Nature’s Prints

Today I am featuring another great bundle from the new 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalog.  This bundle is called Nature’s Prints and I love all the products in the collection (I am only using a few of them today but stay tuned to see more soon).  I have been trying hard to create cards that are a little less fussy and require a few less products than some cards I make.  Sometimes simple is just better.  Today it was all about sticking with two colors and making the card pop.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and embossed it using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder (which is great with this bundle).  I then stamped my fern from the Nature’s Prints Bundle onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using the new Orchid Oasis Ink and die cut it with the coordinating die from the bundle.  I also cut three of the greenery pieces from Orchid Oasis cardstock.  I stamped my sentiment “You’re on My Mind” onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and die cut it using the beautiful label die from the bundle.  I popped this up on the center of the card using Dimensionals.  For my final addition I added a bow that was made using the Orchid Oasis Ribbon and adhered with a Glue Dot.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Cottage Rose

Today I wanted to feature one of the beautiful new stamp sets from the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalog.  This one is called Cottage Rose and it is beautiful.  I decided to do some coloring with color pencils using this stamp and I am very happy with the result.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Smoky Slate cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of Basic Gray cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  Next, I cut a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock to 3 ¾ x 5” and stamped the image from the Cottage Rose stamp set all over it using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I then pulled out my Watercolor Pencils (I used Assortment 1) and started to color using the Old Olive for the leaves, the Calypso Coral for the small flowers and the White for the large roses.  This is such a great technique and perfect for someone just starting out with limited supplies.  I did use my Blender Pens to blend and move color around to make it look natural.  I then stamped my sentiment “Fell Better Real Soon” onto a scrap of Smoky Slate cardstock again using that Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and I die cut it using the awesome new Stylish Shapes Dies (see below, these dies are so versatile and each of them is stitched around the outside for extra interest).

So, to assemble the card I wrapped the stamped image layer with the Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon and tied a basic square knot.  I added my die cut sentiment using Mini Dimensionals.  For the final addition I added three of the Matte Black Dots and there you have it.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  It really was quite simple to create and did not require a ton of products.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Wine Not

Well today is my 38th Wedding Anniversary and hubby and I are celebrating by exploring wineries here in North Carolina.  So, I thought this card was perfect to share today.  When I received the stamp set from this bundle as a free gift from Stampin’ Up! during the last On Tour event I was a little disappointed as I didn’t think it was something I would really use.  Well, after I ordered the coordinating punch and did a little playing around it has become one of my favorites.  So, with wine tasting in mind here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a layer of the Orchid Oasis (can you see this is becoming one of my favorite colors) cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  I stamped three of the bottles from the stamp set onto scraps of Basic White cardstock, one each in: Starry Sky, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet (yep, all new 2022 – 2024 In Colors).  I also stamped one of the wine labels from the set using Crumbcake Ink that I had stamped off once before stamping on my cardstock.  I then added the sentiment “Wine NOT” on the label using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I stamped the sentiment “LET’S GET INTO THE SPIRIT” also from the stamp set onto a piece of Tahitian Tide (yes another in color) cardstock using the Starry Sky Ink.  It was cut using one of the dies from the Sending Dies but it could simply have been stamped on a rectangle that was 3/8 x 3 ½”.

To assemble I added the sentiment to the bottom using Dimensionals and then I punched out all the bottles using the bottle punch from the bundle and added the Starry Sky and Sweet Sorbet bottles directly to the card.  I added the label I had created (which I fussy cut out) to the Parakeet Party bottle and I added it on the card with Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Wisteria Wishes

I wanted to do something fun with this new Wisteria Wishes bundle from the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalog.  I also knew I wanted to focus on some of the new 2022 – 2024 In Colors.  So today I decided to focus on Orchid Oasis and Parakeet Party for my card.

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock that is cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut two additional layers.  The first was from the 2022 – 2024 In Color 6 x 6” Designer Series Paper (I chose the Orchid Oasis color) it measured 2 ¾ x 5 ½” and the second was Orchid Oasis cardstock that measured 3 1/8 x 5 ½” (NOTE: now there are several things you can do to make the most of this cardstock, first you could just cut strips and adhere them to the back side of the DSP on each side, or you can die cut things from the center before you cover it with the DSP).  I layered these and adhered them to my card base.

For my sentiment layer I did use the Layered Oval Dies which are now retired but there are a number of dies you could use or you could cut simple rectangles for this part.  I cut one oval from Basic White cardstock and stamped the bottom with my sentiment from the bundle that reads “To friend who’s all kinds of wonderful” onto it using Orchid Oasis Ink.  I then layered that on top of a second oval (this one is scalloped) that I die cut from Orchid Oasis cardstock.  I added these to my card base.  I used scraps of Basic White cardstock and I stamped the branch using Parakeet Party Ink and the Wisteria using Orchid Oasis Ink and I die cut both using the coordinating dies from the bundle.  I just adhered my branch and flowers using Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Flowing Flowers meets Symbols of Fortune DSP

Today I wanted to feature two products that will be retiring on July 1st.  They are the Flowing Flowers stamp set and the beautiful Symbols of Fortune Designer Series Paper (I have made several cards using this beautiful specialty paper).  I decided to make this card a fun fold while I was at it (not sure if this fold has a name but I really like the look).

Here’s what I ended up with…

The card base is Crumbcake cardstock that is cut to 7 ¼ x 5 ½” and scored at 3”.  I cut two mats from Evening Evergreen cardstock that measured 1 x 5 ¼” and 2 ¾ x 5 ¼”.  To these I added my Symbols of Fortune DSP which was cut to 2 ½ x 5” and ¾ x 5”.  These were then adhered to the card base (note: the smaller of the two will actually be adhered to what will be the inside of the card when opened).  I cut a mat of Soft Succulent cardstock that measured 3 ¼ x 3 ¼” and a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 3 x 3”.  I stamped my floral image on the Basic White cardstock using one of the stamps from the Flowing Flowers stamp set and Calypso Coral Ink.  I adhered this to the Soft Succulent mat and adhered the whole piece to the card base (be sure to only adhere the left side so the card will open.  To finish off the front of my card I added a butterfly from the Brushed Butterflies Embellishments.

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 2 7/8 x 5 ¼” and stamped my sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the stamp set using Calypso Coral Ink.  For the envelope I selected one of the floral images from the stamp set and stamped it all over the envelopes flap again in Calypso Coral Ink.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
