Today’s card is a fun fold card featuring the Shephard’s Care stamp set and the Winter Meadow DSP. I saw a video where Terri Gaines demonstrated a technique using the Metallic Enamel Effects Basics and I wanted to teach it to the members of my card club.
Here is what I came up
with…
The card base is Blueberry Bushel cardstock
cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”, 5 7/8”, 6 3/8” and 8”. I folded
the 4 ¼” score line like I would for any other card and burnished it with my
bone folder. Then I folded each of the
other scores to create mountain folds and burnished them as well. I added Tear & Tape down the small little
½” piece of the cardstock leaving it up I folded at the second score mark and removed
the back of the tape and folded the back of the card over top of the Tear &
Tape and pressed down. It creates a
pillar as shown in the photo below.
Next, I cut my Winter Meadow Designer
Series Paper. I cut it to 1 3/8 x 5 ¼” and 3 ½ x 5 ¼” (I used the blueberry bushel
colored paper for the card above but was using the pretty peacock color when I
took photos). I embossed these pieces
using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.
Then I added my Metallic Enamel Effects to both pieces. I placed the pieces on my Silicone Mat and
added a line of the Metallic Enamel Effects then using a B size stamp block I
rubbed it all over the block and then swiped that across my DSP (be careful not
to push down too hard and smear the color).
I set these aside to dry for a few minutes and went on with my die
cutting and stamping.
I die cut the second largest die from the Countryside
Corners dies out of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and two of the third largest
dies out of Basic White cardstock. I
stamped my shepherd from the stamp set onto one of the white die cut pieces
using Blueberry Bushel Ink and added the sentiment “Praying THAT YOU WILL FEEL
THE Good Shepherd’s CARE IN THIS Season AND THROUGHOUT THE Coming Year” also
from the stamp set and also in Blueberry Bushel Ink.
To decorate the card, I added the largest of the two pieces of DSP onto the bottom inside of the card and the smaller piece onto the front of the pillar. I adhered my sentiment inside centered just about ¼” off the left side (folded side). I adhered my Basic White with the Shepherd to the Blueberry Bushel die cut and add Dimensionals as shown below to attach it. Be sure to center this over the sentiment to cover it when the card is closed and don’t get your Dimensionals too high or low.
For the
final addition I stamped the star from the set with Daffodil Delight Ink onto a
scrap of Basic White cardstock and fussy cut it out (Note: I did shorten two of
the sides of the star to make it fit better on the card). I added Wink of Stella to it and added it to
the card with a Mini Glue Dot.
