APRIL SHOWERS

Just in time for April showers today’s card features the Umbrella Days Bundle (this bundle is retiring so it is only available while supplies last).  As soon as I saw this cute bundle I knew I could put it to work.  I love not only the cute umbrella dies I used on this card but also the images of the folks with umbrellas.  Likewise I was drawn to the sentiments in this set “You are the umbrella to my rainy days” how perfect for someone who is there for you when you need them most or how about “The stom will end and the sun will shine again” I think this one is perfect for someone going through a tough time and just the right way to say I am thinking about you.  This card was inspired by one I saw made by Su Mohr a member of the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team.  I hope you like it…

The card base is Basic Gray cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.   I started by die cutting all my pieces.  I saw where someone used the dies I used for clouds as shrubs (isn’t it awesome when a die can be used in many ways).  I cut the clouds out of scraps of Basic White cardstock, the umbrella handles out of scraps of Basic Gray cardstock and the two umbrellas were cut out of scraps from the Thoughtful Journeys 6 x 6” Designer Series Paper.  I love when I can use scraps to make a card don’t you?

Once everything was cut, I added some Pebbled Path ink to my clouds using a Blending Brush.  I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and added the rain drops from the stamp set inked with Pebbled Path Ink.  I also stamped “You are the umbrella to my rainy days” in the bottom right corner using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Now all that was left was to add my umbrellas which I adhered directly onto the card front and my clouds which I popped up on Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
