GLIMMERY MEADOW

Today’s card features the Garden Meadows Bundle, the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper and the Three Color Glimmer 12 x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper, all of which are online exclusive products.  What does online exclusive mean?  It simply means you won’t find these products listed in any of the Stampin’ Up! catalogs but you sure can order them and let me tell you there are some amazing products there, so head over to my website and check them out.  So for this card it was all about using these beautifully coordinated products and I loved doing it, here is what I came up with…

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock cut to 4 ¼ x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.  Next, I cut a piece of the Glimmer Specialty Paper to 4 x 5 ¼” and took one of the dies from the Garden Meadows Bundle (love this arched window die and it is a little hard to see in the pic but it is stitched around the edges too) and cut it out of the center of the paper.  I then cut a piece of the beautiful Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper to 3 ¾ x 4 ¾” (I just picked the area of the 6 x 6” DSP I wanted to showcase) and I centered that on the back of the window frame piece.  I grabbed some ribbon (this one just retired, I am still working on replenishing items with new products) in this case 7” and I tied a square knot in the right-hand side and then just adhered the two ends to the back of the glimmer paper.  Once that was done, I adhered this whole layer to my card base.  Next, I die cut one of the flag dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies (I love how versatile these dies are and I use them all the time) out of a scrap of Petal Pink cardstock and stamped my sentiment “happy birthday!” also from the bundle onto it using Gorgeous Grap Ink.  To finish off my card I added two of the birds and one of the dragonflies from the Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds embellishments (this is also an online exclusive product).

THE BEST KIND OF PERSON

Today’s card once again features one of the new sets from the annual catalog, this time I am using just the stamp set from the bundle called Citrus Blooms.  I loved how quick and easy this card came together and I think it would make a nice set of cards as well.  I wanted to use just paper and ink (I consider my Stampin’ Blend Markers a form of ink).

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Blueberry Bushel cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I added a piece of the coordinating Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper as a layer and it was cut to 4 x 5 ¼”.  Next, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8” and stamped two of the images from the set in either corner using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink (this is the right ink to use with the alcohol markers so it doesn’t bleed).  Once those were stamped, I added my sentiment “YOU’RE THE best kind OF person” to the upper right corner using Blueberry Bushel Ink.  With everything stamped I began to color in my images (see the colors I used below).  Once everything was colored, I added this layer to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock that measured 3 ¾ x 5” and then popped that layer up on the card base using Dimensionals.  I finished the card off with three of the Loose Frosted Dots (an online exclusive product).  All in all this was a pretty quick and easy card to make.

JUST CHECKING IN

Today’s card features the new Citrus Blooms Bundle and Mediterranean Blossoms Designer Series Paper.  We all occassionally need one of those cards that is not a holiday or birthday but instead just something to let someone know we are thinking about them and are checking in.  I saw this card on Page 34 of the new Annual Catalog and I immediately knew I wanted to recreate it, so that’s what I did.

Here is what I came up with…

The card base is Boho Blue cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”.  I then used this cute background stamp from the Citrus Blossoms Bundle to stamp all over the front of the card base using Boho Blue Ink creating my own background.  Next, I used the three dies from the bundle that work together to cut out the leaf patterns, I cut these all at the same time from a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼”.  I took the center leaf bundle out and using the largest of my Water Painters I added a wash of Garden Green Ink (note: more is less so go light and you can add more as needed).  I mounted those pieces all onto the center front of the card base.  Once that was done, I took a piece of Linen Thread that measured 31” and wrapped it around the center of the card front twice and tied it into a bow over on the left side. 

I then added a strip of the Mediterranean Blossoms Designer Series Paper that measured 7/8 x 3 ½” across the center of the card.  I used the flower dies from the bundle and die cut 6 flowers in different sizes and added them to my card front.  Finally, I die cut the 2^nd Smallest of the Stylish Shapes Dies Circles and stamped the sentiment “hello” from the bundle near the top using Night of Navy Ink.  I took a piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock that measured ½ x 2 3/8” and stamped the sentiment “JUST CHECKING IN” which is also from the bundle onto it again using the Night of Navy Ink.  I added the Lemon Lolly strip to the center bottom of my circle and then popped that whole thing up on my card using Dimensionals.
