Tropical Birthday

Tropical Birthday

I wanted to make another card using the Tropical Oasis Suite to showcase while I am away on my tropical vacation.  So, here’s todays share…

The card base is Very Vanilla cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then took a piece of Terracotta Tile cardstock and cut it to 4 ¼ x 5 ½” and cut a circle out of the center of it using the 4th largest of the Layering Circles dies.  Once this was done, I embossed it using the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder that is part of this suite (I love this folder).  I then centered my sentiment “May your birthday be memorable” from the Timeless Tropical stamp set and stamped it onto the Very Vanilla using Early Espresso Ink.  I added a strip of the 5/16” Burlap Ribbon (after I was done, I wished I had used the new Braided Burlap Trim #151254) to the Terracotta Tile layer and adhered it to my cardbase.

To decorate the front of the card I stamped the large Hibiscus and the two smaller flowers along with three leaves from the stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and die cut them using the coordinating dies from the bundle.  I colored all six pieces using my Stampin’ Blends (colors listed below).  I popped the flowers up using dimensionals and adhered the leaves flat tucked up under then.  I did add two of the small Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels onto the two smaller flowers.

I hope you enjoy this card.  I will list the supplies I used below and you can find the supplies for this card and many more on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.

Tulip Time

I decided the Timeless Tulips bundle would make a great get well card (I need to make up a bunch for the church and this just looked so bright and cheerful to me), but it would also make a great spring card and of course a great Easter card.

The card base is Daffodil Delight (one of my favorite spring colors) cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.

To create the card, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼”.  I masked (I used the light-yellow low stick masking tape) the front of the card leaving a strip about 1 ½” wide exposed.  I started in the center of this strip and sponged on some Daffodil Delight ink.  Then I moved to the top and added Mango Melody ink being sure to blend them a bit.  I then added Pear Pizzazz ink to the bottom.  Once my sponging was all done and I had removed my tape I stamped on three stems and a couple leaves Pear Pizzazz.  For my tulips  I inked them with Daffodil Delight ink and then using a sponge dauber I added just a little of the Mango Melody along the bottom of the flowers.  I stamped these onto scraps of Whisper White cardstock (2 large tulips and 1 small tulip) I had to fussy cut the small tulip but it was easy to do, I used the coordinating punch to punch out the larger tulips and leaves.  I stamped two leaves using the Pear Pizzazz ink and punched them out using the coordinating punch.  I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) with Daffodil Delight ink.  I added my layers and used dimensionals to pop up all three tulips and one of the leaves.

I hope you enjoy this card.  I will list the supplies I used below and you can find the supplies for this card and many more on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.

Timeless Tulips Returns

I am happy to announce that this Timeless Tulip bundle is back in stock.  So I decided to make a birthday card using it today.

The card base is Daffodil Delight cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  The next layer is Whisper White cardstock cut to 4 x 5 ¼” and embossed using the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder (I love this folder).  I then die cut a square using the largest of the squares in the Stitched Shapes dies from Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped two stems from the Timeless Tulip stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink.  I also stamped three of the leaves on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and punched them out using the Tulip Builder Punch and adhered them onto the stems I had stamped on my square.  Next, I stamped two of the tulips from the set onto Whisper White cardstock.  To get the graduated color I wanted I started by inking them up using Daffodil Delight ink and then I added Mango Melody ink along the bottom of the tulips using a Sponge Dauber.  Once they were stamped, I punched them out using the Tulip Builder Punch as well.  I added them to my square using dimensionals and then added the square to my card using dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment “happy birthday” also from the set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Mango Melody ink and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and adhered it to the bottom of the card using mini dimensionals (these are great, no more trying to cut the larger ones up, these are sized perfectly for those little pieces).  To embellish the card, I added a bow made from the Whisper White ¼” Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon that I colored by pressing it into my Mango Melody ink pad with my dauber and dragging it through the ink.  It needs to dry for about 30 minutes before you start working with it to allow it to dry and make sure none of the color transfers onto your white cardstock.  I also added a couple of the smallest of the Pearl Basic Jewels and for that extra sparkle I brushed Wink of Stella on the flowers and the leaves.

I hope you enjoy this card.  I will list the supplies I used below and you can find the supplies for this card and many more on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.

Introducing The Tropical Oasis Suite

I was scheduled to take a much needed vacation in the Caribbean.  However, my cruise was cancelled so instead I decided that I would try to have a little tropical fun with the Tropical Oasis Suite.

The card base is made using Soft Seafoam cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that measured 2 ½ x 4 ¼” and I embossed it using the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder (I tell you embossing folders are one of the most economical ways to add some great texture to your cards).

I measured up just under 2 ½” from the bottom of my card base and I started to stamp some of the great palm trees from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set, I like the look of tone on tone so I did this with Soft Seafoam ink.  It gave me that soft subtle look I was going for.  Next I added a piece of the 3/16” Braided Linen Trim (the 5/16” Braided Burlap Trim that comes with this suite would have been great as well but I was out of it when I made this card) right along the top edge of my embossed cardstock and then added that layer right onto my card base.

Then I stamped two sets of the palm trees from that same stamp set onto some scraps of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored them using my Stampin’ Blends (colors listed below) and die cut them.  I used some dimensionals and popped them right onto the center of the card.  To finish off my card I stamped the sentiment (also from the same stamp set) onto a piece of Terracotta Tile cardstock that measured ¾ x 3 ½” again using the Memento ink and I used dimensionals on it as well and just popped it at an angle across my trees.

I hope you enjoy this card.  I will list the supplies I used below and you can find the supplies for this card and many more on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog.
