BASIC BLESSINGS

Today’s card once again features the Blessed Beginnings Bundle.  However, today we are going simple for Easter.  I liked the simplicity of using nothing but your scoring tool on your paper trimmer to get a great effect for the front of the card.  So that’s what I did and here is what I came up with…

The card base is Basic White cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and scored all four sides at ½”.  I turned this piece over before attaching to my card base so that the score marks were raised not indented.  Next, I stamped my church onto a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock using Pecan Pie Ink.  I also stamped two of the trees from the set onto scraps of Basic White cardstock using Old Olive Ink and I die cut the church and both trees out using the coordinating dies.  I also grabbed a small scrap of Pecan Pie cardstock and die cut out the cross and the front door of the church which I attached to the church.  I adhered the cross directly on and used a Dimensional to add the door.

I used a water painter (you could use a brush or even a blending pen) and picked up Old Olive Ink and brushed it into the tree tops and Pecan Pie Ink and brushed it onto the trunks of the trees.  I stamped the sentiment “Blessings” from the bundle onto the top right corner of my scored layer and then added the church using Dimensionals.  I tucked the trees in behind the church and adhered them directly to the card front.

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and stamped the sentiment “FOR YOUR EASTER” onto the top center using Pecan Pie Ink.  I stamped the tree onto the bottom right corner using Old Olive Ink and again painted the ink onto the tree the same way I did the trees for the front of the card.

I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it.  As always you can find the supplies to create this card and more on my website at https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2206796 or by clicking the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below.  Be sure to follow me at:
