Back to Work

As those of you who have read my previous posts know I had to take a break from posting to do some house hunting for my in-law's.  I am happy to say that God as usual guided my husband and I on our journey and we found them a perfect town house.  Their home in Arkansas sold in record time and we found them a place here (that they think is perfect, at least from the 50+ pictures I sent) within a week.  Nice to have that done.  I will still be taking some time away from here to handle things like inspections on the new place, dealing with the movers, getting some things taken care of before they get here and the like but I feel great relief getting this far this fast.

So with that said it was time to buckle down and finish the Calypso paper packet two page scrapbook layout that I promised, so here it is...

I am quite happy with it since scrapbooking always seems to be a bigger challenge for me that card making.  So I have not placed photos yet.  I will be adding two 4 x 4" prints on the left page and on the right a 4 x 6" print (I have the perfect ones of my husband and I taken last month at Myrtle Beach were we were sitting by the pool enjoying some adult beverages on our 32nd Wedding Anniversary). I have a number of pictures taken at the pool so I think I am going to add some of the Close to My Heart Flip Flaps to the mix (check them out on my OBA at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com  These are great little additions that adhere to the plastic page protector and flip open so you can put a stack of pictures in one photo cell (great way to add more pictures without a bunch more pages).  I really love these flamingo's but I want to warn you the they are a limited time only product and the thin cuts have sold out once already so I am not sure how long we will have them so if you want them you need to order them soon.  I love the watercolor look on this calypso paper I used as a background for these pages (this is part of that single paper packet I started with back at the beginning of the month and I have plenty of paper for at least 4 more scrapbook pages and several more cards.  I sure got some bang for my buck out of this paper packet.

Here are pictures of the individual pages...

Left page

Right page

It is hard to see some of the details in the pictures but I used green glitter paper for the palm trees and it looks great.  I also inked all my papers, even the titles with the same color ink as the cardstock, it just adds the slightest depth without standing out too much.  I also added black gems to the flamingo's eyes because lets face it every project needs a little bling.  I did use 3-D foam tape under the flamingo's wings for added interest (now I wish I would have added it under the waves also just for the feeling of depth and interest).

Supply List:
Paper:  Calypso Paper Packet (X7210B) and I used some green glitter paper from my stash
Cardstock:  Sunset( X5758), Honey (X5668), Chocolate (X5643), Crystal Blue (1292), Canary (X5772) and Pear (X5764)
Inks: Chocolate (Z2111), Crystal Blue (Z2117), Honey (Z2162), Sunset (Z2191), Pixie (Z2644), Hollyhock (Z2128) and Memento (Z899)
Stamp Set:  Tickled Pink (C1615) and coordinating Tickled Pink Thin Cuts (Z3228)
Misc: Daubers (Z726) and 3-D foam tape (Z2060)

I cut the Umbrella, waves (both) and the Palm Trees out of the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge (Z3169), now don't freak out over the price, let me point out this includes the cartridge with 700 images to make things like minibooks, layouts, it's own font and so much more.  It also includes three D size stamp sets valued at $17.95 each and a packet (20 sheets, 2 each of 10 colors) of the Adventure cardstock pack which is valued at $14.95.

NOTE:  You could replace the crystal blue with lagoon, the canary with honey and the chocolate with topiary and you would have a beautiful page as well.  That way you could order a packet of the Adventure cardstock instead of all the individual colors and you would get 20 sheets of paper 2 each of 10 different colors.  The order number for it is X5935.  If you want to do the same kind of thing with the inks consider the Exclusive Inks Mini Pigment Pad Sets and get 10 inks in a package.

As always the supplies for this and most of my projects are available at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking the shop button at the top of this blog.  Happy Crafting!!!

Calypso meets The Long Way Home both Close to My Heart!!

Just a quick project here.  I wanted to incorporate both the beautiful Calypso paper and this months stamp of the month into a project.  I have seen a few on Pinterest and noticed one using the adorable flamingo stamps and thin cuts from the Tickled Pink collection so here is my take on that....

To cute right?  Full instructions at the bottom of this post.  So here is the stamp set that is just $5 with a $50 qualifying purchase ($17.95 value) available only during the month of June.

And here is the stamp set and the die set I used for the flamingo's (which are adorable).

I just can't get enough of these flamingo's.  You will be seeing them in future projects for sure.  So here are the instructions and supplies I used...

Glacier cardstock cut to 3 ¾” x 5” (distressed with crystal blue)
Calypso patterned paper cut to 3 ½” x 4 ¾” (distressed with pixie ink)
White daisy cardstock scraps were used to stamp and cut out all the figures, etc.

