Snowflakes

Today’s card is all about snowflakes.  As I said yesterday there are a number of retiring products from the July – December Mini catalog that are going on sale beginning December 1st and some are as much as 60% off.  Over the next week or so I will be showcasing cards created with some of those great sales products.

For today here is what I came up with…

The card base is Starry Sky cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut a piece of the Snowflake 12 x 12” Specialty Vellum Paper (today I am using the flocked snowflake paper) to 4 x 5 ¼” and I mounted that onto a piece of Basic White cardstock also cut to 4 x 5 ¼” (hint: to make your adhesive invisible on these vellum pieces use a sponge and the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and just sponge it on the back of the vellum), which a then mounted onto the card base.  Then I did my stamping, the stamped snowflake and sentiment are both from the Joyful Flurry Stamp Set and are cut out using the Frosted Flurries Dies (which will be 60% off on December 1st, that is just $13.60 for dies that were originally $34. see photos below)  Once I stamped my snowflake and sentiment onto Starry Sky cardstock using VersaMark Ink I then heat embossed them using the Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I added some of the Silver Simply Elegant Trim under the snowflake and the popped it and the sentiment up using Dimensionals.

Notice some of the dies do not cut images out but rather cut the image into the cardstock.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Let it Snow

Today’s card features a couple products that are on the last chance retiring list from the July – December Mini Catalog.  The best part of that is that one is that some of the products are going on sale beginning December 1st, so get that wish list prepared (I will be showing more cards created with these great sales items).  The products I decided to showcase in this card were the Snowflake 12 x 12” Specialty Vellum (which will be 20% off) and the Wonderful Snowflakes (which will be 60% off).  Even if you have already created your cards for this year these great deals are worth grabbing up and using for next years cards or maybe a New Years card.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then added a layer of Starry Sky cardstock which measured 4 x 5 ¼” and to that I added a layer of the Snowflake Specialty Vellum that measured 3 7/8 x 5 3/8”.  I took a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 1 x 4” and stamped the sentiment “LET IT snow” from the Joyful Flurry Stamp set onto the right side using Starry Sky Ink.  To this strip of white cardstock, I added a little strip of the Starry Sky Glimmer Paper (from the 2022 -2024 In Color Glimmer Paper pack) that measured ½ x 4” and I mounted that on the card base as shown in the photo.  I added one of the Wonderful Snowflakes and a little double bow that was created from the Starry Sky Ribbon and attached with a Mini Glue Dot.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

For my Favorite Veteran

Today’s card is all about honoring our Veteran’s using the Poppy Moments dies and featuring the Poppy Parade cardstock.  You know I have a special place in my heart for Veteran’s, maybe that is because I come from a wonderful military family.  You see, I am a Veteran, married to a Veteran, the daughter of a Veteran, the daughter-in-law of a Veteran, the Sister-In-Law of a Veteran and the Mother of a Veteran.  So which is my favorite Veteran?  Well I love all of them but my best friend and partner of 38 years has had my heart from the start so today I created this card for him.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Poppy Parade cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut a layer of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and used one of the dies from the Poppy Moments die set to do the partial cutting on the front of the card, I just love this affect.  I then cut out my poppies, I simply cut one layer of each of the flowers out of Poppy Parade or Real Red and then layered them together and added the Basic Black center.  The same is true of the leaves I just alternated between Old Olive and Mossy Meadow cardstock and created them.  Once all of the poppies and leaves were done, I simply layered them on top of the card using adhesive and Dimensionals.  I love how it turned out and as you can see there was not a lot to making it.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Splendid Thoughts

Today’s card was created using the Splendid Thoughts Bundle and the Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper from the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalog.  I like the simplicity of this card and even went so far as to design it without any sentiment on the front of the card.  The nice part of doing cards like this is you can easily stamp an nice sentiment on the inside and this card can be anything from a Birthday card to a Sympathy card, whatever you need then.  I like keeping a nice little stock pile of these kind of cards that I can grab and do some simple stamping and get sent off right away when something comes up.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Gray Granite cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I cut a layer of Basic White cardstock to 5 x 3 ¾” and adhered a layer of the beautiful Splendid Day Specialty Paper (there are some amazing foils in this package) that measured 3 5/8 x 4 7/8” on top of it.  Next, I took a piece of the Basic White cardstock that measured 1 ¾ x 3 5/8” and I stamped it all over with one of the stamps from the Splendid Thoughts Bundle (this stamp is used to stamp the inside of one of the foliage stamps but it makes an awesome background stamp) using Soft Sea Foam Ink.  I mounted this piece onto a piece of the Gray Granite cardstock that measured 1 7/8 x 3 5/8” and I adhered that to the left side of my card front.

I used a scrap of Basic White cardstock and stamped my foliage piece also from the bundle onto it using Smoky Slate Ink and I die cut it out using the coordinating die from the bundle.  I colored it in with the Soft Seafoam Stampin’ Blends and added some Wink of Stella to give it a little pop.  I adhered that to the center of the piece I had previously stamped using Dimensionals.  To finish the front of the card I added a little double bow I made using the Linen Thread and a Mini Glue Dot.  For the inside of the card and the envelope I stamped and colored the foliage piece just like I did on the front of the card.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.

Hidden Latch Card

Today’s card is a Hidden Latch card and it was made using the beautfiul new Fitting Florets Collection.  I am really loving working with this collection which is an early release from the January – December Mini Catalog.  While the Frmamed Florets Bundle is going to carry into the new mini catalog the Framed & Festive Stamp Set (with holiday sentiments), the Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls and the Designer Series Papers are only available for a limited time (until January 4th while supplies last) so be sure to order right way if you want any of these so you don’t miss out.  So I thought this collection was a perfect one to use for a Hidden Latch Card.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Balmy Blue cut to 5 ½ x 8 1/2” and scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8” to create a gate fold.  Once I had my card base, I went ahead and cut my latch which is 1 ¼” x 3 ½” scored at ½”.  I attached my latch to the center of the right side of the card lining it up with the scored edge and attaching.  I then cut my Designer Series Papers from the Fitting Florets pack, I chose to use the small florals on the left side of the card front and also on the latch on the right side.  These pieces were cut at 2 x 5 3/8” and 1 1/8 x 2 ¾”, once cut go ahead and attach.  I cut a second piece of the Designer Series Paper to 2 x 5 3/8” and attached it to the right side of the card (this hides the latch mechanism).

To decorate my card, I stamped the two floral stamps from the Framed Florets Bundle onto scraps of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored them using the Stampin’ Blends listed below.  Once they were all colored, I cut them out using the coordinating dies from the bundle.  I die cut the largest of the frames from the dies out of Basic White cardstock so I could get the inside oval (hold onto that white frame because you can use it on other projects.  I stamped my sentiment “For a special person on a special day” (also from the bundle) onto the center of my white oval using Polished Pink ink.  Next, I die cut the smaller frame from Balmy Blue cardstock and used the frame to frame up my oval sentiment (again save that inside oval for a future project, maybe even paired up with the white frame left from earlier).  Once my sentiment was all framed up, I attached the florals that I had already created and added my oval to my card front using Dimensionals.

IMPORTANT:  Be sure to only attach the left side of the sentiment oval to the left front side of the gatefold or your card will not open also the “latch” is long enough to tuck in under the oval and over the gatefold to seal the card down so be sure the Dimensionals are not in the way of that function.

For my final embellishments I added three of the Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls (love these guys as they don’t stick way up and make mailing easier) and I colored over all my flowers with Wink of Stella just to add some shimmer.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed working with this new collection.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.
