GONE FISHING DECKLED CIRCLE CARD

Today’s card features the new Deckled Circles dies and the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper.  I was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest that was created by Mary Fish so I decided to give it a go.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Wild Wheat cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.  I then die cut the base using the #2 Deckled Circle (the number of the circle is based on #1 being the largest and #14 the smallest) leaving a 1 1/2 of the scored fold to the inside of the die so it doesn’t get cut.  Next, I cut 2 pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock to 5 x 5” and one piece of Wild Wheat cardstock to 1 1/2 x 5”.  I attached the Wild Wheat cardstock to one of the Very Vanilla cardstock pieces and then die cut both pieces of the Very Vanilla using the #4 Deckled Circle.

Then I moved onto my stamping.  I stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring ½ x 2 ½” in Mossy Meadow Ink.  I flagged the ends of the piece for some added interest.  I used the Gone Fishing Bundle and stamped the fish in Mossy Meadow Ink and the bobber in Pecan Pie Ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and then die cut them with the coordinating dies in the bundle.  I stamped the sentiment “Hope Your Day is a Happy One” from the So Sincere Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow onto the Very Vanilla circle for the inside of my card.

I die cut Mossy Meadow cardstock using the #9 deckled circle, Pecan Pie cardstock die cut using #10 deckled circle, and Wild Wheat cardstock die cut using #11 deckled circle. Using the Let’s Go Fishing 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper I punched out the Wild Wheat and Mossy Meadow Plaid using the 2 ¾” Circle Punch, the Pecan Pie Plaid out using the 2″ Circle Punch and Very Vanilla cardstock using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch.  I then added the water ripple die from the bundle onto the Very Vanilla circle so I could tuck my bobber down into it.

To assemble, I just adhered the very vanilla layer to the card base and then adhered the circles as shown in the photo (there is no right or wrong way to layer these just do what looks good to you).  I adhered my second Very Vanilla circle with my sentiment to the inside.  I popped my fish, sentiment and bobber up with Dimensionals and added three of the 2023 – 2025 In Color Dots.  And there you have it a round card (my first time making one and I love it).

TRANSLUCENT FLORALS BUCKLE CARD

Today’s card features the Translucent Florals Bundle from the September – December Mini Catalog along with the Delightful Florals 12 x 12” Designer Series Paper that is an online exclusive item.  I was thrilled when I saw this paper being released because I was already enjoying the bundle and it was a treat to have some coordinating Designer Series Paper.  I had promised the ladies in my card club that we would do some fun folds this month so I decided to use these products an make a buckle card with them.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Parakeet Party cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 7” and scored at 2 ¾”.  Next, I cut all my cardstock, that included a piece of Parakeet Party cardstock that was 1 ¼ x 4 ¼” scored at 3 ¾” and another piece that was cut to ¾ x 2 ¾”.  I cut Basic White cardstock to 2 ½ x 5 ¼”.  Then I moved onto cutting my Designer Series Paper (watch the orientation of the designs).  I cut a piece that had medium sized flowers to 2 ½ x 5 ¼”, the one with a leaf pattern to 1 x 3 ½” and ½ x 2 ½” and then finally the one that has the pretty ombre that is bubble bath and I cut that one to 1 3/8 x 5 ¼”.

To put the card together I started by reinforcing my score line with my bone folder.  I added the floral piece to the left side of my card leaving equal space on all four sides.  Next I stamped my sentiment for the inside “WISHING YOU ALL THE HAPPINESS IN THE WORLD” from the stamp set in the bundle using Calypso Coral Ink.  I also added the smallest flower from the stamp set down at the bottom of the white layer.  Then I took my piece of Parakeet Party cardstock that measured 1 ¼ x 4 ¼” and I reenforced the score on that one.  I adhered the little tab made by scoring (1/2”) to the center back of my bubble bath colored DSP and then I adhered the DSP to the right inside of the card leaving equal borders around it (this becomes my buckle).  I added my leaf DSP that measured 1 x 3 ½” to the buckle I just attached to the card.  I added my final DSP piece to my final Parakeet Party cardstock and added a Dimensional at the very tip of each end (this becomes my latch).  I laid my buckle down flat on my card front and then I added my “latch” piece being sure to center my buckle so it is away from the Dimensionals.  (See Photo below)

Now all that is left is to decorate the card.  I used the 1 ¾” Circle Punch to punch out a circle from Basic White cardstock.  I stamped “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” from the stamp set onto the bottom center of the circle using Calypso Coral Ink and attached it to my latch.  Then I stamped the medium sized flower from the stamp set onto some scrap Basic White cardstock using Calypso Coral Ink and the two leaves in the stamp set onto scrap Basic White cardstock using Parakeet Party Ink.  I used the coordinating dies from the bundle and die cut both.  I used a little Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to my flower and leaves and used my bone folder to curl them a little for a more natural look and adhered both to the circle.  My final additions were a single Tinsel Gem and a bow made out of the 2022 – 2024 In Color Baker’s Twine (I used the Parakeet Party) and added it with a Mini Glue Dot.

Today’s card features a Fractured Card created using two beautiful specialty papers, the Tartan Foil 12 x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Oxidized Copper 12 x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper.  These two papers make this technique really pop.  Here is what I came up with…

The video link below will show you exactly how to put the card together.

Copper Clay die cut 2nd largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies and the wider of the two shorter flagged pieces.

FUN FOLD CONTINUING SCENE CARD

I am loving this new One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper and today’s fun fold card is a great example of a way to get the best bang for your buck using this 6 x 6” DSP.  I even stepped outside my comfort zone and paired two unlikely colors, Mossy Meadow and Pool Party.  Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Mossy Meadow cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 1 ½” and 4 ¼”.  The card base is folded in half at 4 ¼” and then the 1 ½” score is folded back onto the front of the base.  Next, I prepared my Designer Series Paper.  First, I cut it to 5 ¼” tall and then starting on the left I cut it at 2 ¾”, 1 1/8” and that left a piece that is 2 1/8”.

To assemble the card, I cut a piece of Pool Party cardstock to 2 x 5 ¼” and embossed it with the new Snowflake 3D Embossing folder.  I attached this to the left side of the front of my card (yes some of it does go under the fold) leaving an even reveal on the top, bottom and left side.

Now to start adding the DSP.  I began with that first piece that measured 2 ¾” and I adhered it to the scored piece that folds back onto the front of the card (be sure to only add adhesive where it will be attached to the mossy meadow cardstock).  To do this I positioned it with my card laying flat and closed and made sure to keep that same even reveal on the top, bottom and right side.  Then I opened my card and added my 1 1/8” piece of DSP and then my 2 1/8” piece (remember to keep those even reveals).

To finish off the card I added a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 1 ¾ x 5 ¼” to the right side of the inside of the card.  I stamped the sentiment “Winter Wishes” from the Magical Meadow Stamp Set onto it using Mossy Meadow ink.  Next, I from that same stamp set I stamped the sentiment “May this Season of Sparkle Bring Joy & Delight” onto a scrap of Pool Party cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink.  Once that was stamped, I used the dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut it out.  I attached it to the front of my card using Dimensionals (remember not to attach the left side past the DSP or it won’t open.  For the final addition I added three of the dots from the Glossy Dots Assortment (I chose to use the Pool Party ones).

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