I matted the calypso paper onto the glacier cardstock, cut a small slit in the car to add the flamingo (I cut off the part of him that stuck out the bottom and taped him down behind the card).  I then cut out the car, the sun (which I punched out using a 1" circle punch), sign and the luggage and added them to the card using 3-D foam tape, I used a small piece of 3-D foam tape under the flamingos wing but glued him right to the card face.  I also added two little black gems for the flamingo’s eyes, because I think everything needs a little bling.  Finally, I stamped a little bit of the flamingo onto the envelope (no naked envelopes for me, LOL).

Supplies:

Stamp Sets: The Long Way Home (S1606) and Tickled Pink (C1651)
Die Cuts – Tickled Pink (Z3228)
Calypso Paper Packet (X7210)
Cardstock – White daisy (1385) and Glacier (X5770)
Dauber (Z726)
Inks –Chrystal Blue (Z2117), Sapphire (Z2648), Pixie (Z2644), Pear (Z2197), Memento (Z899), and Canary (Z2643)
White Value cards and envelopes (X254 – they are a package of 50 cards and envelopes so they are a good basic supply to have)
1” circle punch (Z1999)
3-D Foam Tape (Z2060)
For flamingo eyes I just colored the clear bitty sparkles (Z1263) with a black marker

As always the supplies for this and other projects are available for purchase on my OBA at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking on the shop button at the top of this blog.  Have a wonderful day and Happy Crafting!!!

Blessings Abound...

Well my friends, I will be taking a couple days off from posting.  My husbands parents called us on Friday evening and told us they have decided to move from Arkansas to North Carolina where we live to be closer as they age.  Great news.  Then when we called to wish Dad a Happy Fathers Day yesterday they informed us the house has been sold (wow, that was quick).  So I am going to be out and about the next few days looking for a good townhouse for them.  With that said I will be away from the craft room but I promise to post as soon as possible.  Wish me luck on my search.

Have a great day, great week and as always... Happy Crafting!!!!

Tickle me Calypso!!!

So now that we have made some cards, how about some scrapbook pages using the Calypso paper packet (I still have lots of paper left to create with).  I have more trouble with trying to figure out designs for scrapbook pages than I ever have with designs for cards but after lots of looking around I have started the two page (maybe more since I still have over half of the 1 Calypso paper packet I purchased) layout.  I am planning it to showcase some pics of hubby and I enjoying our fancy drinks at the pool in Myrtle Beach last month when we celebrated our 32nd Wedding Anniversary.  I think I am going to experiment with Close to My Hearts flip flaps as well (great way to add additional pictures without having to create additional pages.

So, I am just getting started but here is a little preview of what I have got done so far.  My posts may be a little less frequent as scrapbooking takes me much longer than card creating but I do promise to post as often as possible.

I still have some work to do but I am liking it so far.  You can't see it but the green on the palm trees is cut from glitter paper and it is really striking.  The waves and palm trees are from my Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge (so glad this is not one that is being retired because I use it all the time it is perfect for scrapbooking).

Don't you just love these flamingo's??  They are from the new stamp and thin cuts called Tickled Pink.  I would have been using them long ago but they were so much more popular than anyone foresaw that they were sold out within a week of being released so I had to wait for my backorder to come in.  (Yeahhh!!!! arrived yesterday).  I can promise you I will be posting some more projects with these little guys because I love them.

I would encourage anyone looking at purchasing the Calypso paper packet or these cute stamps and dies to do so soon.  They will be retiring and I am not sure how long any of them will be available before they sell out.  I will put the item numbers at the bottom of the post for you.

Here is what they look like...

These are the stamps

Here are the die cuts

You can see how perfect these are with the Calypso paper packet right?

Supplies featured above are available at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking the shop button at the top of this blog.

Supplies Used:
Stamp set:  C1651 - Tickled Pink
Die set: Z3228 - Tickled Pink Thin Cuts

As always have a wonderful day and Happy Crafting!!!

Calypso Card 9

Well here it is the final card (maybe) at least from the one sheet wonder diagram I used.  But who knows I may have to experiment with the left over papers from the packet.  I have like 4 full sheets of paper, two full 12 x 12 sheets of Picture my Life Cards (which are great for cards) and a bunch of scrap pieces.  I am pretty sure there are some more projects just screaming to be made with this cute paper packet.  But I digress, here are the instructions for this card.

