Another Take on Pathfinding Paper Packet

I decided to play around a bit more with my new Pathfinding paper packet.  It is just such a nice paper for fall cards and projects so here is a remake of a previous card with a few changes and two new cards.

Card 1 -

I had posted a card very similar to this back on August 15th.  I made a few changes.  For those who did not want to purchase the entire card making kit to get the stamp I used I changed this to the Flight of Arrows stamp set and I also added a flower (I used some punches I had) punched from goldrush card stock and I inked the edges of the flowers with autumn terracotta ink and added a sparkle to the center.  All the other instructions remain the same as the previous card.

This next card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest created by Aaron Brown.  I liked the basic design but wanted to add some of my own touches and this is what I came up with.

Card 2 -

This card is pretty simple.  I used the September stamp of the month (just $5 with a $50 purchase during the month of September, a $17.95 value).  I cut my papers as follows:  Goldrush card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" folded to create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card, chocolate card stock cut to 4 x 5 1/4", Pathfinding B&T (background and texture) cut to 3 3/4 x 5", colonial white cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4". Stamp the tree from Family is Forever (SOTM) using chocolate ink (off the left side of the paper), stamp the sentiment (I used the one from the same stamp set but you could use any sentiment you wanted here) with autumn terracotta ink.  I then distressed the entire piece around the edges using my trusty dauber and chocolate ink.  For a finishing touch I added a red enamel heart to the tree and wrapped the card with some twine from my stash.

So for today's final card I really wanted to use some of my materials in a whole new way.  I decided to use my embossing folders for something other than embossing.  I love the results, check it out!!

Card 3 -

This was so much fun to make and I really like the effect I got from using ink with my embossing folder.  So here goes, cut your papers:   Colonial white cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" and folded to create a       4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card base, olive card stock cut to 4 x 5 1/4", colonial white cut to 3 3/4 x 5", and a strip of the pathfinding B&T paper cut to 3/4 x 5".  Take your embossing folder (I used my honeycomb one here) and ink up the raised side (I used olive ink) now place you piece of colonial white that is 3 3/4 x 5" inside the folder, close and rub (it is ok if some spots are darker or lighter it is that distressed look you are going for anyway) I then distressed the sides of the card stock with my trusty dauber and chocolate ink.  For the flowers I stamped them on some scraps of colonial white card stock using the Happy Autumn stamp set and autumn terracotta ink and the leaves were stamped using olive ink. The sentiment was made using the Holiday Tags stamp set (very versatile set I use it a lot and it coordinates with my Artiste Cricut cartridge which is great or I can just hand cut around my sentiment frame), I stamped the frame in chocolate and the sentiment in olive.  Just assemble using 3-D foam tape to pop up two of the flowers and the sentiment to add some dimension to your card.

All of the supplies to make these cards are listed below and can be purchased from my website at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking on the shopping cart at the top of this blog.  I hope you enjoy these cards.  Happy Crafting.

More Autumn Fun

To continue on with our autumn theme I have two more projects to share.  Here is the first:

This card was created from a piece of colonial white card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  The card was then stamped all over with the Happy Autumn stamp using autumn terracotta ink.  I then added a strip of the Pathfinding B&T (background and texture) paper that was cut to 1 x 4" with a little "V" cut in the end.  I also added a strip of olive card stock that was cut to 3/4 x 4" and has the little "V" cut into it as well.  Just to add a little bling I included a piece of the bronze shimmer tape.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is stamped onto a piece of colonial white card stock that measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2"m using the new glacier ink, for some added interest I also included two little roses (also from the same stamp set) stamped with autumn terracotta ink in opposing corners.  This was mounted onto a 3 x 3" piece of chocolate card stock and then the whole thing was attached to the front of the card using 3-D foam tape.  (Supply list below).

I also wanted to share this cute gift tag we made using the Pathfinding papers at convention so here you go:

I just thought this tag was so cute, so here is how it is made.  Chocolate card stock is cut to 2 1/2 x 4 1/2, Pathfinding B&T paper is cut to 2 1/4 x 4", colonial white card stock is cut to 2 x 3 3/4", layer all three and cut the top corners as seen in photo.  Using the Lifetime of Happiness stamp set and some scrap colonial white card stock stamp the bow and flower using glacier ink and then stamp the flower and two leaves using flaxen ink.  Stamp the sentiment (from the same stamp set) using flaxen ink in the center of the tag.  Cut all the pieces out (you just need the center of the flaxen flower), adhere leaves to bottom left of tag, add flower and bow using 3-D foam tape.  Add a gold sequin to the center of the flower and a piece of gold shimmer trim across the tag for that bling and you have your tag.  (Supply list to below)

I am really enjoying this versatile paper pack and I hope you are enjoying the projects as well.  All the supplies used for these projects can be purchased from my website at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking the shopping cart at the top of this blog.   Happy Crafting!!!

