with my image, I mounted everything onto my card base.

I adhered the stamped and colored image onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock that measured 2 5/8 x 4 1/8”.  I then adhered this to the larger Whisper White layer matching up the stamped image of the tree.  Then I adhered the entire piece onto my card base.

For the inside of the card I just stamped a leaf image from the same stamp set, using Cajun Craze ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.

So, there you have it, a card made using a stamp, paper and ink, I hope you enjoy it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
