GREEN AND GOLD GEARS & TEXTURES

Today’s card features the Gears & Textures Bundle along with the Nature’s Walk Designer Series Paper and Gold Foil.  I used distressing which was really popular a few years back and I love the results.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Mossy Meadow cardstock cut to 11 x 4 ¼” and scored at 5 ½”.  I added a layer of the Nature’s Walk Designer Series Paper (I chose one that was greens) that was cut to 4 x 5 ¼”.  Next, I cut a piece of the Gold Foil to 3 x 4 ¼” and using the dies from the bundle I embossed that piece.  The way I did that was to place down my plate #1 on my Stampin’ Up! Cut and Emboss Machine then add a clear plate (#3) my Silicon Mat, the foil, the die (cut side down) and another clear plate *#3) and run it through the machine.  This will leave the embossed image of the die but not cut it.  For this card I used dies #13, #4, #11, #10 & #12 (see image below) to do the embossing.

Once everything was embossed, I distressed it using a super fine filing block (I get them from the beauty supply store, they are used to do manicure and pedicures).  I just worked the sanding block over the embossed images until I received the results I was looking for.  When I was done I added this layer to a piece of Basic Black cardstock that measured 3 ¼ x 4 ½” and added that to the center of the card front using Dimensionals.

I die cut images #13, #4, #12, #10 and #11 out of both Gold Foil and Basic Black cardstock.  I added the black die cuts to the embossed piece.  I used my sanding block and distressed the gold foil piece.  I added the gold foil piece over the black just off set a bit.  #13 I added with some Dimensionals for extra interest.  For my sentiment I used the Banners Sayings Bundle and stamped my sentiment "Happy Birthday" onto a scrap of Mossy Meadow cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then punched it out with the punch that coordinates with this sentiment set.  I added it to the front of the card with Dimensionals.  I finished the card off with three black embellishments from my stash.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