Always Greatful with Pathfinding

I just love this stamp set, it is so perfect for cards.  Here are a couple I made using it:

Card 1 -

This card is sweet and simple and could be used for many different occasions.  I stamped it with the Ah, Autumn sentiment and will use it as a note card or perhaps an invitation to a fall party.  So here is how it was made.

Make card base from colonial white card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" that is folded in half to create a card that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2".  Now cut glacier (one of five new colors this year) card stock to 1 3/4 x 5 1/2" and mount to the left side of a colonial white card base.  Next cut olive card stock to 2 x 3" and mount that about 1" from the top of the card and about 1/2" in from the left side.  Now cut a piece of colonial white to 2 1/2 x 2 1/2" and stamp tree using olive ink.  Mount this onto a piece of craft card stock cut to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4".  Mount this centered on the olive card stock and in about 1/4" from where the olive starts on the left side.  Stamp sentiment in lower right corner using olive ink and you have a beautiful card.

This next card uses the same stamp set and the beautiful Pathfinding paper pack.  I just love how it turned out.

Card 2 -

This card starts just like the first (except it will be opened from the bottom to the top), make card base from colonial white card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" that is folded in half to create a card that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2".   Cut a piece of the glacier card stock to 2 x 5 1/2" and stamp the little arrows using glacier ink .  I stamped this one from one of the stamps in the Pathfinding Cardmaking Workshop on the Go but you could use C1361 One-way Borders or D1604 Season of Thanks or even D1578 Flight of the Arrows stamp sets (you can see each on my website) if you do not want to purchase the whole workshop (but it is a great deal and you can use the scraps to make more of these cards).  I then adhered that to the bottom of the card.  I added a strip of the Pathfinding B&T (background and texture paper) to the card.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment (again from the Always Grateful stamp set using Autumn Terracotta ink and for that little added bling I added on three (remember always embellish with odd numbers of items for a better look) gold sequins.  This card would be a great thank you card I think.

Below is a list of all the supplies I used.  They are all available at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking the shopping cart at the top of this blog.  Hope you like them and feel inspired. Happy Crafting!!!!

Supplies Used:

Card 1:  Glacier card stock (X5770), Olive card stock (1245), Kraft card stock (Z1375), Colonial White card stock (1388), Olive ink pad (Z2137), and the Always Grateful stamp set (C1559)

Card 2:  Glacier card stock (X5770), Colonial White card stock (1388), Pathfinding paper pack (X7186B), Autumn Terracotta ink pad (Z2101), gold sequins ( Z2012), and the Always Grateful stamp set (C1559).  Remember for the most bang for your buck you can purchase the Pathfinding Cardmaking Workshop on the Go which includes the arrow stamp, a full Pathfinding paper pack and the gold sequins (G1083) and makes 15 cards itself.

CTMH's Fab Five New Colors

I really wanted to make a card that highlighted the five new colors just introduced in the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book on August 1st.  I also wanted to play with the new embossing folder I just received so I decided to roll it all into one project.  Well I started by embossing and then trying to stamp (did not like the effect) but I found I really liked the effect if I stamped first and then embossed.  So here is the card:

Here is how it was made:

Begin by making the base card from daisy white card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" and folded it into a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card base.  Attach a piece of glacier card stock (one of the five new colors) that is cut to 4 x 5 1/4".  Now cut a piece of daisy white card stock to 3 3/4 x 5", stamp it using the stamps from the Lifetime of Happiness stamp set and using all five of the new colors of ink (glacier, pixie, thistle, canary and flaxen).  I then ran placed it inside the damask embossing folder and ran it through my cuttlebug (any embossing machine that will hold the folder will do fine).  Next I added a piece of the new Thistle Diagonal Striped ribbon (cut to 5 1/2" and wrapped behind the embossed daisy white card stock and attached to the back.  I then attached that to the top of the glacier card on the card.  Finally, I took a piece of daisy white card stock that measured 3/4 x 2 1/4" stamped (in thistle ink) with a sentiment from the Just for You stamp set that was mounted onto a piece of the glacier card stock that measured 1 x 2 5/8" and adhered it using 3-D Foam tape for dimension.

