In Colors

I am really enjoying this years new in colors so today I created a card that focused on several of them.  I used the Pretty Peacock and Seaside Spray cardstock to create with.  I used the Seaside Spray, Pretty Peacock and Rococo Rose inks and even some of the new Rococo Rose scalloped linen ribbon on this card...

For some reason I had stopped using embossing powder as much as I once did but when I purchased this beautiful To A Wild Rose stamp and die bundle I knew I needed to pull out that embossing powder and do some embossed resist with this set.

I started with a Seaside Spray card base, added a 4 x 5 1/4" layer of the Pretty Peacock.  I cut a layer of the whisper white that was 3 3/4 x 5" and I simply sponged it with a light dusting of the Seaside Spray ink.  Next I used the little speckled stamp from the Beauty Abounds stamp set to add in some Rococo Rose.  I stamped the sentiment using Pretty Peacock and added the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon around the center of the card.

With all my layers completed I started on my focal point.  I stamped the rose and leaves onto whisper white cardstock with versa mark ink and added white embossing powder.  I grabbed my trusty daubers and started coloring in the center of the rose with the Rococo Rose ink, I moved onto the outer edges and used Seaside Spray (be sure to blend the two as well to add a third layer of color to your rose).  For the leaves I used daubers and added Soft Seafoam and Pear Pizzazz ink.

Finally, I added the rose using dimensionals and glued the leaves up under it.  I did color three of the jewels basic rhinestones with my stamp and write markers in pretty peacock, rococo rose and seaside spray and added them to the card as a final touch.

I am happy with the outcome and I hope you like it as well.  All of the supplies used to make this card are available for purchase on my website at www.craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by clicking the shopping cart at the top of this blog.  Just a reminder if you place an order between now and the end of July using Hostess Code:  ESGKSBFD you will receive the free PDF files for the month (check out previous blog posts to see which ones are included).  If you wish to place an order of $150 or more be sure to contact me to get your own hostess code so you can collect your hostess rewards (you will also receive the free PDF files)