Calypso cut to 2” x 3 ¾” (flamingo side inked with pixie ink using a dauber)
White card base (4 ¼” x 5 ½”)
Pixie 2 ¾” x 1 ¾”
Calypso (blue with speckles) cut to 2 ¼” x 4” and 2 ½” x 1 ½”
White Daisy cut to 1” x 2”
Pixie cut to 2 ¼” x 1 ¼”

Supplies: (in addition to listed below)
Pixie Ink (Z2644)
Dauber (Z726)
Big Hug stamp set (D1584)
3-D Foam Tape (Z2060)
Pixie Twine  (Z3035)

Basic Supplies (additional supplies for individual projects will be listed with the bag or that card, please note several supplies are used on multiple cards, etc. )

- Calypso Paper  Packet (7210B) (I used 1 sheet of the pineapples on one side and the flamingo’s on the other and did half of the cards featuring each design.  I also used part of a sheet of the Blue B&T with speckles but I could have used blue cardstock there)
-1 sheet of 12 x 12 Canary Cardstock, 1 ½ sheets of Pixie Cardstock, 1 sheet of Pear Cardstock (or you could use the green B&T in the paper packet)
-1 sheet of White Daisy Cardstock
-White Value Pack cards and envelopes (X254)

Just a reminder the instructions for the tote to hold all these cards was posted on my June 1st post.  Here it is...

NOTE:  You could use the Calypso Paper Packet in lieu of any cardstock and make this whole project.  My issue is I hate to cover up a beautiful designed paper with another paper so I tend to use a lot of cardstock as bases.  If you were looking for a cost saver and wanted to use cardstock but didn’t want to purchase large packages of numerous colors you could easily purchase the Whimsy Cardstock  package which has 20 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock that would go great with the B&T papers (it is X5940).

Calypso Card 7

Fun with Calypso

First I need to give a huge shout out to Stephanie Carroll who is the original designer of this project.  I found her template on Split Coast Stampers (I believe) and saved it some time ago planning to use it and of course other things got in my way, isn’t that how it always is.  So I stumbled across the file the other day and thought it would be perfect for this project and I was right, I just feel in love with it once I did.  I simply changed up a few things to make it what I wanted.  Excellent design Stephanie, thank you so much for the cutting template and the inspiration.  Look at this cute little bag that is going to hold all our treasures...

One Sheet Wonder Tote and Cards  (when we finish we will have a little bag and 9 coordinating cards which is perfect for gift giving)

- Calypso Paper  Packet (7210B) (I used 1 sheet of the pineapples on one side and the flamingo’s on the other and did half of the cards featuring each design.  I also used part of a sheet of the Blue B&T with speckles but I could have used blue cardstock there)
- 1 sheet of 12 x 12 Canary Cardstock, 1 ½ sheets of Pixie Cardstock, 1 sheet of Pear Cardstock (or you could use the green B&T in the paper packet)
-1 sheet of White Daisy Cardstock - White Value Pack cards and envelopes (X254)

For tote:
          Pixie cardstock (cut to 8 ½ x 11”, 11 x ¾”, and 3/8" x 4 1/2"
          Calypso pieces 4 x 4 1/2", and two at 1/2 x 11"

With 8 ½” side at top score paper 1 ¼” from each side
With 11” side at top score paper 4 ½” from each side
Cut on short score lines – fold and adhere with sticky strip to make box
Adhere piece A to front of tote and embellish as desired ( I added two pixie strips and the Hibiscus Flower)

For handle attach pieces B to Pixie strips using sticky strip and then adhere handles to front and back of tote using sticky strip (I also added a brad here because I felt it looked better.

Supplies: (in addition to listed at the beginning)
- Brads from my stash
Flower was stamped using the Hawaiian Hibiscus stamp set (B1527)
- Hibiscus was colored with ShinHan Markers (the water color pencils work great too, they are 3505), Leaf Green (Z2454), Tender Pink (Z2464), Marigold (Z24574) and the Colorless Blender (Z2469)

For some reason I can not for the life of me get the cutting template to load on here (files just don't want to work together) but if you purchase supplies for this project from my OBA at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com (my e-mail address is on there) e-mail me and I will be glad to send the template to you (it allows you to get so much more out of your paper).

I hope you enjoy this project as well as the cards coming in the days ahead.  The supplies for this bag and all the cards can be purchased on my OBA at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com  or by clicking the shop button at the top of this blog.  As always, Happy Crafting!!!

Calypso is in for June

That is right, new month and a new featured paper pack.  This month the featured paper pack is Calypso, look at this beautiful scrapbook page and card made with it by one of the talented crafters at Close to My Heart...

The vibrant colors and very trendy pink flamingos and yellow pineapples make it great for summer scrapbooking.  Who can resist them...

It is right on trend with it's beautiful colors and of course those pink flamingos and yellow pineapples.  I have been playing with this paper already and will be posting some great ideas on how to use it throughout the month.  Here is a little taste...

Yes, it is another purse (different construction) filled with cards.  No worries, I will be posting the instructions for the bag and for each of the cards in it.  Stay tuned for more exciting projects using this beautiful paper packet.  Remember you can find the products I use on these projects at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking the shop button at the top of this blog.

Until next time... Happy Crafting!!!!