I have listed all the supplies used to make this card below and they can all be purchased from my website at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking on the shopping cart at the top of this blog.  Hope you like this card and Happy Crafting!!!

Supplies used:

White daisy card stock (1385), glacier card stock (X5770), thistle ink (Z2640), glacier ink (Z2641), flaxen ink (Z2642), canary ink (Z2643), pixie ink (Z2644), 3-D foam tape (Z2060), thistle diagonal striped ribbon (Z1990), Just for You stamp set (B1398) and Lifetime of Happiness stamp set (C1589)

A little Halloween Fun

It's hard to believe fall is almost upon us and the kids will be headed back to school before you know it.  This is a great time to get started on those Halloween cards.  This card looks complicated but it is actually so easy the kids can do it with you.  It would make great classroom cards or cards for teachers, co-workers, you name it.  If you wanted a different design (no little witch) there are some adorable designs in the Frightfully Fun stamp set (B1453).  It has a crazy bat, owl and skull along with a happy little pumpkin, mummy and ghost, along with 7 cute little sentiments.  So here it is with the basic instructions for you to adapt to what you want, hope you like it.

Ok so lets get started.  We begin with a piece of black card stock that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" (this will give us a finished 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card which is a standard A2 card).  Fold the card stock in half left to right.  Then fold the top half back in half right to left.  Cut a piece of colonial white cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4 and stamp the adorable little witch from the Halloween Greetings stamp set on the bottom right.  Adhere to inside of card.  Cut a piece of thistle card stock to 2 x 5 3/8" and adhere to the front of card.  Now cut a piece of the Scaredy Cat B&T (background and texture) paper to 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 stamp it with the sentiment (I choose this cute one from the same set as the little witch and the broom) and broom (or design of choice).  I added one of the little plastic stars from the Scaredy Cat Assortment (just to give the card some dimension).  I just loved how it turned out.  Best part, I have tons of paper left over to make more cards and this paper is super versatile and can be used for lots of things not just Halloween.

Below is a list of all the supplies I used to make the card.  They can all be purchased from my website at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking the shopping cart at the top of this post. Happy Crafting!!!!

Supplies Used:

Scaredy Cat Paper Packet (X7185B), thistle card stock (X5769), black card stock (1386), colonial white card stock (1388), Halloween Greetings Stamp Set (D1605), black ink pad (Z2105) and the Scaredy Cat Assortment (Z3001)

Pathfinding Cardmaking Workshop on the Go

Are you interested in learning to make cards but a little worried about getting started.  Do what I did, start with a kit so it is all laid out for you.  I love this cute kit from Close to My Heart called Pathfinding.  It includes a stamp set that is just adorable and when you are done making the 15 (count them 15 cards) you still have glitter tape and sequins left not to mention your stamp set which can be used over and over.  This is a really cute set to use to make your thank you cards.  While this is geared toward the fall with the simple change of paper you could make cards for anytime of the year.  Now who doesn't need thank you cards (one card I use the most).  So here is the kit:

And here are the three cards I made using this kit:

Your imagination sets the limits.  Watch for future posts where I recreate this using different papers but the same stamp set.  This Workshops on the Go includes:

One D size stamp set, 1 sheet of Pathfinding B&T paper, 4 sheets of cardstock, 15 cards and envelopes, 1 gold sequin assortment, 1 roll of bronze shimmer trim and the instructional manual all for just $24.95 or $1.66 per card (where can you buy a handmade card for that price).

The workshop kits are available on my website at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or you can click on the shopping cart at the top of the posts to go there.  I hope you will give card making a try, I am sure glad I did.  Happy crafting!!!!!

More fun with Confetti Wishes

As promised yesterday I have some more fun cards created using the Confetti Wishes Paper pack. I love this paper it is so much fun to work with, the bright colors and happy vibe just make you smile.  Ok so here we go, two more cards.

Card 1 -

I have to say of the five cards I made this is my favorite, I love the colors, the design and I really love that sentiment.  Ok so here is how it was made.

I started with the white daisy 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card base.  I added a piece of lagoon that was 4 x 5 1/4" and then a piece of the B&T (remember that is the Background and Texture paper or one of the 6 sheets, two sided, three different patters that are included with the card stock in the paper pack) that was 3 3/4 x 5".  Next I cut a piece of the Daisy White card stock to 3 x 3" and stamped it with these cute little dot stamps that I got in the stamp set that comes with the Confetti Wishes Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go (I am planning to do this scrapbook kit soon and I ordered it and an extra paper pack so I could make scrapbook pages and cards both).  I used all the color inks that were on the paper to include lagoon, pear, paifica, thistle, and canary and then mounted it onto a piece of the lagoon that measured 3 1/4 x 3 1/4".  I love how it turned out but if you didn't want to do this you could just as easily use a piece of one of the other patterns from the B&T papers.  Finally I cut a piece of the B&T to 1 x 4 3/4 and cut a little v into it and did the same with a piece of white daisy that measured 3/4 x 4 3/4" that I stamped using thistle ink and one of the most versatile stamp sets I have purchased ever the Big Hug stamp set.  Oh and lets not forget I just had to add a purple glitter dot.

Card 2 -

This is another of those cards that can be sent to brighten anyone's day.  So easy and yet anyone would love to receive it.

Base is the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" white daisy card base.  B&T paper cut to 4 x 5 layered on that.  Piece of white daisy cut to 3 x 4 1/4" stamped with the Lovely Birthday stamp set (the flower is stamped on a scrap of white daisy and then a piece of 3-D foam tape is used to pop it up), the colors used were lagoon and two new colors, thistle and canary (love them).  This piece is mounted onto a piece of lagoon (could use the canary, pacifica or crystal blue from the paper pack instead) that is cut to 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 and then finally a strip of the B&T paper that measures 5/8 x 5 1/2" is adhered across the bottom of the whole card.

I wanted to point out here that I made these two cards plus the three from yesterdays post all with two pieces of the B&T paper, a little strip of a third sheet and some card stock I had let from other projects.  Cards are a great way to use up those scraps of paper.  Get creative and try something new.  If you need inspiration Close to My Heart sells some great layout books that I refer to often to get my creative juices flowing. All the supplies I used are listed below and you can purchase them from my website at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking the shopping basket at the top of this post.  Happy Crafting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confetti Wishes

I just fell in love with this new Close to My Heart paper pack.  Who wouldn't?  It is fun and exciting and just perfect for scrapbooking and cardmaking.  I just love this new purple color that was introduced on August 1st, it is called Thistle.  So here are some cards I made with it (stay tuned for scrapbook pages coming later this month).

This cute little card is just perfect to brighten up someones day.  Who wouldn't smile if they received this in the mail?  So here is how it is made:

Cut the following:  Lagoon card stock cut to  8 1/2 x 5 1/2" and folded to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" to make the card base.  Now cut the Confetti Wishes B&T (this means Background and Texture or the three different two sided pattern paper that comes in each of the Close to My Heart paper packs) paper to 4 x 5 1/4", center and adhere to card base.  Cut a piece of Daisy White card stock to 2 3/4 x 4" and stamp with the Happy Birds stamp set (color in using the Shin Han Touch Twin Markers or the color pencil).  Mount that onto a piece of Lagoon card stock cut to 3 x 4 1/4" and mount that onto the center of the card using 3-D Foam tape to add that extra dimension.

Note:  this card would look great with the lagoon replaced by the pacifica or the crystal blue card stock that comes in the paper pack as well.

Card 2:

This card was made by starting with the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" white daisy card base.  I stamped Happy Birthday across the top using the Joyful Birthday stamp set.  I then cut a piece of the Confetti Wishes B&T paper to 2 1/4 x 5 1/2" and mount it on the card base, I then took the second piece of the B&T paper which had the candles and the word celebrate across it and cut it following the movement of the sentiment, trimmed it to 5 1/2" and mounted that onto the previous piece of B&T paper.  Finally, to add that little pop I added gold glitter tape and some purple glitter gems (because no card is complete without some bling).

Card 3:

Another birthday card but this one is a little more whimsical.  I again started the card with the daisy white 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card base.  I then added a piece of the B&T paper cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and placed a square (2 1/2 x 2 1/2") of lagoon card stock (again the pacifica, crystal blue or even the canary included in the paper pack would work great here) mounted to the right side of the card (about 3/4" from the bottom and right).   I then mounted a piece of other side of the B&T paper measuring 1/2 x 5 1/2" about 1" up from the bottom of the card and over the square of lagoon.  I then stamped a piece of the daisy white that is 1 1/2 x 4 3/4" with the sentiment and flower from the Lovely Birthday stamp set and cut a v in the end for interest.  Finally here comes that "bling" again, a 2" piece of gold glitter tape and three gold sequins make the card complete.

You can purchase all the supplies used to make these cards from my website at www.craftwithronnie.ctmh.com or by clicking on the shopping cart above.  Below is a list of all the supplies I used to make these cards.  Watch for a new post tomorrow with two more cards you can make using the Confetti Wishes paper pack.  Happy crafting!!!!!!!!!!!!
